I bet it would look nice on a black:alien:

deffinately post pics as soon as possible. where are you buying your wing from? is it the real deal or replica?
kunfuzion 04-02-2003 11:19 AM

Unfortunately its only a replica, but the original costs way too much to be reasonable. I should have it on by this weekend. I'll post pics when I do. Lines up really nice in the back.

man i was thinking about doing this, please post pics.
9 04-03-2003 08:35 AM

So does it line up with the original holes?
spiralsmurf 04-03-2003 12:22 PM

i'm pretty sure the wholes are the same because i've seen people put ver 5 spoilers on the new bodystyle.

they are different wings that they use.. use ver5 and very are esentiall the same wing ,iirc, just made to the different body styles ...remember the wrx has curves on the truck the RS does not...although the holes may be there,

yeah, those are "version 7" wings that are just V6(ormaybe V5) wings made specific for the WRX. In all actuallity wings of old and new body style imprezas are not interchangeable without modification..
kunfuzion 04-03-2003 08:54 PM

yeah, the stock holes don't even come close to lining up. But I shaved off my spoiler long time ago, its been naked for so long, until now. :D

Is that wing mounted in the existing holes? Or did you have to fill the old ones and drill new ones? The holes look a little central to me, or maybe it's just an optical illusion.
ATX25RS 04-28-2003 03:47 PM

looks good...can we get some other views though? like an overall 3/4 shot....and some a little further away? :D and thanks for those
^jynx^ 04-28-2003 05:19 PM

oh god i must have that!!
moss 04-28-2003 07:03 PM

WOW    That actually looks friggen awsome on a GC8!

NimrodBoz 04-28-2003 07:14 PM

those holes are definitely not the stock ones because my stock wing's mout parts end before those even start (in terms of going from edge of trunk towards center). it seems like that wing is a touch too wide for the gc8, but i would really like to see some further away side shots, since those dont really show the scale of the wing in relation to the whole car.
NimrodBoz 04-28-2003 07:15 PM

by the way, why didnt you use the black covers that go over the mounting area or did those not come with the replica?! i think they would make that look much much cleaner
cindergarden 04-28-2003 07:56 PM

there are more pics on their site in their gallery under project cars.
cindergarden 04-28-2003 08:00 PM

ok in re-view of my post and using the "R" word indirectly. I will retract it for the simple reason this just doesnt need to be another and might as well cut it off before it starts, Ill simply leave it with....... its too wide for the GC8 frame
NavySealSTI 04-28-2003 08:30 PM

First off, let me say...I've been looking for these pics for a while. I was right, it does look sweet.
i dont know but im goin to get flamed for this : I think it just doesnt look right on the GC8 its too wide of a wing, and personally i think it suggest too much of the rice factor.. and of course there are those that will say its an STI or STI replica so no way it can be rice but its a single plane wing that resembles alot of todays import wings and a few companies actually make a wing very much like the sti replica GT but with abrake light... but overall nice car you can tell a lot of time and work went into it, Ive been through the gallerys and the shows and it really is a nice piece of work i just think it could do without the wing
Since you know someone is going to flame you, I'll just take some of the heat off. It may be a bit too wide yes. Bringing in the r word was a big mistake cuz some fanboy is going to comment on how your stupid, (you dont know how to paragraph or develop sentences and the likes). Lets hope everyone can be a little bigger this time.

Most if not all threads end up with some sort of childish bickering back and forth....oh and um..its usually started by me

:Edit: just ask 2.5rsmatt...im pretty sure he hates my guts. Oh well, i just love being a troll.
Kostamojen 04-29-2003 03:13 AM

BLARG! Looks like ish :( I thought it might look OK, but that just looks like junk... Too far from the trunk, and too r-word with those mounts :( Wierd cause it looks ok on GDA's. Oh well, the Syms spoiler is still my favorite GC spoiler.

More pic, More pic :D

There are more photos in our website under gallery ->project cars. We will be uploading more photos later today.

The wing does come with the base covers. When we were installing the wing, we didn't take into account the base. So when it was time to put the base on, it was sitting about an inch off from the end of the trunk. We will be moving the bases to compensate for the cover ... hopefully this week. Oh yeah ... we were trying to go for the S202 look! ;)

The holes for the wing do not line up with the stock holes. We had to get the trunk filled. We had a choice of aquiring a new trunk but it was economical to just get the exisiting trunk filled.

Would a 95 impreza be considered a gc8 body style? Im trying to figure out if I can put a scooped hood on my 95 from a slightly later model.

IIRC the lights grill and hood changed in 99, so unless you want to change out all those i may suggest trying to find a 98 RS hood....i think that was the only year made with the "fluted" lights...
moss 04-29-2003 11:42 PM

93-96 have the more rounded headlights with the different grill and hood
97-01 have the squarer headlights different grill. and hood (98-01 RS have the scoops)

i had one for a while but never mounted it.....had to modify the bumper beam...
