Is WRC relate to violent or nudity?

Damn that speed channel, showing the WRC like they some kind of late night porno. WTx, they put a 3 days rally world event into an hour and half and show it 11pm with no advertisement ahead. I dont hate NSCAR, it just a type of race i dont enjoy. But they show it atleast 15/7 (others are infomercial) even all the damn commercials are related to NSCAR. Are they trying to brain wash the viewer or what. They dont even give people a choice to choose what kinda of motorsport they want to watch. I seriously want to cancel the speed channel just to release my anger. :furious: :furious:

I wonder what the WRC ratings are. They must be really low since not many people in the US watch it even when it was on at 10pm, but 11 is kind of late for a Sunday night when people have work/school the next morning. And it's not as if you can just catch a replay since it is on at 3am during the week. It's as if they want it to fail so they can show 24 hours of nascar and one F1 race every other week. Unless they show big ratings this year or next, I don't put it past Speedchannel to drop WRC after next season. I hope I'm wrong.

I don't mind a whole lot, actually... 8PM was a stupid time to run it if you ever go out for dinner on the weekends. It works out real well in my schedule, actually. The only beef I have is with my cable company putting speed on 408 so I can't Tivo the race.

Quit your whining! We get 1.5hrs coverage the same day the event finishes. Now that you know this get a DVR or a VCR and record it and be happy that we get the coverage. If everyone doesn't keep watching it there may be a day when we don't get any at all, or just a 30 min highlight (20min after commercials) a month after the fact (just like back in 98-99).

I'm just happy we have coverage at all. I don't care what time it's on as long as I know when it's on..I can tape the darn thing.

Seriously, if i didnt look at this forum and knowing that the rally should be airing this 2 weeks, I wouldnt know when is the coverage on. You just have no way knowing when is it on even if you watching the speed channel.

As an American rally fan you need to seek this stuff out. Consider it part of the fun of being a fan of something less mainstream than stick and ball sports.
Speed even did all the work for you! http://www.speedtv.com/programs/27/
Now you know when all the rallies will be televised!

Its not just speed channel, its everything. Discovery channel with goddamn biker buildoff and myth busters instead of cool science crap and animals and old WWII videos like they used to have. TLC with ****ing home decorating shows all day? *** can I learn from that? Everything else with stupid reality bull****. Only TV I watch is a few hours of Adult swim.

Keep watching it as much as possible (even the re-runs, if they have them) and bitch to speed all the time. They will listen.
| Phil Jr. | 03-14-2005 06:48 PM |
I agree with you beeps. I just looked at disc lineup for tonight. All I see is monster, american, hotrod, garage. Yuck. Enough already.
TLC, I saw "best of what not to wear" and decided to stop there. However, there are a lot more smaller specialty discovery channels now. Like the DiscoveryTimes, DiscoverySci and Military channel, which are cool.

And just to make sure that everyone is watching NASCAR instead of Speed, they show bobsledding on Sunday afternoon.

Speed uses a single nationwide feed. So 8PM on the West Coast and 11 PM on the East Coast.

I like the hour and a half covrage now..BUT, they used to show it twice a day, once at 6pm, and again at 11pm.. Which helped a LOT.
Whatever happened to Ralf Shaheen as comentator as well?

They also used to show it over 3-days, and it was like an hour each day... with a 'special-pre-race' show on like Thursday night (rally-XS or something)... and that was only like a year or so ago (or it seems like it... maybe it was 2 years ago?).
It sucks to keep complaining, but like someone posted, if we stop entirely, then speed will stop caring entirely (I mean, if we stop complaining to speed-tv, I doubt they read NASIOC).
I try to voice my concerns to speed-tv during every rally just to let them know someone's watching.... 'squeaky-wheel' theory??
Anyway.. glad 'we' won Mexico! :)

Giving the WRC even crappier show times, will not help the ratings it will ony get worse! If last years ratings were bad at a good time, I can't imagine what next years times will be.

Then you should cancel it, which will leave you with nothing, unless you want to purchase one of the Duke Video rally highlight videos, where the entire season is taken care of in 90 minutes. Personally, I think that 90 minutes per rally is a better deal.
NASCAR pays the bills at Speed. If enough people watched rally, it would have retained the prime-time slot that it had. But that wasn't the case, so it got moved. TV is survival of the fittest. Viewers=advertising=profits.
Speed is never going to be a huge moneymaking proposition, but Fox is doing very well with the channel by hopping on the NASCAR bandwagon. Just visit the web site, and find when the shows that you'd like to watch are on.
Its not just speed channel, its everything. Animal Planet is only fit for pets to watch these days, so it doesn't even make a decent stand-in for the Discovery Channel. :(
TLC with ****ing home decorating shows all day? *** can I learn from that?
DIY channel, while dry, has taken that over as well.

I check out the Speed listing every night when I turn on my TV.. but only end up finding something worth watching once a week. Speed & Discovery are both owned by News Corp (Rupert Murdoch/Fox News) these days anyway.. so you can't expect much in terms of content. Oppinion shows, NASCAR and Reality Shows seem to take up too much of their time to cover anything going on in the real world.

Motorsports Mundail has a few good shows, I record it and fast forward until there is something interesting. I record all episodes of Legends of Motorsport, but some of them are dull (and that guy who does the modern commentary is so dull, even if he knows everything!), the rally ones are flat out amazing. Victory by Design is great too. Then every few days I sit there and go forward through the listings to see what's in there as "Auto Racing" to make sure I catch all rally stuff. The DVR box rocks - for $7 a month it's all setup as part of the cable box, and I didn't have the cash outlay of getting a TIVO... without DVR I'd probably only ever watch WRC and rally, and I'd have to stay up late on a Sunday to do it!
