I did some searching around and found this codec pack. I'm able to play the .mkv files with Windows Media Player now.

Subscribed...have to try and get the torrents when I'm back in Windows.

It was recommended by the creators of the .mkv files and it hasn't make any attempt to connect to the net. My firewall would've caught it. There are numerous other ways to read the .mkv files though. If you're scared of the codec.

Awesome way to watch a rally. Too bad same day coverage doesn't go to this level of detail, wish it would though. Would be cool if they had a team following all of the top teams in this way and then you could pick which feed to watch. :D

I never saw the damage up close after their roll on Ouninpohja. Yow. Must have been quite a ride to mess up a roll cage like that!
I liked seeing in ep 4 the behind-the-scenes work to move the team from one locale to the next. In fact, a lot of this stuff that happens off the stage would make for great additional coverage for regular rally broadcasts - as many of us have said already.
I'm a little puzzled by the fact that they have only interviewed Loeb in French for the entire production. It almost seems as if they are trying to create some kind of artificial gap between him and the other racers by having him be the distant Francophone who doesn't speak to anyone or do anything but drive like his butt's on fire. I'm no dear fan of Loeb - I do admit he's had some magnificent accomplishments, but I'm tired of him winning everything - but I don't know that I agree with the way this program is trying to portray him (or at least, how I perceive that this program is trying to portray him).
Anyway, great show, and here's to hoping we can get it brought to this side of the pond on broadcast TV so more can see it.

the best thing about that ep is that you folks get to see how much work goes on behind the scenes to keep the rally's going. after helping out with a few stage rally's with the oregon rally group it was nice to see that the wrc deals with the same issues, except i'm sure they dont have a problem finding people to help out. so if you want an up close and personal view of rally, please contact your local rally group and see how you can help!!! with out you rally in the US doesnt happen.

This show sure gives a good perspective. Like when they talked about Petter having to drive harder in order to make up for the deficiencies. Taking risks like that will eventually bite you... which it obviously bit the Subaru team in 2006.
EP4 made me think that Citroen started with an awesome car, and paired it with an awesome driver... but a major component to Sebastin amazing "good luck" apparently is he does not have to push over the edge like Petter was.
This makes me wonder... Did Gronholm need to push harder too?

As posted. Go to your favorite DL site (I like versiontracker.com) and download VLC. You'll be glad you did, it is a great video interface...

you can download the ep4 from that subaru.de site. I think that's it... it's on here a page or two back.
I have a mac...
I dl'ed it and it is a .mkv file and VLC opens it but gets an error. I downloaded VLC again, possibly a newer version and it opened up no problem. It's the one with a traffic cone you'll know what I mean if you download it.

Prodrive HQ in Branbury England. Takes around 80 hours to build up a gearbox. These gearboxes don't break nearly as frequently as F1 with the seamless shifting system being so precise (one wrong strike of the kerb with the tyre and boom).

those gearboxes don't break as frequently as you think.. they cost 100,000 euros for a reason.. you can switch gears instantaneously..
it is a combination of things failing for the team that has caused one bad season after another.. tires, gearbox, driver mistakes, big rocks on the road puncturing parts of the car, this guy called loeb, gronholm, etc..

Well..I'm with you but we can barely even get rally coverage here in the US, let alone a documentary about it. Until then i'll just have to be satisfied burning my own DVD's ;) .
