Pictures from Subaru Motorsports day

I would guess this was a gathering of various motorsports teams that are sponsored in part by SOA. Includes rally, drag, and road racing cars. Apparently both T2 club racing cars were damaged at the event and they missed the T2 National race at Mid-Ohio.

One of those involved from the Phoenix motorsports T2 contingent posted the URL on sccaforums, I just relayed. My guess is this was probably something setup for the employees and bigwigs at SOA to see where some of their money was going. :)

It was a press event for Subaru Motorsports and everything they support including the rally car, T2 cars and ESX.

Ali Afshar, Julie Stepan, and James Han. You can spot James's hip new pick up in the background.

The whole idea is backwards! She's hot, no doubt, but Subaru thinks they can sway redneck Mustang draggers with this?

that seems odd that they didn't have Pat Richards car there, didnt he win the champoinship for them in 2004 ? (as well as a bunch of other stuff)
I heard from a local source (I live in BC) he was supposed to be there but someone on some other team baulked at the idea. kind of a slap in the face if you ask me...
Are Ken Block and Travis Pastrana are our "official" subaru rally team ? Who is Ken block anyways?

Ken Block is like Al Bundy, but much faster in a rally car. ;) He started DC Shoes and made a bundle selling it, and he still has some connections to it (not clear to me, but he's 'sponsored' by them). So in reality, he's just a rich guy with good sponsors who happens to be pretty darn fast. And from what I've heard, he's a nice, down to earth, normal guy. Apparently Travis got him into the sport.
I would consider the two of them to be the "Subaru USA Rally Team," but it's hard to tell since SOA seems to just give money and some support (James Han seems to be at every rally) while VT Sportscar does the actual team stuff. The Swede might have a better answer to this...
