wow!! at only $495.00 it is a steal !!!
 What a rip. I could build something like that for less than $200, have it look near OEM, etc. Measuring IC temps is something you wouldn't look at constantly anyways. It would be something you put on before a big mod like an intercooler change and then took before and after measurements. Otherwise it doesn't do much but look pretty.
I currently have a similar setup with ambient air temperature being measured outside the pipes. According to their description it seems that they put thermocouples inside the pipes, which will disrupt the airflow.
What have I learned from this:
-The hoodscoop is functional...duh.
-The engine gets hot...duh.
-When it is hotter outside the engine gets hotter...duh
-The IC water sprayer is most effective when air is flowing over the intercooler (ie the car is in motion)...sort of duh.

yes, it is a lot of money. But if you want something that nobody else has, you have to pay. Until someone else makes one, expect the price to stay the same. There is no reason to discount something and continue price erosion if there is no competition.

Mr Prosport^^^^, I just ordered a Prem boost and a Performance oil preasure in green for my 04. Just wondering if the wires are long enough, or if I will have to add wire. I hope there an easy install. I have never installed guages before.

Depending on where you go for your ground, I would have some spare wire, butt connectors and side wire connectors-the ones that fold over onto the wire you are splicing into.
for the prem. series wiring is as follows:
red- constant power
blk-ground
white-acc. power
orange-headlights power

I suggest you connect the orange lead to the parking lights, not the headlights. This way if you are in a parking lot or do not have your main beams on, you still have gauge illumination like the rest of your dash.
For the white lead, I suggest you go for the IGN power instead of the ACC. This would take away any buzzers and additional draw if you are parked listening to the radio. The only exception to this is a voltage gauge if you have one.

Sham,
Sometimes orders slip by and get shipped before we have a chance to advise on any backorders... as far as the rattle of the button, more than likely while you were removing the gauge from the box the twisting motion turned the outer bezel. If you hold the body and gently twist the outer bezel you can turn it so that the hole through the lens touches the shaft of the button and in doing so will not allow the button to rattle against the lens.

Peosport Gauges, so whats the word when your getting the oil pres in stock. Because I had everything set up for a weekend install, and thats why I got so pissed off. No one gave a notice, I just got a little note in my boost box. Please let me know, and I would suggest figuring out another way of letting customers know about back orders.

prosport premium series boost gauges seriously blow. or maybe its just the sender that blows. ive had a problem with my prosport premium series boost gauge ever since i got it new from prosport. the gauge reads a few psi higher than actual. the higher the boost, the more the error. at about 20 psi, as read from my ecu, im seeing 22-23 on the gauge. when the engine is off, the gauge reads 0. the gauge and sender are grounded and supplied power by the same point. sender gets the boost signal from a tee from the manifold where the bpv connects. awhile ago, prosport said they were testing a v3 sender that was supposed to alleviate these problems, but in the most recent email response i got from them, the rep on the other end was clueless as to what i was talking about with the new sender. ive read posts my other members with these gauges confirming their inaccuracy. what is to be done about this? wtf is the point of a boost gauge that is 3 psi off? why don't you fix this prosport?!?! i held off on returning the gauge, thinking that the new sender was only a few months away and it would solve all the problems, but i have to say you get what you pay for. anybody know who makes an ACCURATE boost gauge these days? i heard things about defi being inaccurate too.
EDIT: As of September 2008, I was contacted by Ryan West at Prosport (HR Manager) through private message. He had seen my posts bashing prosport, and I'm happy to say that after a year or so of having a faulty-reading Prosport Premium Series Electric boost gauge, Prosport finally made good. Ryan sent me his new version 3 electrical boost sender, as well as an inline filter and wire harness, all free of charge! All I can say is thanks! It's about time! I'm very happy and even though I cannot test the new sender just yet, due to a blow transmission in my wrx, I am fully confident that it will fix the +3 psi error I was seeing. I had tried to contact prosport about this issue a few times in the past, and I was told that a new sender was in the testing phase. After a few months, I basically gave up hope and decided to live with an inaccurate boost gauge. Well Ryan contacted me, and made everything better. So from this gesture alone, I would be happy to buy from prosport again, and I would recommend their products to others. Thanks Prosport!

If it helps the wires are LR, YG, PL, B. Obviously black is ground, but which of the last three is constant AC and which is the dimmer.

This link will show you how to install the gauges to the fuse box. Keep in mind this is premium gauge install. The only difference between premium and performance is the red wire on performance gauges goes to a switch 12v power.
Hope this helps.

Are you using the in-line filter?
| RexTexWagon | 09-08-2008 12:51 PM |
Ill have to double check where the pointer sits when its off. Im leaving for school in a bit so Ill check then and get back to you. Where is it suppost to sit? I know it reads down in the -20 when its idleing, and ~-10 when Im cruising with minimal throttle...
Ive had the gague for about 6-7 months now.
In-line filter? That tjoint that came with it? Then yes...
Thank you for your quick response :).

Tyler the t-joint probably isn't what he's referring to. I believe the inline filter is actually a filter (should be clear?), unless I'm totally wrong and the filter is integrated into the t-joint.
I just ordered a mechanical boost gauge and egt/oil pressure/water temp in the Premium series. This weekend will be fun :)

I dont remember getting anything other than a tjoint that had a brass pill thing in there, vacuum line, and the gauge.

This might be what Prosport is talking about:

Keep in mind this gauge pictured is electrical, and I'm not sure if the mechanical would require the inline filter as well. Given the placement, I'd say it is, although I'm not sure how it would affect boost readings.
As far as that brass pill goes, is that necessary? I installed my Omori boost gauge with nothing but vacuum line.
Pittsburgh is nice, but I miss the bangers and mash at HHH :)

Good to hear, I'm up in lubbock for school, and I too miss the hhh guys.
As for what the gauge reads when the car is off, its a dash below 0.

Filter- you both are correct we used to have a brass filter and now most have the clear filter. They help to keep out dust/blow by.
Rex at your altitude the gauge may be 1 psi off (low) and that is pretty much confirmed by the fact that the pointer is just below 0 at rest on your mechanincal gauge.
20Hg at idle is normal. where do you have the boost line T'd into? How long is the tubing?

When will the new sender units hit the market or are they already out?

Mine didnt come with what thaddys came with...
And my T is right at the elbow for the recerc valve.
And I used the full I think 6 ft of vaccume tubing.

| jmilay | 09-09-2008 07:39 PM |
I've got the 52mm premium boost. Amber/White
Works good. Great price! Looking forward to getting other Prosport Gauges.
(Compared to a Greddy I had on my 1.8t - Same quality-just cheaper. We'll see how well it holds up!)
