Good time for a Rumor...

I hear that Mike King, Darrin Disimo and Andy Holis are going to have QUITE the battle in STS2...;)
All I can say is the battle in STS2 is going to be an interesting even if it is not for 1st since the class is going to be atleast 20 cars deep. Since there are 18 registered now and my codriver and myself just registered this evening.
alltracin 01-26-2007 10:16 PM

STS should be awesome as well! 15 entries! 1st place is all here though
GTB/ZR-1 01-27-2007 08:48 PM

That ZR-1 is prepped very nicely, and Jim Ink is a decent driver as mentioned by Bill. It does well on runway-style courses (what he normally runs).
It makes good power (nearly 400 RW), as it was worked on by South Ga Corvette (my friend & tuner), and runs 12 & 13" CCWs w/ 315/335s--nice car...

That being said, the Subies will be way too much for it on the type of course they'll have in GA, which is a more traditional type-site for auto-x.
crystalhelix 01-27-2007 11:45 PM

wow BSP will be a fun class to compete in there...

seems like so far the nor-east events are not high in BSP people...

if it wasn't so far away and I didn't want to ski this winter it would be fun to come down and meet up with all the guys I haven't met yet..

Looks good bill...what's with the roof fins? still got some wussy magnets on there:p . I am working on a WWII fighter/military looking theme on mine for this year, finished up some of the flat black work on the hood...should look pretty sharp. My car will be in a local autoshow until the 18th of feb so it would be hard to get it from the show and the next weekend drive all the way down to Georgia, I need time to dial in my ZZYZX setup and see if the spring-rates I chose work for my driving style...in pittsburgh autocross doesn't start till April/May:(

Ugh. We're having issues with getting our hankooks shaved. We're going with a new tire this year and won't have an event to adjust our setup and tune tire pressures between now and then. SO yeah, lookout for the monster setup tune DURING the race.

...don't worry, we'll still win
Crash477 01-29-2007 07:28 PM

Bill, your car looks great!
Scooby South 01-29-2007 07:42 PM

Scooby South 02-13-2007 07:44 AM

I am surprised Steven (Pleiades) isn't playing...
AUTOwrXER 02-13-2007 11:42 AM

Isn't his car caged now for track and hillclimb events?
alltracin 02-13-2007 11:45 AM

A little bird told me auto-x isn't his primary focus this year *cough sponsor*
thrdeye 02-13-2007 11:52 AM

yep, dats what he said in Topeka last year.
AUTOwrXER 02-13-2007 12:19 PM

In other news, Weather.com shows upper 60s and low 70s for the event. Of course forecasting 10+ days out is ridiculous, but that would be nice...

Get that horn installed yet? *cough* *protest* *cough*

New tires ordered.
First outing with the new goodies went well. Maybe I'll get the last little electronics wired in.

Good to hear from you, punk. I'll actually be driving someone else's car for a change.

The horn was never a factor in your piss-poor attempt at a mind ****, but you can keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better about driving a sissymobile :D I'm familiar with 15.2.F ;)
Scooby South 02-13-2007 05:19 PM

^^^^ Hahahahaha^^^^^
sti752 02-13-2007 07:45 PM

Joel will be driving a stompy wannabe. We'll see how well the wannabe can do in two weekends.

You got it Mr. Redlight.

I'll be back down for Mirrorkana again this year so you can try for a rematch. If you make it that far.

Oh and it's a chick car driven by teh buttpirate. And I'm hoping to have a "Dirty old man" from the north as a codriver for your lil' pseudo-Prosolo shindig. So you'll have twice the chance of getting beaten as you did last year. You could even have both loses to a "sissymobile." Wouldn't that be fun.

Teh ButtPirate
AUTOwrXER 02-13-2007 10:30 PM

I look forward to embarasing you this year :)

That's too small to be an SM wing. :p
Scooby South 02-14-2007 07:49 AM

Just some quick info that I got last night at our Autocross meeting:

Thurs the 22nd..will be a ProSolo test for the new format...
Fri: Dial in practice starting at 2pm

Race gas will be in the leaded variety....and should be available onsite

Tech will held on Fri...not sure if its going to be at the event hotel or the site...I would assume the site...for now..
Course is going to have a Good mix of stuff...tight, sweeper.Slalom, pivot cone and should be in the 50-60 second range...maybe more...

Parking is going to be murder...especially folks with haulers and trailers...

thats all I know for now..:)

C'mon baby....almost time to win a trophy..:)

Bill
thrdeye 02-14-2007 08:43 AM

Hmm....there was plenty of room for trailers last time I was down there....but, there weren't 250 registered at that event. More like 175.

We ran a 60+ second course then, too.

Has a run/work order been posted?

Well, considering I may be coming in on Friday Night, what's going on for tech on Saturday?

Who would I need to contact?

AUTOwrXER 02-14-2007 02:37 PM

You can tech and register on Saturday morning. Just be there EARLY (and bring a jacket).
Crash477 02-14-2007 02:54 PM

Sounds good.
Crash477 02-14-2007 03:18 PM

So where is everyone staying? I may have 1 or 2 people comign down with me, if so I need to book a room.. otherwise I would like to crash on someones floor.. Where is a good place, with free WiFi??
thrdeye 02-14-2007 03:51 PM

I think the rowdy bunch from ETR is at the Days Inn in Valdosta.

Might as well stay in Valdosta since you have to go there to get food anyway.
