I bought the goodyear one a week ago and its still running strong on its first charge.

6 wheel changes (4 wheels on a car :) )
and it took off my crank pulley bolt with ease.

I think there is a $10 mail in rebate on it as well, there was at least last week.
SloRice 06-12-2006 04:07 PM

Where did you get it Nick?

I finally got my harbor frieght gun...

It works OK for what I need, which is to deal with lug nuts after the torque has been broken.

Thats why you should go out and buy a better gun. I hate Pep Girls and hate sending them business, but the Goodyear gun has been taking a lickin and rocking and rolling. Last weekend at Road Atlanta it did more tire changes and its been awesome. So far its superior to the "old school" HF gun simply because of the variable trigger. I don't have to even start the lugnuts by hand. I just fire them into the gun and then slowly start then and then blast em on, followed by a torquing.

How much does this goodyear gun cost?

Also, do you have a part number from Pep Boys for it?
KC 06-15-2006 10:58 AM

I'm thinking Milwaukee....

Dude, this Goodyear impact gun rocks. I stopped by Pep girls and got one for $89. I must have done 16 wheel changes to tune the suspension and bleed the brakes. Not a single problem and the best part - the instructions say after a few charges the battery works better! The bad - just comes with only one battery. I did see a replacement battery available but I didn't see a price.

Love it. Thanks Tom. For once you gave some useful advice. :D

^^^Part number, please!!! Some of us don't have a Pep Boys near by and want to try to order one. :D
GSXR 06-15-2006 12:54 PM

I'm not at home but I have the receipt with me and it just says:

24v Cordless impact
33609 <---- I guess this is the part number. ?
STI4ME 06-16-2006 12:47 AM

According to the PepGirl flyer, item# is 33609. $79.98 after $10 MIR. I'm looking at getting this to replace my old school HF gun, which has sered me faithfully for the last seeral seasons. What is the torque rating on this? And is this a NiCd battery?
SloRice 06-16-2006 12:59 PM

I'll be driving an hour each way to Pepboys today to get one. I'll report back with info.

170ft lbs and it is a NiCad. I just stopped by the store to get the MIR! This deal is just getting better.

Anyone know a decent pneumatic impact that isn't too expensive. I have a 5.5hp compressor that can put out a continues 135 psi and I bought a cheap-o impact wrench. It can't even get my lug nuts off without loosening them first.
trhoppe 06-17-2006 09:22 AM

THAT is where harbor freight comes to the rescue.

Your 1/2" variety
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=2623

Small 3/8" for those everyday jobs
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=92453

edit: This looks like the better 3/8" gun. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=92211
Its only 0.3 lbs heavier then the IR Titanium, which is awesome.

If that 1/2" doesn't take it off, then you have other problems.
