Need help disguising my sti

So I've had alot of problems lately with jack@##es following me reving engines, people waiting for me when I get stopped at a light and they don't. And just recently there is this guy in a mustang gt trying to run me off the road, coming into my lane, putting his car into reverse when I'm stopped behind him and almost hitting my bumper. When I tried to pull up next to him to see what his problem was he pulled into the opposite lane and turned his car perpendicular in front of me. He wouldn't roll his window down and say anything, totally just being an idiot.
so I was hoping you guys migh have some relatively inexpensive ideas to make my car look less like itself. I'm thinking I will take the wing off first. then maybe get some fog lights any other suggestions?

the fmic is a little too pricey for my budget right now. also as a side question is there any fog lamps besides the subaru ones that fit without trimming? I like the jdms but I'm not sure if i have enough to get them and install them.

install them yourself, they come prepainted from subaru. and you can cut your usdm bumper beam to fit instead of by the jdm bumper beam.. doesnt help make your car anymore unoticable though.

get rid of the wing, go with wrx scoop, and de-badge. I had seen a guy here in scottsdale who did that, the only thing that you cant hide are the brakes. other than that, it looked like a plain WRX. oh yea, and dark tint so he cant see your seats, if he is smart enough for that, but since he is a want to be muscle car driver, (a mustang GT is not a muscle car), he is probably not that smart.

are you doing anything to provoke this kind of behavior from them? anyway take off the badging and the wing. that should help to make it look more like just a wrx and hopefully they will leave you alone

Trade trunks with a WRX, or wingless RS
Debadge only the STi/WRX Emblems
Replaces your foglight covers with non-marked ones
Tint your windows
WRX hood scoop
and if you really want to go stealth, try to find 17x7" steel rims or something like that and find an RS muffler.
It's really easy to find cheap rims from old RS's and WRX's. The only problem you'll run into is getting them to clear your Brembo brakes. I think you need atleast 7" width... don't quote me on that.

why bother with the foglights...don't you think that would attract more attention? just debadge the fog covers along with rest of body panels, paint calipers (as suggested above), swap trunks and/or scoop, and depending what year your sti is, you might be able to get wrx/rs rims - my04 can but not my05s due to different lug pattern (please correct me if i'm wrong).

yeah, I think if that mustang driver had done that to me, when he put his car perpendicular to mine, I would have gotten out, pulled him out of his car, and beat the living **** out of him.

why not just ignore them? People rev at me all the time, I don't give them any attention. Let them figure out what that means. If they cause dmg, call the cops and report it, make them pay. Don't change your car because someone else is an *******. Don't spend a penny unless YOU want to. Stand up for yourself.

I called the cops the first time (atleast I think its the same guy in a different car, he lives in the same area and likes to come into my lane or slam on brakes in front of me, thank god for brembos) all they said was that they would find him and talk to him but that they couldn't do more unless they saw it happen.
Thanks for the suggestions. I wish I could afford the front mount I love sleepers. But for now I guess I'll just get rid of some pink and get a new trunk and save the wing for the track, when I finally get to go. Maybe some cheep rims too.

Buy one of those camera's for inside the car. Turn it on when he is near, video tape it, report to the police. You will have his licence plate in the video too, thats all the police need.
Once your done busting the guy, use the camera for some cool videos.

As far as the fmic, the amount of money that you could make by trading an rs owner for the wing, hood, and badges should be enough to put good chunk of change down on it. Just put a post up for possible trade to get an idea of what kind of money you could make.

dood, let him be an idiot. Don't sink to his level...and certainly dont go out of yur way changing all the nice parts of your car. A wingless trunk swap and maybe a debadge would be reasonable because it looks cool anyway. As far as trunk swap is concerned, someone should give you at least 100 bucks on top of trade...that means they are essentially getting an STi wing for 100 dollars. (dont forget that your new lighter trunk will shoot up fast cause it is so much lighter AND dont forget to swap the lock cores).

write down the plate#, find out were he lives. Go to his house and take out his valve stem covers. And keep doing it for a while on and off. Not leaving a pattern. Soon he will get the hint. It worked for me.

I did call the cops and report it the first time the second I was so mad I forgot to get the tag # and didn't feel like following him. I wanted tp go wingless anyway this will just speed up the process. I'm going to look into the fmic thing more. I'm just worried about lag because it is my daily driver, oh yeah and rocks because I go on gravel roads a good bit. Good idea w/ the valve stem covers, better than my slightly more destructive yet still untraceable thoughts.

Even with a plain wrx there's always an a hol trying to race you. A mustang, a civic or whatever. Just ignore them or race them :)

Would swapping hood scoops with a regular WRX affect performance? Would the standard hood scoop provide adequate cooling? I'm also thinking about doing a swap.

Yeah, I have already removed the wing and debadged it. I would like to remove the scoop completely, but I can't see spending the money for a FMIC and going through the trouble of re-tuning. The car does look cool, just a little unbalanced with the larger scoop. Your right, people still don't know what it is.

Im sorry, I think its time to educate yourself on the good state of SC's gun permits. Its illegal for the state of Sc to deny your CWP if you have a clean background. That means you carry locked and loaded any/everywhere you want. So eph the dumb ish, arm yourself like any self respecting southern boy would do,and be sure if these situations ever get out of control, youll be the one walking away.

my opinion: remove STi from grille, swap trunks, leave brakes etc, i doubt the mustang guy could tell the diff b/w exhausts to be realistic, get windows tinted, debadge fog light covers.. thats about it.. the avg car buyer could hardly tell the difference bw a WRX and a STi noww
