There will not be a Fontana Pro, think Orange County  , and the dates for both of your Socal events are off a bit. Little chance of Atwater getting both due to site issues. You are missing Miller Motorsports park Tour. I hear the TX pro will be in Mineral Wells again. I hear nothing will happen in FL at all.

We can't even get a site for a 30-40 second pro course right now in Miami. We have experimented with a couple of sites, but found them not adequate mainly due to the surface or lack there of. There are a couple of sites we are still trying to test, but we don't see that happening anytime soon. Out dream would be Homestead Air Reserve base, but that is unlikely.

Errr... what can I tell you. It was a bad course for STI's - too many gear changes. Oh yeah... I drove like crap as well, but that is a minor detail:lol:
Anyway - El Toro would be an interesting location. Lots of intersecting runways - makes for some interesting course designs.

I would think a setup like the last PFM practice there would work well if you just split it in half.

The El Toro Pro in 2002 was fun and fast. I got spoiled and ran that and a Wendover course as my first two Pros ever. Solidly in Third gear in a G-stock 2.5RS was fun.
The tight courses at Atwater and Fontana were a let down.

While we're on the subject of the '07 National Tour Solo & Pro Solo events, as a little *side track*, does anyone know about new sizes in r-comps to be offered by Hoosier & Kumho for 17" wheels?
It would be awesome to have the V710 or A6 offered in a 235/40/17 size...or the V710 offered in a 245/40/17 size (like the A6).

The number I hear now is 7 pros, came down from 9 due to budget issues.
Still hear 9-10 tours.
btw your first post is still messed up.... Miller tour, Wendover Pro. Also Vegas will never host anything but a local event. The only way to get a tour/pro there is to have another region do it. So take that off of your list. SD and OC will be late March.

No official word yet on a DC Pro, mostly due to National not committing to the schedule yet. :D
We discussed having a Tour. Don't think it'll happen because back to back national events is murder on the Committee. Seems like we can barely make it through one - even with AI's enormous help - without serious burnout issues, but nothing's been ruled one way or the other that I remember reading.
Just the thought of back to back National events makes me tired.

They don't consult the SPAC for the schedule (nor should they), and I'm not planning regional events anymore, so I'm as clueless as the rest. I'm also probably not traveling to anything far away this year because of my workload from night classes (which is the same reason I haven't been able to put my engine back together). Based on the fact that the ProSolo Finale is Fri/Sat again I'm not really interested in running those events.

Heck we can make the Toledo airport from our house in well under 2 hours without a problem, ~120 miles door to track makes it about as local as most people get. I think our hotel in Walnut Ridge was 40 miles from the event site. :) Of course two years ago we found that the local family establishment was having some sort of competition with several other establishments from Michigan, let's just say that the contest was on how many dances not how much they could make and we all had a good time. I think there were 6 of us and 30 entertainers that night. :) So there was definitely a reason to stay local.
I'd love to see Toledo events again this year and I'd do everything I could to help the NWOR region make it happen if the pavement is available.

Whoops... forgot there was a thread already. DOH!

Please be aware that we do NOT have castle secured! We are working on something, but the county plans to build on the patch that we race on and nearly all racing is on a month to month basis for booking right now. Just a heads up guys,

To elaborate on what JoltDudeUC said...
Castle (Atwater) is going away at some point. As of now, it cautiously appears that we will have use of it thru April 07. This is because the gears of gov't bureaucracy are moving slow on getting it recertified as a Commercial airport (and thus, us kicked out).
Who knew that moving at the speed of government red tape could actually be a GOOD thing :D

South Georgia Motorsports Park is what I've heard as under consideration.

Hmm, that milwaukee date is going to take a little work, we just set our local schedule and have an event that weekend. Maybe my first job as the new A.D. for the region will be to do a lil rescheduling... ;)

That would be correct. A good friend is in that local region and she told me today that the SCCA's concern is that it might be too cold in Feb.
I was like...uh...yeh...like it wasnt too cold in KS
Also...SGMP would be a great site to use the new single course Pro concept as its not quite big enough for two courses....

Honestly though, is there a certain point in the year when they typically open registration for the events? It'd be nice to just register for everything I plan to run nice and early and not worry about it. I assume the earliest is when the dates are officially published in SportsCar/Fastrack? and isn't there mail in entry forms?
