^ The WL bar is only 11lbs eh... I would have thought it was heavier.
What's even more interesting, is that the Strano hollow bar along with the necessary endlinks and extra bushings comes in at 12lbs - so any weight savings in running that hollow bar over the whiteline is lost.
It would be if it wasn't made of aluminum.
Honest mistake... :o

Hey all... figured I would throw a little update in here. I am still the only car running this big ole bar... have for a while now with no issues, except the heim joint endlinks chatter a bit but thats no biggie.
Perhaps since the season is over/winding down Niles can get to making some of these.
I have done 2 events so far with the bar and I definitely like it, and have driven around town plenty with it, luckily my control arm is still in good shape :D

^ Close clearance between the bar and that bolt for the steering rack bracket, some strano FSB's have contacted that and needed it to be shaved down slightly, so far none of our bars have rubbed on that bolt though.

Can I get some info on the rod ends you are using for the endlinks, i.e. part number, website to purchase, etc. Looking to make my own endlinks for another application.

The guy who actually builds the bars found and ordered those links... I do believe they were from McMasterCarr.... I will get you a part number eventually... :D

Ordered mine, and suspect it will be here sometime later this week, and I am hoping (fingers crossed) that the new coil-overs will be here the week after.

www.mcmaster.com, search for "Ball Joint Linkages".
They have a lot of other rod ends, too, but it looks like the type in the picture above has a lot more mis-alignment than the ones that don't have a built-in stud.

Sorry, but are you saying the built-in stud is worse for this application? In his with these installed the rear of the car is off the ground.

One of the specs on rod ends is "misalignment". It's how many degrees the ball can swivel. I was saying that it looks like the ones with the built-in stud can pivot more than the ones without the built-in stud. Depending on the swaybar arrangement, that can be important.
I've never actually made my own ball joint endlinks (although I think I will shortly for my miata), so I don't know which style is the best in terms of longevity and stuff. But the ones like the picture are cheap enough you can just replace them every year.

-Mike
Ahh, sorry when I hear misalignment I think of negative connotations. The increased range of motion, greater misalignment, is why I am interested in these ball links. Mcmaster also has rubber shielded linkages. Might be a better choice for DD/Autocross vehicles.
Sorry to get OT guys

Hi Guys,
If you are looking for sealed ball endlinks you can also find C5 corvette peices for relatively cheap. There are two reasons I picked the ones I did 1) high misalignment (a good thing ;) ) and 2)adjustable endlinks allow you to account for pre-load and fitment. Being relatively inexpensive they were the go to choice over the more expensive sealed units.
Oh... And in the picture taken with the camera under the engine, keep in mind the back of my car is on the ground and the front is 2.5 feet in the air. That link drops straight down at ride height, same as stock. :)
Happy new year everyone!
