Bosch Icon. I put mine on today and they rock.

The Bosch Micro Edge Excel work pretty good...probably not the best, but also not as pricey as some of the others. They are definitely better than the silicone blades that walmart carries.

Good but not to mention expensive. OEM blades have always been good to me(on other cars)

Bosch. They are very good. wipes very clean way better then the OEM crap.

New RainX Latitude's! Very similar to Icon's or Valeo's, but less expensive. Pepboy's has them and their is a mail-in rebate buy 1 get 1 free! I just put them in and they are great.

Thanks. I'll have to try them out. Although I hate mail in rebates.

I tried the RainX ones and liked them but I got a great deal so tried the Piaa ones and love it. Even after rain dries on the window and rains again, the dust comes right off no smears. Really good stuff.
| lookitsawagon | 10-18-2006 03:49 AM |
The Trico Innovisions (Valeo-like) have been good-- they've lasted far longer than the standard wiper blades I had been using. Seattle gets a lot of rain... if they start 'chattering', a quick wipe with rubbing alcohol restores the clean edge.

i second (or 4th or 5th) the bosch wipers.
| ripvw | 10-18-2006 04:45 AM |
valeo
agree, by far the best I've ever used, much better than OEM and Bosch Excel. only wipers I've ever used that not only work great at wiping but are totally silent in the process. amazing and worth the $20 each - last about a year in polluted Houston air.
aquapel is a good investment too and better than RainX IMO - mostly due to the applicator but it also seems to last longer - about 6 months vs. 4 for RainX.

I've tried Rain-X and Aquapel on my windshield and both are OK for about a month. After my stock wipers went to hell, I decided to get off the wallet and get PIAA silicone wipers. $20/each is a lot of money for wipers, but after about 2 years, they are still day one new. After install, you let them run dry for 5 minutes. This coats your windows with silicone and you get the same effect as a Rain-X or Aquapel treatment. It's not 100% the same, but maybe like Rain-X after 2 weeks. With the "Rain-X effect" + the superior blades, you get killer results. For a cheaper solution, google Silblades as they are cheaper and you can just buy the refills. Silicon wiper blades > *. wiper blades.

If you've got issues with the blade lifting at high speeds or freezing up in winter give these a try:

The only problem with them is they only last about six months.

aquapel + valeos x3 (get jealous of the rear wiper sedan owners). Best combo i've ever used.

Whetevr you do do not get Michelin wiper blades. You can find them at Wal-Mart. They SUCK. I have had good experience with anything Bosch though. Good for the money, if you dont want to spend $50 on wipers.
| Javier | 10-18-2006 02:34 PM |
You Bosch guys, do any of you have experience with your wipers in snowy conditions. I have a great set of Trico wipers, but have no doubt that when they get cold they're gonna suck badly. Curious what people are using for winter time...
| jasonallenross | 10-18-2006 02:43 PM |
For wintertime wipers, I get the specially sealed (Winter) ones since I've had too many ones with the open frames get clogged up with salt/slush/etc. I think the brand is Trico. I generally get them for the wintertime and buy new ones the next year.
That, and keeping the windshield clean at every fill-up helps a lot. I even keep a squeegee in the garage for the winter months where I can clean up a window that's been caked in road salt.
I also find that switching off the defroster and going to the full-cabin ventilation (with A/C on) helps a lot once the window is cleared. Heating up the window makes the salt cake up even more quickly, and when the stuff can stay wet for a while the wipers have a much easier time with it.
I might try the Valeos or the other cheaper versions of the same thing. I dont' mind spending a few extra $$ on good blades, it's cheaper than hitting something nasty or injuring the family .....

Trico Innovisions work good. I didn't feel like paying 40 bucks for the icons.....but I might try them next time.
| MyRuRex | 10-18-2006 04:45 PM |
For me, I had a bad experience w/the Icons. Worked great initially then they started streaking, chattering and getting loud after a couple of months. $20 wasted, for me at least. I still remember the Piaa's, best wiper I've had to date and most likely going back to them.

Bosch Icon's, as well as all other wiper blades are 25% off now through the end of October at Advance Auto Parts.

Of course, you guys don't have much of a winter down in Texas. ;) :D That's whats keeping me from buying the Icons. I just get the Trico/Anco set, medium quality, so I am able to just change just the rubber blade when the ice tears them apart.

Valeo Ultimates just installed... so far so good. I love how simple, clean and efficient they are.

I am using Michelin wipers now (purchased @ walmart) and am pretty happy with them . They have good contact and get the job done . I also use rain x so I don't really need wipers anyway .

"Michelin and Valeo Join Forces to Launch a Range
of High Performance Michelin Wiper Blades
Paris, France, October 13th, 2005 - Michelin and Valeo announce the launch of a range of Michelin high performance truck and passenger car wiper blades in the international independent aftermarket.
The range of premium wiper blades has been developed in close collaboration with Michelin, by Valeo, world leader in the vehicle wiper market. The range offers unique features and outstanding consumer benefits:
A unique scraper profile provides a stronger wiping action which not only helps evacuate water more effectively from the windscreen, but also helps remove impurities such as flies. The result is an outstanding performance in terms of windscreen cleaning. This ensures a clear visibility, essential for safe driving, no matter what the driving conditions are.
A hydrophobic coating ensures the blade does not stick to the windscreen in icy conditions. It also protects them, which improves durability.
The truck wiper blades will be distributed through specialist channels such as repair outlets and tyre dealers. The initial launches have commenced in September, in England, Denmark, Finland, Greece and Italy, and will continue throughout France, Spain, and Belgium by the end of 2005.
The passenger car wiper blades will be distributed through specialist retail channels such as automotive accessory retailers, tyre dealers, repair centres and, where appropriate, hypermarkets. The initial launch is planned in China in November and Europe will follow soon after.
Both ranges will be progressively launched in other countries (excluding North America) once distribution is secured, with the aim of establishing Michelin as one of the leading brands within the premium wiper blade sector.
Enhancing mobility with more safety, comfort, efficiency and enjoyment is the mission of both Michelin and Valeo Groups.
Valeo Service is the aftermarket activity of the Valeo Group and supplies high quality parts and services to both OES and IAM customers. Valeo Service is supported by the expertise of its twelve industrial branches and their leading positions in the Original Equipment market. Valeo Service has one of the most extensive offers for the aftermarket with 176 product ranges covering 12 product functions for passenger and commercial vehicles. www.valeoservice.com"
