bjorn240 10-05-2006 09:59 AM

Yeah, George said it was a hard drive going down, and it may be down for the weekend, as he is in Prescott for the rally.
mykrrrr 10-05-2006 10:00 AM

On a more positive note, entries are rolling in for Team O'Neil regional rally in NH Oct 28. Can still use more (limit 25) so if you know rally ppl in Northeast US or eastern Canada, get em to sign up NOW! Low entry fee, Jemba notes, and 50 miles of awesome stage roads. rally-america.com see Team O online regist button........

 that's pretty much SS.com right now. :(
Anyone in the NE have a G2 or Prod class car for rent FOR CHEAP??? :D I want to run this as a driver.
Easy Rider 10-05-2006 12:25 PM

It is sad that a few bad apples on SS who have way too much time to whine and complain about everything are ruining it for everybody.

If you can wade through the crap - there is some good info there.
Plus as with any forum there are still WAY more nice people tha bad - it's just that the bad ones make the most noise.
Doug Woods 10-05-2006 12:30 PM

Not Quite

Dave:

I know (or I hope) you posted in jest.

Special Stage has been quite a constructive place since the weirdos formed their own forum over at Rally Anarchy.

Rally is dead - well you might see that from Jens or Rally Nut, but they don't count for anything.

Nothing's any good - same comment.

Mfrs suck - Jens again.

Organizers suck - nope, have not seen that one posted. Oops, I forgot about Ivan.

Races are too fast - yes, there are lots of very valid posts about this, especially after Sprongl's crash at STPR.

Roads are too slow - never seen that one posted. Everyone is looking for slower roads.

It's all too expensive - lots of those posts. And it is.

Yada, Yada - Jens again.

Wank, Wank, Wank - no comment.

Actually, if Jens and Rally Nut would only migrate over to Rally Anarchy ...

Jeez, weren't there enuff smileys?? ;)   :alien: :disco: :) :) (ok, that's almost the official smiley limit, according to nasioc mods)

SS is my favorite site. Highly entertaining, always stimulating, usually useful. NEVER boring.

RallyAnarchy is also a breath of fresh air. Working up me courage to climb aboard over there.

PS-- we DO need more entries for the Team O rally! Let some of the ON and QC regional guys know, puh-leez.
rallynutdon 10-05-2006 01:19 PM

What'samatter with you guys. Can't take the bad with the good? Now if it was all bad, all the time . . .

Dave G, going to see you this weekend?
RB5 Clone 10-05-2006 01:42 PM

Hi Don--

Tulip is in ~143 pieces on shop floor. bent rear subframe at MFR, re-bushing whole rear suspension, and DMS are getting refreshed. I'd come to BRS to work, but have office-related travel next 2 weekends, so if I want to run Team O, this 3-day weekend is my work window.

Your the good Rally Nut

Don:

I was not refering to Rallynutdon, who we all know is a good guy. Hope you did not read that the wrong way.

I was of course talking about our Irish friend Rally Nut.

But then, no-one seems to know who the Irish Rally Nut is or if he actually exists. Hmmm, perhaps he lives a double life in Penn.

Just in case anyone was jonesing:

....seriously, we all need to be thinking about hybrid rally cars, its a viable alternative. You do the math. I mean look at how successful the electric drag cars have been? And the demise of rally is your own fault because you went bought Subarus, and that drove up entry fees. Thats what started it.

Then that kid from Annapolis started drinking Red-bull and his buddy from NYC with the glasses (that I've only seen in pictures cause I don't leave my house) started pointing him which way to go and when to slow down. Well since they were winning, that raised the bar and fees even more. Heckle me all you want, but back in the day, before computers and Special Stage, and when a Super Bettle would kick butt....

Had enough?

What did PT Barnum say about a sucker born every minute?

We all vascillate (when the last time you heard that word?) back and forth from good guy to bad guy from time to time, some more abrasive than others.

1) I no longer wear glasses. I'm vain, so I got LASIK.
2) I had dinner with Jens in Sturbridge about 4 weeks ago, so I can attest that he leaves the house.

Oh yeah and Sweep Should slow down! cause the one guy at "1000 Driveways Rally" last year got like a half inch of air!

Those guys don't know what they are doing. They don't know how to drive! They should all build Rally spec Sweep Vehicles that won't see the road more than once or twice a year.......
