this is a 2 piece kit from gruppe-s. how do you think these would fit on an 02? they look similar to the ones on urs.

i dont see why these wont work. i guess it will have to be a trial and error thing. :D

I like those, but they don't cover the unfinished looking middle section of the bumper.
| elsanto | 04-20-2006 05:26 PM |
i've seen that on the peanut eye models. not sure how it'd work on the buggies. The main reason i wanted it was to cover up the middle section. i have a scooby sport muffler and the tip on it is close to 8" long its massive.

yea, i see what you mean about the middle. would the average DIY'er be able to make the kit that you have fit, or is it somthin' that a body shop would have to tackle? i like doin' my own work and i think i could do it since bodywork has always came natural to me. i think it's fun. :D so, where did you get ur's kit at?

i got the kit from paul eukland at primitive racing great guy and great kit. tell him doug with the wagon and this lip sent you.
I think you could fit it yourself. my body shop offered to do it while they painted it so it waws a no brainer for me. you have to modify the mounting, and they used a lot of 3m panel adhesive. but i think you could do it. i've taken 2 years worth of night classes on autobody and It wasnt an easy job though.

| Jpapania | 04-22-2006 05:51 PM |
I order mine from Japanparts.com. Superfast shipping and was nice to have everything brand new. BigSky didn't you score yours off of eBay Japan? Luck dog.
| Balabok | 04-22-2006 10:40 PM |
Ok, kool. I came across a place in the UK that sells them unpainted. They have other goodies as well. :)
http://www.bell-colvill.co.uk/SubaruShop/Directory.asp?Persist=&Chapter=SB08
"The front splash guard's retail at 42.51 and the rear's are 42.51, to have them shipped over to the USA it will cost 40.65 and take 2-4 days to arrive."
That comes to about $223.00 and I still have to get them painted. Add to that about $60.00 of paint materials from Paintscratch.com.
So I might as well just get them from Japanparts and be done with it.

On my old WRX sedan I got the aero guards from Canada- they were a Subaru option (also unpainted) for pretty cheap. I think I only paid about $25 to have them proffessionally painted.
Unfortunately they appear to not have them anymore.
Yeah I got lucky surfing and hit a Japan (e-bayish site) and picked up a set pretty cheap - had to talk the guy into shipping to the US.
Someone should do a group buy on these things- sedan guys want them to.

I defnitely preferred getting my aero guards from Japanparts since they were already painted and came with everything I needed hardware wise. I agree though, a group buy on these things would probably go really well. I still baffled as to why Subaru does not offer them in the states?

Elsanto was kind enough to point me in the right direction and bought the OEM sedan lip for my wagon. Panic hooked me up with his for $110 shipped which he got from Paul Eklund at www.get-primitive.com. I got an EDM/JDM STI wagon front lip on eBay for $5.50 totalling $65 shipped (the seller listed it with a bad title and description and I happened to recognize it and snatched it up). Doh! I got the Aerosync Mudguards on eBay for $19 and free shipping. Now I'm looking for strakes and an 02-03 STI scoop before I paint it all and install it. I already have the zerosports grille and realized when I got it done how faded and chipped my sonic yellow nose it from the LIE. So I'll need to have everything painted again to match. I'm also considering painting the rear lip center diffuser piece Anthrecite color to match my Prodrive P1s and look closer to the OEM plastic color.
What do you think?
I may have it all done before I score the strakes and scoop just because I'm really too excited to get it done and see how it looks already. I'm going on vacation this month so hopefully it will all get done in June. I promise to come back and post pics when it's done.

I just finished up adding some more power and suspension bits to the car, so I'm hoping to get back to concentrating on getting the body done soon.

It requires using a heat gun on the side pieces to make them malleable enough to reform around the bumper corners.
