I am really looking forward to it, The CRXs sat for two years, and I am in the middle of changing one of them to STS2 specs, so we are going to see if the first gen can challenge.
-Subaru, Kumho, Hoosier, Hawk Brake are among the 2007 contingencies.
Where'd you get the contingency info? I'm only seeing the 2006 info.
Phil and I are thinking about it. It'd certainly be nice to see our Florida and Georgia friends again. And to cut 2 months off our "off season". But it's too far for us for a Tour. So we'd need to find a co-drive, find an appropriate flight, rent a car, etc.

Signed up. Hopefully I'll have the car done in time. That is damn early for this part of the country. I guess if it's cold the 2wd guys will be even more upset.

if I only still lived in Macon....it would be on! Too bad I moved to IL...we have to wait until April 8th just for a test and tune! :)

You won't have to worry about it if I have anything to do with it!
PWN3D!
Just make sure you are running the right stickers for your contingencies, make sure you get teh correct tires on your registration form. If you win, you submit the forms to the mfg. for your claim. Some contingecies have to be registered with the SCCA beforehand.

at the event.....
| Pacobeagle | 01-16-2007 08:25 AM |
Make sure that you bring magnetic material to place stickers on....I didn't and when removing the stickers......I peeled off the clearcoat on the car! Now I've got the pleasure of saving up $$ for a paintjob. Oh well, the car is several years old and is showing its age.
So how do we get these stickers? I have Subaru, Falken, and Hawk listed as my contingencies..
Make sure you also fill out the forms. There is usually one form for each company for each type of event.
So assuming (for the sake of argument) the same contingency programs for 2007 as for 2006. If (for instance) you compete at 1 Pro, 1 NT, and at Nationals, you'd need to fill out the Subaru ProSolo contingency form & the Hawk ProSolo form. Falken didn't offer contingency money, and Subaru and Hawk only offered contingencies for ProSolos, not for NTs or for Nationals. But if Subaru did offer 2007 contingency for NTs, Nationals, and for ProSolos (unlikely), you would have to fill out 3 separate Subaru forms - one for each type of event.

They'll have stickers at the event. Some you get for free, the Hawk, TireRack, Subaru, others you have to buy, the SCCA, ATI (I think that one is Pro only), I think it's a total of $3 for the ones you have to purchase for a Tour this year but I'm not positive as it does change year to year. You can either wait until the event to get them or you can contact the National office and ask to have some sent. Getting them before hand gives you plenty of time to get them on magnetic material and\or your car without the stress of having to deal with one more thing that weekend. Our first Tour ever we had to try to put on the TireRack window banner in a downpour Saturday morning, not fun.
You can download the contingency forms online and either fax them to the National office or bring them with you to registration, faxing them is the preferred method for those who have to work registration but bring a hard copy with you to your first event to make sure. Most contingency awards you have to be signed up before the event. Karen or one of the other impound workers will be checking your car at impound for what type of tire is on it and that you have the appropriate stickers on the car.

Thanks Bill!
And it was mentioned earlier that Falken has contingency this year. It was actually on one of the .pdfs.. not sure which one it was.
I looked at the contingency forms for 2006, just waiting to see if they release new ones for 2007, or if they remain the same. I did email one of the listed people on the current 06 forms, and requested the stickers so I could do them ahead of time.
Thanks alot guys for the info!

The ZR-1 is not the best Vette for the class. It weighs far too much to be competitive. The C4 combo is the 84 chassis with the Grand Sport motor, plus a mix of rear ends and other bits. The ZR-1 is a cool car though. It was still the fastest Corvette by top speed until the C6 ZO6 (even faster than the C5 ZO6).
I'm looking forward to seeing the BSP Z car! I'm NOT looking forward to seeing the difference between my hack driving self in a car for the first time and Darrin Disimo.
The Z car is one of our own...Russ Clark who competed in AS in his STi..for the last 3 years...looking forward to see this speciman for sure but Russ says it won't be anywhere NEAR where it needs to be...according to Russ...
Good time for a Rumor...
I hear that Mike King, Darrin Disimo and Andy Holis are going to have QUITE the battle in STS2...;)

I have raced against this particular car 4 times now...only beaten him once...granted most of the time he drives it in Ft. Meyers where this person actually designs the courses down that way...Ft. Meyers Tour event, 2SE Region divisionals (which one of them I beat him and Florida State Championship... he's a good driver in decently prepped car..Last I talked to him...he's getting Moton's or some other exotic stuff...he has 2 sets of Hoosiers...1 for 'practice' and 1 for race....both are HRE wheel equipped$$$$$ It will be a good battle..for sure....I am looking forward to running with all this competition...:)

:) that's o.k., my brother would be a rank beginner and not hoping to be competitive anytime soon. Mostly, it's just that when I mentioned it, his first reply was "man, that'll just be too hard on the car, at least at first!". Hence my happy surprize that someone races one (and it apparently doesn't explode).
I'm just trying to get him out there having some fun. I think he -wants- to try it, but is just hesitant is all.
