I want Petter to win. why not have his first ever WRC wim be after he has been doing so well. I know Gronholm wont crash becouse there is no reason for him to win and he can place top 3 with 1/4 effort it seems.

Can anybody beat Gronholm and the Peugeots?
Unless Peugeot has all the top drivers (which I doubt), there has to be an advantage with the car. I hope Subie has made enough improvements to next year's car to make up the difference.

Both Burns and McRae went off and lost some time. But they are pressing hard to make up the time. They're already knocking on Tommi's back door at the end of stage 6, even though they were down several places after their off.
Right now McRae is in front of Burns, but by less than 2 seconds. Tommi's knocking on Rovanpera's back door, only 3 seconds away.
Hang in there Petter (and Petter's Subie). :)

Right now Hyundai is ahead of Skoda and Mitsu. In fact they have all three of their drivers ahead of the other two Manufacturers's drivers. But it looks like unless the right people retire from the leading positions they won't get any points. It's looking like the Hyundai has the advantage.

he won SS7 by lest then .05 of a sec.

Mistu has another horriable crash, luckly no one was hurt this time. I'm not a big fan of the Ralliart cars but they have been though hell this year. With the season over hopefully they can start rebuilding the team's morale.
Marko and Petter one two is amazing, both great drivers, both future champs.
Would'nt mind seeing Sainz get a good finish either.

I believe next year's chassis is still a GD chassic, just updated w/ the new design cues.

WAY TO GO PETTER!!
personally, I don't really see it as the Pugs dominating, rather Gronholm dominating the season. Especially lately, Petter has been running quite competitively with the other Pugs.
Tommi had a MUCH rougher season than I though he would.
Is it too early to start predicting next season's results? ;) :D

The taste of things to come is Marko Martin! But, Ford would be insane not to keep Saniz around as a big gun for Marko to learn from. Petter will be top 3 next year, but Marko won't be far behind.
Anyone know how Pat Richards finished?
2 best moments - when Mills thought they were done for and assumed the postion, and when Passonen (sp?) wrecked within feet of Markus. Oh, and when Delecoir (woa sp!?) mouthed off to his navigator for calling a turn too late and ending their rally. "10 times too late! no, 100 times too late! 100 times too $@!@@# late!"

Shockwave, I am a huge Tommi fan since he joined Subaru and I'm surprised he has struggled so much this year. If anything the Subaru team will continue to benefit from his being part ot the team.
Congrats to Solberg and the Subaru team.

From Rally-Live.com
After a sensational finale to the Rally of Great Britain, the last round of the 2002 FIA World Rally Championship, 555 Subaru driver Petter Solberg has claimed the first victory of his WRC career. With the Drivers' Championship secured earlier in the season by Marcus Gronholm, and the Manufacturers' Championship already wrapped up by Peugeot, all eyes were on the battle between two of the WRC's most talented young drivers - Ford's Markko Martin and Subaru's Petter Solberg.
In a tense struggle for the top spot, the pair traded stage wins over the last four stages, but it was the Subaru star, and Welsh co-driver Phil Mills, that had the edge. In dry and bright weather conditions, 27-year-old Petter delivered a mature and calculated performance to overturn Martin's overnight advantage and take a momentous win. His Estonian rival finished 24.4 seconds behind in second, with the final podium spot going to Carlos Sainz, a further 1 minute 11.3 seconds back in third.
Petter's win not only brought him a hugely popular WRC victory, but by claiming the maximum 10 drivers' points he also secured second place in the 2002 Drivers' Championship, ahead of far more experienced drivers. It was a fitting end to the Norwegian's season, which has seen him consistently improve throughout the year, notching up 35 stage wins and five podium finishes in the process.
I am so beside myself with joy!
I have been rooting for Petter all -season, and I KNEW he was gonna win one this year, and to take 2nd overall for the season is simply spectacular!
Not to mention that it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy, I had the honor of meeting him this year and even having a beer (or 2 or 3) with him.
Petter=r0x0r!
Here's a pic of Petter with my MOMZ! (seriously :) )
