Im torn between the JDM and UK lights.
Id go with the JDM outright, but i've heard the UK lights look really good on a black car.
Input? :)

if money wasn't an issue, i really can't understand how anyone in their right mind would pick morrettes over sti headlights. sti are just so much cleaner looking. plus, cars with unpainted morrettes look really disgusting, except black.

money is definately an issue. also, the morettes are readily available in LHD beam pattern. They also completely rid the car of the bug-eye look. However, the bug eye look has grown on me a lot, and I think the STI is a great way to enhance the style of it

Thanks! I really like the way they look. Even better in person, I might add. ;)

i know you guys are all about jdm and blah blah blah, but i am all about $$$$:D. can ANYONE post pics of the imitaion jammys for like $150, maybe even with painted or something, cause they sorta look like the jdm..what do you guys think.

like i said b4 the JDM (RHD) or EDM (LHD version) are the way to go i'm still wondering with the STI coming out in a few more months (i hope) will the JDM/EDM headlights price go down some since you could go straight to almost any dealership and get them
| kenchan | 10-24-2002 03:16 PM |
i was checking out the BestMotoring video's from Sept 2002 and the new JDM lights are the same as ours USDM.

UK300 then Oricari then ... (depends on the car) I like the Morettes and the JDM. The JDM could be passed off as OEM by 99% of the population, so why spend so much dough for little to no recognition, unless they really work better than the rest.
I personally am looking for some UK300s or Oricaris for a decent price. Anyone want to trade for new bike parts?

Not to rain on your parade, but I'm pretty sure the first STi we're getting is the 2004 in 2003... not the GDA/GDB. :(

It's all about balance
1 Attachment(s)
I guess it all depends on the overall front look of the car. IMHO, the JDMs really need to be balanced out with a lower lip which makes a pretty nice looking front end.
The Morettes on the other hand reduce the awkward look of the OEM bug eye and small front lip (making it look less like Tweety bird driving at mach-one and more like Sylvester with an angry face)
So Morettes have my vote for OEM front lip but JDM if you get a lower, deeper lip.
My 0.02

Does anyone have a profile pics of Morettes???

morrete look like uncompleted product, if there's a piece of cover on it, it'll look way nicer.......hum....isn't that JDM if Morrette has a cover? humm....
| NeoteriX | 10-27-2002 09:57 PM |
My vote goes to the Morettes. Completely unpainted or completely painted, they look pretty ****ty, but partially painted, they remind me of BMWs... Angry as hell BMWs... :)

Definitely like the JDM's over the Morrettes. When i first got my car, I thot the Morrette's looked nice, but when i looked into it more, it looked funky. If that was the only options I had, I would definitely go JDM.
But I opted to go for the WRC ociari lights instead. I think those look badass!
:D
How about this Ociari headlight, WRC grill, Pkzo WRC Hood vent on WR blue wagon?

I think the Morettes look great on the black wrx but the other colors not so good, even when they are painted they just don't look right...
If you have black then either way is nice otherwise I would go with the JDM! IMHO :D
Here is one of the Morettes on the Vishnu WRX project car.

And here are some JDM's (I'm pretty sure) from Turbo Mag.

Avedis, I have some Morettes coming in soon and I also want to have that half-painted look. What does the paint look like on the edges where the blue paint meets the black? Is it easy to have a nice sharp division or is it kind of up to the paint shop where to end the blue and begin the black?
I like how you've painted both the "eyelids" and the inner part, so everything looks glossy.

The paint shop didn't have any trouble doing it. They're kind of creased where the colour changes, so it shouldn't be too difficult to replicate. Just print up as many pictures of the partial-painted morettes as you can and give 'em to the paint shop. That's what I did. :)
