WRXs- Why no "Turbo" decal / raised lettering indicated on exterior?
I'm surprised there's no "Turbo" indicated on the outside of the WRX.
Since both sedans and wagon versions of the car look kind of unassuming (stand down your flamethrowers) I'd think Subaru would want to put "Turbo" on the rear to, ie, explain to people why I'm passing 8 cyl SUVs et. al. w/ ease on mountain highways.
Having said that, is there anybody that sells raised silver lettering stick-ons that say "Turbo"???

I would prefer that cops can't read turbo on the back of my car, besides, Its just one more badge to take off.:D

i dont think its needed unless there is a non-turbo version of the car out there.. if you notice most manufactors that put "turbo" on their car offer the same car N/A so the "TURBO" marketing is another way to say this is a different (higher) model

Well the RS isn't turbo and looks essentially the same to someone who knows nothing about subarus. Of course, the WRX has the awesome hood scoop that you just can't miss
I think a little turbo decal would look nice on the car, but not on the rear... hmmm now I have to come up with a good place to put one :D

I thought about that. Subaru fixed that, I'm happy to say, but yeah, bringing over unaltered, the bodies from the cool Scoobies without bringing over the power, was a problem.

Why would you want a badge to explain this when the car does the explaining for you? I'd prefer people to not know the potential of my car (make it a sleeper). That is until I need to open a can-o-whoopass and demonstrate it's potential to them first hand. Leave's unedumacated people wondering what the hell kinda car that was that just blew by em!
Personally I want my car to look as close to stock as possible, while performing way above that.

this thread makes no sense, WRX is a turbo decal. RS is the normally aspirated decal.
so you wnat a turbo turbo impreza? o...k...
IMO, the only people who should look for a turbo decal are RS-Ts.

If your hell-bent on getting a turbo decal/emblem for you subby, then I would suggest mabey getting an enblem from Volkswagon. It's the turboS emblem off of their turbo bug. It doesn't look to bad and it's not insanely big. My friend put one on his 1.8T jetta. But IMO the WRX emblem on the back of our cars says it all.;)

I don't know.
but FYI
The GC8's sold in south america used to have Impreza 2.0 Turbo badge in the back and no WRX badge.

That's because they were Impreza 2.0 Turbos, not WRX's. Geesh, Subaru has sold Impreza Turbos, Impreza GTs, WRXs, WRX-STI. Each car is distinctly different, the "turbo" badge is a cheap marketing ploy plain and simple. Just like "GT" is supposed to stand for "Grand Touring"... when's the last time you saw a Hundai in a grand touring race??? Or "RS" is "Rally-Sport"... you all know that the Cavalier is tearing up the WRC circuit. Come on, I don't want to flame you but this is ridiculous.

I agree, the WRX Badge is enough. I think it is stupid when GM and companies put stuff like EFI on their cars, and ABS on the wheels. Just takes away from the car if you ask me.

Simple *to you* of course. It seems to me that to the unitiated majority "WRX"="meaningless gobbledygook" and SoA for marketing purposes might want to toot their horn more, albeit ever so subtly.
Unless the badge or decal is 2 feet tall and neon, the Rex would still play the sleeper.

Impreza L
I have an impreza L that I proudly display the badge of on the back. And then if I feel the need to advertise that hey maybe this thing has got some power I just make my BOV go off and I'm all set. You know got to suprise you WRX's when I drop you. No need for turbo badge here.

This isn't a bad way to strut your stuff. If you are a WRXer, don't throw any more badges on the car. In fact, I took most of them off with the exception of the WRX on the trunk.
Wanna let someone know you are driving a forced induction car..cruise at normal speed until an unsuspecting wannabe vehicle taunts your ride, just at that moment downshift then, WOT (Wide Open Throttle) making sure you keep you rpms up. If you got a stock set up you should make your point, if you got a tuned WRX, NASA will be calling you local police saying something just showed up on radar....:p
Lastly learn to drive better. No one will see your badge if you are busy looking at other peoples tail lights. (Kinda like me...;) )
