Scooby South 10-11-2004 08:16 PM

bahhhhh....Kiko will beat him.....I have beaten him at a local event ...of course he had the NEON hooked up...hmmmmmmmmm....AWD and Mark Daddio....Tom you can take him....:D..Besides...competition is good...right>?????
Draken 10-11-2004 08:17 PM

Maybe I can convince Mark to co-drive my car, since he occasionally shows up at local events :)

Go for it anyway. You can always improve; now you have a goal. :)

Don't hold your tongue young man.... say what you want. We're all cool here. :D

It doesn't matter what Daddio drives. He'll find the optimum performance for the car. In case you don't get it... it's how you drive the car, not what the car has on it, that makes it fast. :)

So, getting back to basics... drive better.
Orion 10-12-2004 07:58 AM

starting the ****talking a year in advance. Man does that reflect well on the Subie community.

Glad I'm heading to GS next season.

three things. first, tom isn't talking **** yet. second, tom's car was not illegal. third, unfounded accusations reflect worse on a community then anything else.

Draken 10-12-2004 08:13 AM

Good to know moderators can say ****, and make personal attacks against other forum members. Orion: Lead by example dude...and shut the hell up if you aren't talking about ESP, Daddio, or similar subjects. If you like, I'll prep another G-stock 2.5RS next year so you can be one position lower in the standings.

Tom: Mark was also talking quite a bit about getting a Viper GTS Coupe when he was at the GRM booth.

Are you sure he's going to drive it in ESP? Apparently he has an EVO RS and was driving it in SM at an event.

Umm, yes, Tom's car WAS indeed deemed illegal. I still have issues with the PC about that. I shouldn't have mentioned that as technically it's nothing of his doing, it's entirely on the SEB's poor decision.

tom always talks it. sometimes that's fun, but other times it reflects poorly and that's what i was pointing out.

Cool. It'll be nice to see another 2.5 back in GS. Getting beat is old hat for me so if you feel better finishing ahead of me so be it.

DS. I believe the diff availability is taking them all up to D.
dwx 10-12-2004 08:50 AM

Heh perhaps you should read sccaforums.com more often. All of the S's, including the 05 specifically will stay in GS. Was a surprise to many.
Draken 10-12-2004 08:50 AM

Or maybe the Saab 92X Aero!!!!!!!!!

hahahahaha

Edit: Read Fastrack again....Mini S to GS, even with lsd.

dang. maybe i'll have to get the wife's car a bit early then.:)
trhoppe 10-12-2004 09:30 AM

 methinks Orion is a little jealous  I can't believe you aren't over that yet

I wasn't talking ****, but I *will* talk **** to anyone else that runs ESP. Thats part of the sport ;)

It was also a JOKE people. I welcome the competition. ESP will be fun because all the events will be like a national, kind of like it was this year with me and mikey in STX. I learned a lot about "just friggin drive" this year, but I also learned a lot about car setup and the fact that its very important. Most of my car setup is of the "mark daddio" theory, so I respect the guy a lot and it will be a lot of fun if he decides to run the Evo instead of the Viper....

Good luck in GS. Any car thats not an 05 Cooper S = backmarker.

-Tom
Orion 10-12-2004 09:40 AM

Not jealous at all, I'm sure you could have had one helluva run in my 'legal' car.;)
I'm just angered with the ruling parties that's all.

Also, I just get a bit touchy with some of the smack talk that gets posted here since it's become a fairly well known place and word gets around... ...quickly.

I have no aspirations of competing nationally anymore thanks to a wonderful 13 m.o. son. There's just no time to travel beyond Toledo and possibly Peru once a year for the tours for me. Someone's gotta be the snake in the grass when it rains there...
trhoppe 10-12-2004 09:58 AM

To get off topic, I think it was a fair decision. I consulted a lot of people about it and was told that would be the most likely decision way before nationals. Unfortunately it was not early enough to where I could have gotten an official clarification in time. It was an oversight in the rules that the dust shields were not allowed to be modified while bigger rotors were allowd. Also I never "modified" them ;) They were uninstalled and then reinstalled ;)

Whats wrong with smack talk as long as there are plently of  or ;) to go with it???

Dussander 10-12-2004 11:51 AM

Keep your eye on Steve Hoelscher in the NA Supra. I thought the Supra would suck in ESP, but he has been doing some amazing driving on it in stock form. He has access to an awesome Toyota tuner and they think they can get 300 whp out of it. It has a slight handling advantage by having double wishbones all around. His reasoning is, the DSP IS300 can beat the ESP cars (at least on the tight courses). The NA Supra is a better IS300.
trhoppe 10-12-2004 11:53 AM

Interesting.....

Honestly, I'm not keeping my eye on anyone :) I think there will be soooo many people in ESP that if you try to keep your eye on the fast ones, you'll go crazy. I'm just going to worry about how miranda and I drive in the car....

Tom,
I thought you could win ESP if you just put race tires on your STX car??? :disco:
trhoppe 10-12-2004 11:04 PM

I don't think ESP would be as much fun w/o the extra 150HP, 3 LSDs, and 315 Kumhos though ;) I still think that a developed WRX *could* win before the rest of the rally cars ruined it for us this year ;)

I CANNOT wait until next year, although I'm not really looking forward to seeing your guys evo run after a winter of upgrades and tuning  At least we'll have you on the HP ;)

I don't think they make a dyno that will measure the wheel HP of Miranda's STi next year. It will blow the floorboards out....

-Tom
4WDRFT 74 10-12-2004 11:17 PM

450 < is more like it.

Of course her STI will blow off the floorboards; they're attatched to the tranny!!!
