Carbon Wide Body Kit part 17

Scoobyslack1 02-08-2006 02:36 PM

maybe by the time it's done I'll have all the mechanical modifications completed (probably not but maybe) ;)
thahaminator 02-08-2006 02:38 PM

I recently spent the widebody fund so, take your time for perfection Steve.
spiralsmurf 02-08-2006 02:41 PM

the gc8 will be 10 years old before that kit is made. we've been waiting for YEARS
EJ205rulezall 02-08-2006 02:43 PM

Its about time. That kit looks nice. Cheers for the effort put forth to create a kit like this!

as year models are manufactured and sold the prior year of their release.

i.e 06 impreza out in 2005

If you want a GC8 wide-body kit now, check out www.mature-jp.com I inquired about the cost of their kit and have posted their reply below (my original message is at the bottom).

There is mail thank you. I say masubuchi of mature.
Q&A
1.Reception desks are exchanged. FRP rear doors are exchanged.
FRP rear fender is put. Smoothing(rivet & patty)
2.Rear door + one side of rear fender 60mm width
It does up to 245 like 3.4WD. @I think that 265 is also possible if it
remodels it to 2WD(FR).
4.There is no route now. It examines it.

The translation software is used.
It might be hard to read.
Thank you.

Dear Sirs:
I'm very interested in the GC8 WRC kit. I have a few questions:
1. Do the your front and rear fenders completely replace the OEM fenders or are they applied over the OEM fenders?
2. How much wider are your rear fenders compared to the OEM fenders?
3. What is the widest tire that can be fitted when using your rear fenders?
4. Do you have any vendors in the US that carry your products?

Thank you very much!

What about the HK Auto flares?

Last I saw they had them for GCs and GMs. Lot cheaper than the Japanese stuff although shipping is probably the same (UK).

I've written the Aerosim stuff off. If it shows up great, but people need to move on.

The flares don't actually widen the car and look crappy. You get what you pay for.
Erconcepts 02-09-2006 09:57 PM

I can't believe this thread is still around, I think we all have the idea in the back of our minds to have a 22b replica.
scoobyimpreza 02-17-2006 02:44 PM

move on? its only been 5 years man! give it sometime! hahaha

Wow this is no doubt the longest running thread I have ever seen on any forum. 5 years and people are still posting.
iamchris 02-17-2006 06:47 PM

Wow that's an ugly kit.
Lachlan 02-17-2006 06:48 PM

Wow you're a noob.
circaisdashiat 02-18-2006 12:21 AM

are these kits still avalible?
Wayne_Coots 02-18-2006 07:56 AM

We are waiting for the kits to become available.
are these kits still avalible?
have you seen the first page?

or do you suffer from "Post now, read later"

just to let you know, this idea was proposed and thread created 4-14-2001
AlbanianImpreza 02-19-2006 09:59 AM

this. is. a. lost. cause.
psyber_0ptix 02-19-2006 10:07 AM

someone should lock this thread already.

IF there are any updates, they can always make a new thread or vendor announcement.

this is just mindless posting with lost hope until further notice

Yes we know its been a long time
Yes we know they moved locations
Yes we know they need help laying the CF
Yes we know the molds are done
No we dont know if it will happen

thats all there is to it. people dont bother reading the thread because its 20 pages long. they just post at the end when the answers were buried 6 feet under other "is it done yet, when" posts.

end this thread and let them make a new one WHEN it is available. i've unsubscribed now as theres no point checking back here
IMPREZA619 02-27-2006 01:04 PM
We are looking into a few companies to lay the carbon. The Molds are done, but if you know Steve, he is all about quality and he will not have just anyone lay the carbon for him. There are 2 companies that we are looking into. Herr Vonster and another company that does custom CF bits.

The Carbon Fiber widebody will come!

Thank you for your patience.
YES!!!! 5 more years!

apparently, to the rest of the subaru community, our longest lived body style is deemed classic.

"hey that 5 year old car over there? its classic [insert 2001 impreza here]"
jnorth85 02-27-2006 02:19 PM

lol yea, that sucks i love the "classic" 2000 i have!

Hear! Hear! I second the motion to have this locked until such time that an actual body kit has been produced and installed on a vehichle (a car belonging to a customer) so that we shall see that it exists.

Lock this thread? what's wrong with you people...

if you don't want to read about it anymore, no one is making you

JUST DON"T OPEN THE LINK!

and find something better to do than complain about things that do not in anyway impact you.

Anxiously awaiting completion of this kit since day 1

Chris

(not really a newbie had my RS since new in '98)

I agree... this thread is an institution to the old school RS guys... heck, I'm 2 cars past my RS (may she rest in peace), and still read this thread...

viva la carbon wide body kit... :D
cdvma 02-28-2006 01:39 PM

Good luck getting the carbon...there is a mega shortage right now.
super-ru 02-28-2006 04:06 PM

I remember wanting this kit forever ago, I've since sold my rs, bought a wrx, sold it, and bought an STI, haha.
20Sti05 02-28-2006 04:13 PM

Its Alive!!!!!
Sauceboy01 03-13-2006 06:10 PM

so... nothing new yet i presume.
t3hWIT 03-13-2006 07:54 PM

I'd prefer a fiberglass kit, and the amount of body work necessary to make it fit is irrevelant, as long as it matches the price of the kit.

Gotta get 10 inch wide Volks donchano
t3hWIT 03-13-2006 07:55 PM

Damn. I would gladly lay the carbon for them.

Edit: ooo post #1000

Do I get a prize?

You can buy a 22b replica kit in fiberglass from the UK now.

http://www.htautos.co.uk/first.html

http://www.htautos.co.uk/9.html

I will probably end up going through them if nothing local materializes soon. My STi swap is complete and the widebody is necessary to get enough rubber under the the car without rubbing.
Jonnyfilmboy 04-30-2006 05:48 PM

Wow, who on earth is going to be able to afford the carbon fiber body kit? There's such a shortage of CF now that this kit will cost upwards of $5,000 just to purchase it, let along install it, paint it, get wider rims, replace your wheel bearings every 3000 miles, etc.

The APR widebody kit is like $3000 or something and it's FRP. If someone could afford this kit in carbon fiber, they would just go buy a new gray market S204 and have it imported! New car, same exclusivity, blah blah blah, I'm done.
Keshav 04-30-2006 10:09 PM

Yep. Since it is just getting painted over anyway, fiberglass FTW.
rs2.5-3.0 04-30-2006 11:09 PM

no 22b style bumpers? go figure.
jimbobrand 05-01-2006 10:07 AM
no 22b style bumpers? go figure.
They sell the front bumper as well but its fiberglass:

I'd still rather have the CF Widebody
petawabit 05-01-2006 08:19 PM

1800 for 2 front fenders, rear quarters and side skirts? That's quite a bit. It looks nice though
AlbanianImpreza 05-01-2006 08:36 PM

benz kits arent that much!
