I just got it installed and repainted and coated. I dont know how long these images will last on imageshack. I will host it properly on my website in a couple of weeks. Here are a few early pics.
I debadged the trunk and now all I need are the hood pins on the trunk.

Love the wing. Know where to get the 2006 WRC Gear? Body panels, scoops, and intercooler and radiator setup? I want it all w/ graphics on an '06
The wing ended up costing me $2500 with the entire repaint.
IMO that was a huge waste of money. There are so many better things you can spend $2500 on. If you are planning in getting the widebody kit you should've waited until then to install the wing. It just doesn't look right. Sorry

The wing is sexy but I don't get where you're going stylewise. Debadged for the subtle sleeper look with a ultra trick, very flashy WRC wing?
| njskatchmo | 12-17-2005 11:27 AM |
How much does that block your rear view?
| Rallycarperson | 12-17-2005 12:27 PM |
IMO, I would have went with the 01-03 wing without those wing dividers. Actually if I were you, I would have gone a WRC wide body and wingless. Kudos to you though for being different though. ;)

That's what makes it real!!! That's like saying you love Dolly Parton without the huge BOOBS and cheap hairdo!
Now since this wing was developed to keep the WRC's car from landing on the front grill (from the nifty downforce) on a 120mph whoop-de-doo 6 feet in the air... even if it is perhaps the ugliest wing ever built, what does it matter.
To drive down to pick up my dry cleaning and a pizza with this wing...? Rear view? It's not about who you can see, it's about who can see YOU, eh?

Here are a couple pics of my 02 WRX with the Prodrive WRC wing on it. The wing was pruchased at Prodive in the UK by my sister back in 2003 as a b-day gift. Any how, STi-Jag, the new wing looks killer. Keep us informed on the progress. http://us.a2.yahoofs.com/users/43f6d125zfb0b119c/8fdd/__sr_/834d.jpg?phoZK.DBu01iEklr

Nice.
I give props to those with the balls and money that I lack to be able to progress to a WRC replica.
When I got mine, I asked my wife if she would mind me putting the full sticker set on it, and all I got was an odd look.
Keep it up. :disco:

Glad that 1) people here are honst, and 2) _this_ is your support group.
Personally, I like the WRC up-do that Subaru has given the STi for competition, and while, _perhaps_ it is mildly out of place in a road-car due to the lack of 'creature comforts', to me, the whole look of the Impreza screams aggression, and could stand to be complimented. Also, don't forget that he _did_ mention that this one of many steps toward that final look, and I wish him ALL the best of luck in avoiding negative attention from 'Johnnie Law', and being able to afford the complete transition.
That said, Maybe the wing on it's own is a bit much, but think of the bigger picture, and the spirit of the whole project. I'm a fan of Rally Cars, and be honest: Who of use would know the Impreza if it weren't for the WRC or Gran Turismo?
Just like the older L versions, and even the current 2.5 TL or whatever they're calling it now looks kinda weak compared to the WRX,and the WRX weak compared to the STi, and the STi weak compared to a wide-body conversion with full WRC dress-up gear. Even more props if half of it is functional. I say go for it. It's quite a project, an immense commitment, and when completed, it will very likely be one of a kind. Wear your passion in a fashon that can't be broken by nay-sayers. When it's done, watch their jaws drop, and sit back and laugh.

The only time i would consider something JDM is if the car was produced from the factory with that option(in Japan of course). That's how it should be, the phrase JDM is completely over-used and out of context much too often.
Wing looks good, will look better with the other supporting mods, keep us updated.
