Formula One, Round 6, Grand Prix of Spain part 2

lil'redwagon 05-14-2006 02:22 PM

is it not being aired on the west coast?!? i can't find it! UGH! so pissed at cbs coverage!
bemani 05-14-2006 02:24 PM

It's over ... 9 - 11 on cbs.
Felipe Massa's useless! Not doing anything to help Ferrari against Renault.
ptclaus98 05-14-2006 02:33 PM

Who won? I missed the last eleven.
Who won? I missed the last eleven.
Alonso won, followed by Schumi, and then Fisichella. :(
Bonzo 05-14-2006 02:59 PM

FA pretty much outclassed everyone.

DD and Ralph just don't have any chemistry and/or comeraderie. Just the two of them makes it that much more difficult. I am looking forward to SpeedTV's coverage once again.
finnRex 05-14-2006 04:01 PM

Looks like another sub-par weekend for ol' McLaren. Kimi admitted that his car didn't have the pace, and Montoya had his share of frustrations as well.

Seems to me the fight is going to be between the determined Spaniard and Herr Schumacher. It'd be nice to see Honda and McLaren in the fight, but they're off the race pace.

Bonzo, correct you are:).

Dussander 05-14-2006 04:44 PM

My local station didn't even play the first 30 minutes of the race and the pq looked aweful. DD and Ralph make me want to just turn off the sound so I don't have to listen to their 'tarded remarks. I'm so annoyed I have to watch the Monaco race with those bozos. I can't figure out why the PQ has to suck so bad.
It is a crappy year to be a McLaren fan.
Felipe Massa's useless! Not doing anything to help Ferrari against Renault.
I don't know about that. He did a fine job of not holding Michael up for too long.

You think so? Yeah, he's not as quick as Schumi is, but I don't think Michael will ever take a #2 driver that is as quick as him(exception maybe next year with Kimi?). Massa's consistency has gone sky high though compared to previous seasons.

Mann... I got scared at the end of the final lap. I thought Alonso was about to spin out on the last straight!!

Stupid Alonso! Brilliant drive though.

you DID see the race right? massa had an excellent race. he even set the fastest lap of the race! what should he do? run alonso and fisichelia (sp?) off the road? ferrari did well, but it was the alonso show. even schumacher said he wasnt held up by fisichelia and he just wasnt on pace with alonso for most of the race. nobody was slowing down alonso. i dont know about anyone else, but i LOVE the renault vs. ferrari rivalry that is going on right now. seemed like they were the only two teams who had a good day
bemani 05-14-2006 05:49 PM

Considering the Alonso scored higher than Michael, the thing Felipe needed to do was score higher than fizzycola, which he didn't do. All he did was kept his spot. If he really was driving so well, he could've easily chased fizzycola down. Near the end of the race he was only around 4 seconds off.
REXLR8 05-14-2006 06:05 PM

yes that is true. that would have been great to see massa chase down fizzycola (lol). but i still say he did alright. at least he kept up! haah

You and me both! Got us out of the midpack in the standings, as some of those ahead of us finished down about 20 pts. Mmmm, donuts! ;)

I saw Alonso doing the warm-up wiggle, and thought the same thing, that he had lost it in the last turn!

Live Timing
I just noticed that ESPN.com has some sort of live tracker for today's race. Not sure what all it will have but it might be worth checking out.

edit: Well, I never got this to work and the link off of ESPN's webpage seems to have dissappeared.
Formula1.com's live timing has been the best thing that I have seen...

Is there something better out there to follow a F1 race live?
KAX 05-15-2006 02:46 PM

I just wish someone would do a "F1 Delayed Timing", so i can watch that while i watch the races on CBS at 1:00. That way I can focus on the sound of the cars, the video, and the laptimes on my comp, and then tune out DD and Ralph. This race was a dissappointment, nothing entertaining at all.

and for Kimi's DC chances, hes given up on it, so i guess i should too. Just hope he can win a race or two. And give michael another championship, anyone but alonso.
MattDell 05-15-2006 03:06 PM

Are the GP2 races still entertaining? I haven't watched the past two of them.

I think the last race was great, except for Lewis Hamilton's retarded teammate taking him out of the lead in the last lap. Jerk.
