New Body Kit for the WRX from SOA????
I just got off the phone with a dealer and he said they have a new body kit (front lip, side skirts & rear lip) for the WRX. the price is much more than whats listed on the options page of subaru.com. I looked everywhere I know to see if I could find pictures but had no luck. Has anyone heard of these new parts and seen pictures?
the price for the whole kit is over $1,000
would like to see pics to determine if it's worth it.

I think I'm gonna stop by there Friday and check out the book he has and see what the kit looks like. I'll see if it's some kind of accessories book that I can bring home and scan the photos so I can post them for everyone. if worse comes to worse I'll take my digi and take a pic of a pic :lol:

Please do keep us posted, Do you think that all dealers will have this picture or part, because my dealer is only 3miles down the road, I'd run dowwn there to take a peek. Do you think it is like the one that has been going around in this forum under the heading '02 body kit? I really like that one.

I was watching the Monte Carlo Rallye last night, and I saw the WRX commercial with the WRB WRX and the Headlines about the awards and recognition that it's won. I SWEAR TO GOD that the body kit on there, at least the front lip and rear pan, is the same as the WRX wagon body kit. Check it out.. you can tell by the piece that runs under and across the ENTIRE front of the car, and the aerodynamic indentations on the far sides of the rear pan. I could be wrong, but I'm not known for it... ;)

I have seen the commercial also and I WANT THAT KIT.
I'm hoping that's the kit the dealer was talking about. it's from SOA so it's not aftermarket. I don't know what kit the picture above is and can't see the front lip so I don't know if that's the one in the commercial.
if someone can get to a dealer sooner than Friday and get us some pics that would be great

IT IS THE WAGON KIT, i dont know why in other threads poeple object, but i BET MY LIFE on it. The commercial with the blue wrx, does indeed use the kit from the wagon specially modded to fit the sedan (which isnt that hard) and from the begining, i always thought the wagon kit (front spoiler at least) looks way better than the sedan option.

i assume you are talking about the uk oem kit ( since the kit isn't offered stateside). here' s the pic of the front of the wagon w/ the uk oem kit. it is not the same kit. sorry guys. the new kit does look pretty good though. perhaps they'll have another kit for the wagon? the sideskirts look interesting too.

Yes the wagon comes like that..No slits, just like they dont come with fender flares either...If i remember correctly they were trying to make this kit avaibable to us...but believe me, its the wagon kit specially fitted to the sedan....because the sedan is a tad wider...but if u CANT wait why dont u just get it done professionally at a good body shop....If i know some 1 who put a 3000gt shogun kit specially modded to fit a eclipse body without any visual sign of looking wierd. Than im sure a professional body shop can make this kit fit for the sedan with no problem.

So anyway, Back to the topic.
I like the revised rear lip much better. It's similar to my CWest rear except simpler. If it comes painted it might be a good swap if mine ever cracks.
I don't know about those sides though. Very weird lines going on and it doesn't match the rear at all.

Where'd you get your wheels from? They look great. Those are the new subaru factory option 17" wheels right? Did you get them from subaruparts.com? Also, what size tires do you have? Thanks and the car looks great.

Let us know what you find out..! I wasn't a big fan of that lip before I saw it on the sedan.. I like the way it accents the front end.. I do like it on the wagon now too.. finally the wagon owners get something that us sedan guys want.. :D

I could be wrong, but that "lip" looks like what SOA has been calling an "underspoiler" which has been offerered on both sedan and wagon since the WRX came stateside.

I haven't see this lip offered yet and I've been looking for one since I bought the car. The one offered by SOA that I've seen isn't the one on that wagon. matter of fact the one that you can order for the sedan from SOA plaes in comparison to the one on that wagon

will the WRX sedan kit work for the RS sedan? that new kit is awesome! little bit of a deviation, but-- are there any differences in the body of the 02 wrx and the 02 RS?

No favorable results
Well I went to the dealership today to see what "NEW BODY KIT" they had for the WRX and sad to say they didn't know of any new kit. I talked to the manager of the parts department for about 45 minutes explaining what I was looking for. All he could find for me was the kit that we've all seen already. I logged on to this thread and showed him the picture of the lip on the wagon and explained that is what I'm looking for. It's not something he can get. he was impressed himself with the product and made a call to his parts person. Don't know exactly who it was but it was an 800 #. I'm guessing it was SOA because he gave them his dealer #. that was about all he could do for me but these guys are so nice and helpful. they really are a good department. the service department is also a pleasure to deal with. the sales people I don't know about I didn't buy my car from them.
So the big question is who or where can the lip on the wagon be purchased. If it's only offered in the UK can we some how get it here states side. there has to be a way.

I found it
well that didn't take long but i have C. Scott Williams at SubaruParts.com to thank. he pointed me in the right direction and I found the lip. they have a lip for the sedan & the wagon so there shouldn't be a problem with the fit. I sent them an email inquiring about purchase price and shipping. I also inquired about a group buy for anyone who may be interested in purchasing this part.
As soon as they reply I'll post the results. I don't know if anyone is still keeping an eye on this post but if ya are and have an interest let me know.
