Silverstone predictions.... part 2

J Colman 07-11-2001 01:05 PM

Cruising home may not be as easy as Colman thought, with the daring rookie Dittmar closing quick. Colman radios the pit and asks for some solid advice from team manager Felstead. "Uh mate, you need to drive the bollocks off that thing to stay in front of the hard charging Dittmar" As he passes the pits he see's the split times on a pit board being held by Arioch, 2 secs. "I better get a move on" Colman says to himself.

!!!

OH NO!!! As Dittmar came out of Turn 4 the traction control apparently failed and he spun across the track, taking with him the BAR Honda of Fred Zaplitny, driving his first GP after Panis suffered an ingrown toenail. What a disappointment for the two stand-in drivers....

Now, lets hear the rest of the race account please.

SCRAPPYDO 07-11-2001 03:50 PM

As long as were are dreaming..... haha...

Whats this...whats this...

I have never seen such a feet of stupidity! A bloody american fool with a SCRAPPYDO T shirt is running along the back straight with the numbers 555 tatooed across his head! Their appears to be... yes, I belive it is.... a large monkey on his back. If I am not mistaken, the monkey appears to be beating him with an empty can of Guiness... incredible!

Have you ever seen such a weird sight in all your days?

NO I haven't, lets hope that the Dittmar and Coleman will have enough sense to run over this idiot, and then continue to use him as a speedbump!

Wow, look at that guy go, the monkey is relentless, I have never seen such a beating at the hands of a monkey since Jane GoodAll got attacked by a large female Chimp over a banana tree dispute...

Truely brutal! Well thats one for the record books...lets go to a commercial..

Hehehehehehehehehe

Justin.

Donjuan- Well Silverstone is done, now we will have to start thinking strategy for Germany, since our reallife counterparts are still out with whatever is ailing them, Anyone else is welcome to be a stand-in for their favorite man. One spot on McLaren and Williams are already taken. I can feel another classic Colman, Dittmar battle in the land of saurkraut (spelling?).
SCRAPPYDO 07-11-2001 04:14 PM

okay, then I will claim Jarno Trulli...

SCRAPPYDO=Jaruno Trulli!

zoom zoom
donjuan 07-11-2001 04:15 PM

it's on brotha...

Hockenheim here we come. Ralf and I will be ready, and we're out to knock McLaren out of that number two spot. You may have had a good run, but your teammate is a Coul-turd. :)

Hope Fred's not pissed that I punted him.....

J Colman 07-11-2001 04:29 PM

Hehehehee.

I am doing some secret testing at our Woking testing facility in the next week, I will be trying to put the pressure on DC again and the rest of the field. The rumours throughout the pit lane are that Trulli is out and a new talent, Scrappydo, will be taking his place.

So far I have 10 points in our mini season, the rest of you DNF'd

Arioch 07-11-2001 05:31 PM

i'll take kimi....

as much as i like dc, i think his season is more than over ( :( ) i just hope that kimi gets rookie of the year....

arioch=kimi
johnfelstead 07-11-2001 08:14 PM

Rookie of the year?????

We dont have rookie of the year in Europe.

If you dont win you dont count, who cares if you were a rookie or not. I'll tell you who, NOBODY.

I almost died laughing when Nigel Mansell got rookie of the year in the Indycar series in 93. The man was F1 world Champion and Indycar series champion at the same time and he got rookie of the year!!! The most hilarous thing i had seen awarded ever. :D

Mansell, what a hero in the car, what a whiner out of it.

Kimi, not a single doubt in my mind, if he keeps his form next year he will be in a Ferrari in 2003. Sorry Ruebens, but you suck as an F1 driver, never impressed me ever, i'd kick your ass in my westie. ;) LOL
As for his podium robot dances, that seriously sucks ass. No wonder he is getting stuffed in the car. If his feet dance on the pedals like they do on the podium he doesnt stand a hope in hell. :D

babe of the week, my kind of pit babe, gorgeous and funny.

J Colman 07-12-2001 09:00 AM

Are we going to get a pit babe of the week, everyweek?

Justin
donjuan 07-12-2001 09:19 AM

That's it...distract him with pitbabes!! He'll be easier to beat at Hockenheim...
J Colman 07-12-2001 09:26 AM

I dont think he's racing at Hockenheim
donjuan 07-12-2001 09:28 AM

I meant you Justin

Finally, some babes! Very nice.
ZFEVER 07-13-2001 02:07 AM

..This is SpaMan reporting live from Silverstone, where I am near David Coulthard's Hotel room. From where I am standing I can see that David is rehearsing his speech for "why the car and the team underperformed this weekend."
I have also seen him gesturing several times toward his neck as though to practice some sort of "strangling-one's-self-while- operating-a-race-car" manuever. I'll report back when I know more.

Here we go chaps,
Michael Schumacher took all of eight minutes to beat last year's pole time in the first free practice session at Silverstone today as Ferrari dominated the early running.

The world championship leader was backed up by team-mate Rubens Barrichello as the Ferraris held sway over rivals McLaren at the Woking team's home circuit.

Mika Hakkinen led David Coulthard as the Silver Arrows occupied third and fourth. Coulthard looked visibly ruffled by the pace of the Ferraris which is an ominous early sign for the Scot's chances of taking a third British Grand Prix victory in a row.

Heinz-Harald Frentzen was fifth for Jordan at the team's home circuit ahead of Eddie Irvine's improving Jaguar. BAR were given a boost as Olivier Panis and Jacques Villeneuve came home in seventh and eighth.

I love this one "Coulthard looked visibly ruffled"

<marquee>COME ON MIKA</marquee>

Justin
donjuan 07-13-2001 09:16 AM

you know...

..even though I'm hoping to see Williams move into 2nd soon, it would make me thoroughly happy to see Mika just annihilate everyone once this season. Just dominate the race completely. The guy can do it too. I hope he doesn't retire...
J Colman 07-13-2001 09:19 AM

Yeah,
I am a Schumi fan through and through, but Mika is just straight up cool, I hope he can win one and regain his confidence a little, he's too good to retire from racing. I will be cheering him on this Sunday, I bet he would cry if he was on the podium.

Justin
donjuan 07-13-2001 09:30 AM

MI-KA
MI-KA
MI-KA

I'm the same way...I've got my favorite, but I always like to see Mika do well. I'd love to meet the guy someday, he's a class act, unlike his teammate.

If he does retire from F1, I at least hope he doesn't hang up his helmet completely. I don't think he would. It'd be WAY cool to see him in endurance racing or something down the road.
J Colman 07-13-2001 10:19 AM

Maybe LeMans
SpinAll4 07-13-2001 10:22 AM

News Flash!

McLaren is fastest in pratice! If i was them, i would dog it a little on friday so I wouldnt be cursed on Sunday.

I would like to see Mika catch a break and be able to drive his car for a little while on Sunday.
Hey, if DC qualifies first on the grid for Sunday, I will personally garuantee that he will somehow select Reverse gear for the race launch!

Go Ralfie and Doggie

ps-i know they dont got no reverse gear ;)
donjuan 07-13-2001 10:26 AM

goo

I was not too happy to see the Williams cars so far down on the list, but Ralf did make a huge improvement from the first session to the second. Besides practice times are good for two things, jack and s#!t, and jack left town. :)
Fred Zaplitny 07-13-2001 11:13 AM

I'm with donjuan, practice times don't mean anything. Besides, why are you all talking about Mikka and Schumy when you guys know Montoya's going to take the race on Sunday! :p
J Colman 07-13-2001 11:15 AM

Montoya, yeah right, it will be either a Mika or Schumi win.

Justin
donjuan 07-13-2001 11:19 AM

:)

You gotta give Fred credit, he's sticking with JPM even through the crash-outs, spout-offs, and us calling him (JPM) names. Good fan :)

It doesn't matter though, JPM isn't even driving Sunday, he's gonna be out on a chili-dog binge. Ralf and I will be representing Williams :D
J Colman 07-13-2001 11:24 AM

Yeah, and I am doing pretty well in the practice times so far today.
donjuan 07-13-2001 12:37 PM

heh...this will slow Colman down...

DOH!
J Colman 07-13-2001 12:42 PM

Colman touches the grass and goes off, the car spinning wildly and then coming to a complete stop in the gravel trap.

Hmmmmm

Justin
donjuan 07-13-2001 12:46 PM

....

...Rumour now has it that Williams' driver Dittmar has been meeting with Eddie Jordan to discuss a possible drive, reasons unknown....

:D :D
Fred Zaplitny 07-13-2001 01:02 PM

Oh my!

Suddenly I got the urge for a Benson & Hedges, and I don't even smoke! She sure is smokin' though :D

May you all eat chili dogs after JPM's domination on Sunday!
SCRAPPYDO 07-13-2001 01:10 PM

So you have found the pits of the Jordans.. why do you think I chose Jarno Trulli

ha ha!

SCRAPPYDO=Jarno Trulli

If she doesn't make you grap on your tired, I don't know what will.

grap on my tired....boy howdy!

johnfelstead 07-13-2001 07:23 PM

Mika has lost the plot since his sprog popped out.

He even has a special arangement as of this race to have said sprog looked after at the circuits.

Sorry folks, Mika is finished as a top driver, end of an era etc. etc.

I wish i could tell you more about what i know, but i cant. ;)

Discuss. :D

Off to Rockingham in 6 hours, must get some good data for chip the pimp. Dont forget, cheer for me in the race in the twinny mini. :D
Fred Zaplitny 07-14-2001 09:14 AM

Don't grap on your tired too much or you'll go blind!!

What's a Sprog? Is that like a Finnish Doner Kabob? Maybe with extra chili sauce?
SpinAll4 07-14-2001 04:52 PM

I guess Michelins dont work in the cold

Mikey
Mika
DC
TRULLI !

My Williams boys back in 8th and 10th

Anyone think Mike will do a little push over move on Mika tomorrow?

Will Mika pull over for DC if the situation allows?

Will Rubens put anyone into the grass ? (he's in a slump on that topic)

Will the Chili Dog vendor sell out?

Stay tuned...
johnfelstead 07-14-2001 07:24 PM

a sprog is an affectionate term for a new born baby. :D LOL
Fred Zaplitny 07-15-2001 12:28 PM

Well Mikka and the sprog won.....Chili Dog came in 4th. That is JPM's first finish other than second place twice. Nice job Montoya! I didn't see the race yet as I got piss drunk last night and slept till noon today. I will see it tomorrow and see just how flawless (as F-1 Live put it) Montoya's drive was.

Can you tell how much I care about the other drivers! :D Where did those freaky German brothers finish anyways? Not that I really care. :D Stupid Schumy has it wrapped up anyways. He can phone in the rest of the season and still win.
Adrian128 07-15-2001 12:39 PM

JPMs drive

I wouldn't exactly call JPM's drive flawless, but he was a victim of bad circumstances or team tactics, one or the other. He was on a 2 stopper, and the 2 Ferraris, and Ralfie were on one stoppers. He was second when he went in for his first pit stop, and he came out 5th, behind Barichello and Ralfie. He was obviously quicker than both of them at that time but he couldn't get in front of Ralfie and Brichello. This negated his advantage (new tyres) and he was just forced to follow the 2 in front of him. When ralf went in for his pit, JPM went quicker and was on Barichello's tail, but he then had to go in for his 2nd stop. The crew didn't do a good job and it took him 10 secs to stop for tyres and little fuel. Barichello's stop soon after was only 8 secs, and he was able to get in front of JPM. :)
johnfelstead 07-15-2001 02:08 PM

see, told you............:D LOL

I just finished watching the race coverage and press conference.
What a bunch of dull, boring and miserable sods. Even Chilli Dog was miserable when interviewed

That race wasn't a race the moment DC crashed out.
Ferrari had already decided before the race even started to settle for 2nd or 3rd. Jean Todt was interviewed on the start grid by Martin Brundle, ex-F1 driver and now ITV comentator. Jean said we dont have to try to win.

Shuey just let Mika and Chilli Dog pass without a thought of trying. The sooner Shuey wraps up the tittle the better, we might get to see some racing again then cos right now it's a farce.

As for Tarso Marques, all that Monkey had to do was qualify the damn car and then i would step in, talk about gutted. ;):D LOL
J Colman 07-15-2001 10:08 PM

Spot on predictions about Mika, Felsty ;)
Was he ever trying to silence the critics today.

I guess I get 10 points for that win, dont I? I was filing in

donjuan 07-16-2001 10:01 AM

DC's latest words of genius

Retiring on the fourth lap of the British Grand Prix was a bitter pill for McLaren driver David Coulthard to swallow in front of his home crowd. It not only meant that his dream of winning at Silverstone three years running was destroyed, but it was also a blow for his championship aspirations. Championship leader Michael Schumacher finished in second place behind Coulthard's teammate Mika Hakkinen, earning himself an additional six points and extending his lead to 37 points over Coulthard.

Although the Scotsman is happy for Hakkinen, who scored his first victory in 15 races, he was also disappointed by his own retirement, which resulted because of a first lap incident where he connected with the Jordan of Jarno Trulli. Coulthard believes that judging by Hakkinen's blistering pace throughout the race, he too could have done well and perhaps even won.

In an interview on British television immediately after the race Coulthard said: "Obviously I am very disappointed in my own race, but you have to look to the positive here because McLaren were very competitive and its good to have Mika up there on the podium. It could have been a McLaren 1-2 and naturally I think the result would have gone the other way for the sake of the championship. So that in itself gives us confidence because I think in reality we were much more competitive here relative to Ferrari than at the Nurburgring we were pretty average."

Unfortunately for Coulthard though he was not able to demonstrate his competitiveness, or show the world how McLaren would have gone about implementing their team order, after his suspension was broken during his shunt with Trulli. As with most racing incidents the two drivers always see things differently and Coulthard believes that the Jordan driver should have lifted as he was ahead as they came through the first corner.

"Well if you always lift off unfortunately you are always going to come out second best," said Coulthard. "I think looking at the damage to my car Jarno's front wheel only was touching along my bodywork and I think we as drivers know the type of corner you have there and it opens out on the exit. So with having track position I was in front of him then there is absolutely no reason to expect that I should lift in that situation. The only way we could have come in contract was if I deliberately turned in on him, which I obviously consciencely didn't do, and or he turned into the side of me. At the end of the day it actually doesn't matter why it happened, the fact is we should both know that you can't win the race on the first corner. Obviously slightly different agendas from Jarno and myself."

When asked if he would have yielded if Trulli had been going for the championship Coulthard said: "I don't think this has anything to do with the championship, I think it's just common sense. Two cars don't go round a corner with a bit of give and take and I made it quite clear when we entered the corner that I wasn't going to lift, and he should know that and there should be time to react. There was enough of the curb on the inside that is flat that he could have turned in if he felt that I was squeezing him. So I think that irrespective of what it looks like from the outside, if you are a racing driver and you sit in the car, you know the corner, you know the circumstance, you know that it is possible to get two cars through there, but it will involve both giving a bit of room and unfortunately we weren't both able to see eye to eye on this situation but I'd just remind you again I did have track position, I was half a car length in front."
J Colman 07-16-2001 10:14 AM

Very interesting
SCRAPPYDO 07-16-2001 12:26 PM

DC screwed Jarnos RACE.. ARG! I know it was a racing accident, and they happen. But it seemed to me that DC did not give any room to the car beside him. Jarno was at least half way beside him when he got pinched my DC.

Maybe I am baised, or maybe I see things differently... but hitting Jarno, was dumb!

SCRAPPYDO
J Colman 07-16-2001 01:04 PM

I just think they always blame it on each other, no matter who's fault it was
J Colman 07-17-2001 10:51 AM

Did you guys read about Schumachers big crash?
donjuan 07-17-2001 10:55 AM

yeah I saw that

The article I read said that though he was unhurt he took the rest of the day off. He apparently hit the guardrail pretty hard and it caused some significant damage...

Was the track wet?? I read something about "wet condition", but the article wasn't really clear...
J Colman 07-17-2001 10:56 AM
Michael Schumacher has escaped unhurt from a 200mph accident at Monza this morning.

The world champion lost control of his Ferrari at the second Roggia chicane, hitting the barriers and rolling.

Brother Ralf immediately sprung to his assistance, stopping his Williams to check that Michael was okay.

Giancarlo Fisichella, driving right behind the world champion at the time of the crash, described the impact as "violent".

The chicane is the same spot where a marshal was killed at Monza last year. Cars approach the corner in sixth gear, at 205mph, before hitting the braking zone and entering at 70mph.

Schumacher spent 40mins in the medical centre where he looked pale and shaken-up.

Upon "rediscovering his smile", he left to watch CCTV film of the crash.

Ferrari immediately suspended the test while Schumacher has since left for Switzerland with his wife.

Schumacher spokesperson Sabine Kehm said: "Michael lost a rear wheel under braking and the car more or less went straight off the track.

"He had a precautionary check-up and there are no injuries, but obviously the car is damaged and he will not test again today and will go home. He says he's fine and he's looking very calm. It was quite a big accident.

"Mechanical failure has been ruled out so far, but it's too early to say what happened or how fast he was going when he left the track."

I didn't realize it was in a fast section...WHEW!!!
where he looked pale and shaken-up.
NO S#!T!!! I think I'd be a bit pale after that myself.

Hope he's okay and gets some rest...

Is there video of the crash posted anywhere??

Yeah,
I hope he isn't shaken up for too long, now is not the time to take things easy.

Justin
donjuan 07-17-2001 11:13 AM

me too.

Yeah I know what you mean. Even though he may not be INJURED, I would imagine he will have some soreness and pain. Impacts at even low speed can distend and bruise muscles. I know he's in tip-top shape, but that has to make anyone sore.
J Colman 07-17-2001 11:23 AM

I got sore just reading it.

he should have grapped on his tired
