I say - keep the Subaru badge... let 'em know what make smoked 'em.
I also say - remove as much STI batdging (and the WING!) ASAP ... you'll surprise more people, draw less attention, and probably have a lesser chance of getting vandalized... especially out here in NJ, where - some of our more jealous neighbors will be glad to key the poor car 'cause they know they can't afford it.

I debadged my REX but thats simply to clean up the look of the back end and so that no Honda Civic with a coffee can realizes whats next to them.

debadger.

I debadged my 2004 wrx, mostly because it was easier to wax! But now on my 2006 wagon, i don't think i'll be debadging.

I'd debadge the subaru logo, and keep the STI and the WRX. Or, I'd debadge the subaru and the STI, and remove the wing, keep just the WRX

PM me if you want any pics of my debadged 05 WRX (subaru logo debadged)
In my opinion, it makes the car look wider.

I also have the same issue. I have a wingless sti with wrx badging on the trunk. I want to take off all the sti stickers and badges but I think if you keep the "subaru" and "wrx" badging on the trunk it makes it look very sleeper. If you debadge I sometimes feel it brings more attention to your car (because most debadger have done other things to thier car -- exhasut, lowering springs ... etc). But again I like both looks and cant decide which to go for. But removing the sti badges is a must if you want stealth.

I did this, but now I'm thinking of puting back the S U B A R U and taking off the WRX. This way they know they were beat by a Subaru wagon, but may not know it was a WRX (if they don't recognize the wing)

heat it up with a blowdryer and pull it off with your fingers. Some ppl use fishing line and it makes it alittle easier, but you have to heat it up first

Make sure that your car is very clean! I made sure of this first and then just kinda rolled off the adhesive with my fingers... Then I went over the area with Meguiars Scratch X and then rewaxed the entire trunk after claybaring.

looks great. i love to see a dirty STi. By the way i got off all the S.U.B.A.R.U. letter tonight, but im still left with a bunch of adhesive crap left on the car. I dont have any goo gone right now, but my grandmother has plenty of it, so i think ill drive there tomorro and get it from her, but my question was is it cool if the adhesive just sits there overnight?????
| Audi-TT | 11-06-2005 09:33 PM |
it's been sitting there sinceyou bought the car, so yea, you get the idea =)
try not to leave it under the sun, that might make it a little harder to remove.

| SoareS | 11-06-2005 09:34 PM |
tru yeah thats what i was thinking, i just wanted to make sure. Also does anyone know the best "method" to applying/using the goo gone??

try not to get goo gone on your WRX emblem if you are going to leave it on there...when I goo goned my subaru letters, I got some on the wrx badge and it took off some of the outlining black paint on the badge, happened to my buddies car also. so be careful
| SoareS | 11-06-2005 09:43 PM |
so i put the goo gone on the adhesive, then what?? Should i let it sit for a few seconds and then rub on it or what?? Any little tools that could make this easier or what? Let me know people PLZ!
| SoareS | 11-06-2005 09:50 PM |
anybody??
| Airborne_J | 11-06-2005 09:56 PM |
I wouldn't do this on anyone else's car but my own, but i used a piece of flat plastic. Kinda like a spatula. Dental floss has been suggested and gets good comments.
| JM530 | 11-06-2005 10:05 PM |
dental floss, maybe a terry clothe as well. Prepare to rub your fingers raw.
| japakazol | 11-06-2005 10:11 PM |
debadge....

Use dental floss then use adhesive remover then get it color sanded. thats what I did.

i figure that you payed for the badges (even more so what they REPRESENT), so why take them off? the vast majority of debadged cars on the road are bottom of the line cars that are trying to be confused with their bigger, better, faster, more expensive counterparts.
| spankaveli | 11-07-2005 09:53 AM |
take it all off :D

if no tools on hand or dun wanna waste $$ on getting tools -->
1) pry the wordings out ...
2) then use the rough side of a 2-ply tissue paper to rub the stickies out .. 3) alot of force and strength required for this method .. it works for my wrx and previous cars ..
damage --> almost negligible and painful thumb n index fingers for the next day .. ahhahaha :disco:
