GC grill... now i've searched n searched...

i had the Version V for a while... tired of that....

finally saw a 22B replica in person...
not *that* imprezzed..... it's actually a bit lacking...
not as stylish as i thought...

Cwest doesn't do it for me....

i dont like the mesh backed grills...
they just erm... look funny to me...

22B is a nice looking grill.. uses the emblem.. all that.
but is backed by some funky looking mesh bleaaah.... :p

modify it yourself to use the stock stuff... just remove the mesh and put the black stuff in it's place... most of the aftermarket grills I have seen have the mesh...

liked the 22B deal.. but the mesh looked erm... :rolleyes:
and it WAS black... maybe i could use a different TYPE of mesh?
something "smaller" the block of the mesh was quite large.

i dunno... damn never thought this would be that hard...

Why don't you get a real Ver. 5 grill? Then it will have the plastic honeycomb instead fo the mesh the primitive replica had.

Not sure what to tell you. Have you seen the ones at
[url]www.pdm-racing.com[/url] in the "Subaru Corner?" The fitment isn't great, I hear (in fact I also heard--and this could be false--that these very grilles were an eBay notorious part...). They're different, however.

I also have searched far and wide for something for my car. My fave is the 22B, however I have yet to find one in plastic, the replicas are fiberglass. Heavy. Dumb. Blargh. :)

So I'll be opting for a nice Aspen White Ver5/6, if I can find one cheap, somewhere. I like to retain the badge as well (I have a nice pink/gold 22B "stars" badge), and I'm also not crazy about the silver meshing. But they're right, you can change most of them to black.

This is just a thought, but what about billet aluminum?

I've seen billet grilles for the GDs, but you could get a billet grill and cut it to fit,... say,... a C-west GC grill? Maybe even paint the aluminum the same color as your car?

Just a possibility, but I'd like to see the outcome if ya want to be the first to try it! ;)

Get the stock grill from our cousin OBS wagon Jamie! The 99'-01' ones, you know.

It's my favorite grill for our subbies. Plus, I've yet seen one been swapped onto our cars, maybe it's because it's so hard to find one with the right color matching my car.
