I purchased mine from Dan at Mach V...www.fastwrx.com. You can't beat their prices, truly.

In general they are a very good company to deal with and they supply a great product. I bought mine directly from the prosport site and only had one problem. The boost sensor for my boost guage failed and cracked actually, they revised the design and sent me one for free; I just had to pay freight to Florida. Alll in all much worth the price!!! ;)

When using the oil sandwich adapter, is it really not necessary to drain the oil or will you only have to replace the oil held in the filter? My gauges arrived today and I don't feel like messing with the galley plugs any more, those things are held in tight!

You will only loose what is in the filter.. and on the subie it is upsidedown so you can keep almost all the oil in the filter and only have to top off a few oz.

Thanks, I wish I would have gotten the sandwich adapter now:(
Anyways, I have two problems:
1. The Premium series gauges ship with single dash mounts, but the mechanical series don't! I have all 3 of my premium series mounted on my clock pod (even though only the water temp works) and nothing to mount my boost gauge:mad: This is a pain, because now I have to order another pod to mount my boost gauge on my steering column. You even advertise it ships with mounting hardware.
2. How the hell do I turn off that beep upon start up? I figured out how to disable to warning light, but the initial beep is so annoying. You guys really need to improve your directions!

I have ther prosport oil pressure electronic guage and sandwich plate and I read about the same (40 @ idle, 100 while over 1700 rpms) When I press in the clutch to cruise to a stop it'll go down to maybe 60 but regardless of speed or gear, above 1700 rpms its at 100psi

Does anyone else have issues with the colors matching gauge to gauge? I noticed my EGT gauge doesn't quite match the color of my oil pressure and water temperature. It's white during the day, and isn't hooked up to a sensor, if that matters.

They fit, but you have to cut or bend part of the exhaust heat shield and the coolant line needs to be bent a bit.

i have the prosport elec oil press. and boost gauges. they look great but i have an issue with the oil pressure gauge. when the car is at running temp and i come to a dead stop the pressure reads zero. i know my car has oil pressure because the dummy light hasn't come on and the car runs fine. i've contacted ryan at prosport and he was very helpful in checking my gauge and he said it works fine. anyone else have this sort of issue? i've replaced the sending unit 3 times now and still am having issues....

About 1/2 way down this page tells how to turn off the beep: http://prosportgauges.com/faqs.aspx
The mechanical boost gauge has a longer body and would not fit in the premium pods that come with the premium series. The "mounting hardware" is the U-bracket & screws/washers/nuts for mounting the gauge in a dash or pod.
Instructions are being revised as we speak.

I bought a Greddy adaptor first after Greddy themselves guaranteed me it would fit. Well it didn't. Any adaptor with that shape you will have to modify to work on the 06. The oil cooler line is in the way. Check out www.wrxtra.com/catalog/
Theirs goes right on as it is perfectly round. Also as far as the Prosports. They are great! Have had mine installed for just over a year. I had a problem with the oil pressure sending unit. They replaced it free of charge. Great Customer Service!!
And to get rid of the "beep" at start up, hold down the peak recall button, then turn the key to on (like you are going to start the car, but don't). If memory serves me right, it will beep that one last time but then should not beep again unless you disconnect the battery, in which case you'll have to disable it again. You'll have to do it for each individual gauge, even if you have several piggy backed together. If you have any questions drop Prosport a line. You'll probably have a reply within 24 hrs. Hope this helps anyone looking for info. Good luck!

If the beep comes back after you restart your car, then you do not have the red wire on a constant power source as it losing memory..

I found if I do not put power to any of the light control lines, my electric boost gauge will be a very dim red. It is perfect for night driving, as these gauges are so bright. However if you apply power to a light control input, the light will come on and latch on. So even if you remove power from the light control the light will stay on. Only way to shut it off is to restart the gauge. So what I did is put a momentary switch on the light control. If it's day and I want backlights, I just tap the button.
Hope this helps anyone. I am happy I don't get blinded in the night now :)

Is there a specific way to wire gauges so the startup/shutdown sequence is in order? I've tried a few configurations and it always seems to start with my water temp in the middle. The gauges are oil pressure (wired for power), water temperature, and EGT. Only the water temp has a sensor running to it :)

I just ordered (from Mach V, but its definitely not their fault) one of the Prosport electronic boost guages for my 88 Conquest. Its pretty slow in response and sits 1-2 psi south of 0 with the engine off and the guage on.
I've already picked something else for the WRX, but this thread is what sold me on the prosports. I'm pretty bummed.
Its a decent guage don't get me wrong, but it is pretty slow to respond and not centered anywhere close to what I would call acceptable.

I've installed the prosport mechanical boost gauge with 52mm mounting cup (sold seperately) and mounted it on the steering column of my 04 wrx. Installing the gauge and hooking up the boost line was easy, but wiring it in was difficult - Prosport may I suggest including some "Common wiring solutions" for the gauge? I realize you cannot account for every car but I'm sure we could find members who would take pics of their installs and you could host them on your website to assist other buyers on how to locate wires to tap into. As many of you will know the WRX has a variable ground to do the dimming, and I was unable to find a proper wire to hook the "Lighting circuit" wire into, so that the gauge dims down a little for night when you turn the lights on. I think there is a wire for this by the clock but I went to the wires by the fuse box & fog light switch.
Anyway, aside from the wiring difficulties, I found this gauge to operate perfectly and look fantastic at the same time. Gauge is very responsive and seems to be very accurate. Sits right at 0 when the car is off, reads about 14.5 psi max boost which is about what the access port tells me too. Only thing that i can say negative is when you dim the gauge, I hear an audible buzzing noise from the light in it. I chalk this up to the fact that the gauge is expecting a variable positive, while I am giving it a variable ground instead.

There are so many issues with prosports gauges(at least with mine), my egt used to go down to 400F, oil pressure went down to 10psi, boost -25 hgmm psi in vacuum (they're way off), after year of using it. so i bought peak/warning, first they sent me wrong one so i had to pay for 2 shippings and when i got it setting don't even work and start up is soo annoying. no offense but prosports really should look in to their quality than how much they can sell. because i don't think i'll ever buy prosports gauges again no matter how cheap they are compared to defi.

I would like to chime in, I work at prosport and I can help you out. All of our gauges are top quality. We stand behind everything we make and it is no wonder our company has been in business for over 35+ years.
All of our gauges come straight from our factory we do inspect them twice (once at the factory and once at our wherehouse) before shipping to the customer but as with anything in life problems may slip past us or get damaged in shipping etc..
We back everything we sell with a no hassel 1 year warranty. So if you have any problems please contact us. If you do not contact us how are we to know anything is wrong? We answer every email and every phone call.. and make every effort to accomodate the customer.
We have tested our gauges side by side with other brands and in almost every case they are just as responsive/accurate or better. Keep in mind that 99% of our gauges are electrical and thus things can happen, senders get clogged with dirt, teflon tape, sluge, crushed, dropped, etc.. I have seen all kinds of things, but the bottom line is that if it is a factory defect we will cover it and get you up and running again.
Ive been running 6 of our gauges in my STI for almost 2 years now with no problems.
Have a good day guys! :)

Can anyone that wired their gauges to the fuse box confirm something for me? I believe I wired the constant 12v (the red wire I believe) to my door lock fuse. I have a suspicion that this is why my settings are not being saved when attempting to get rid of the start up beep. Should I tap that wire into a different fuse?
I did this per Prosports install video on YouTube.

Turns out it was the guage itself. I swapped out the guage only and I'm a happy camper. The sender seems to be fine.
I'm not too thrilled with prosport's support, they seemed to be trying to put the blame on me, my wiring, shipping damage, etc. The last thing they seemed to want to admit was the guage being off from the start.
If I had followed their support instructions, I would have paid for shipping the sender back only to find it was the guage thats really off, then paying to ship that back. Only advice on this to prosport would be to assume both are bad and get them both in your hands for testing.
Not sure what happened, but there seem to be plenty of people who are happy with their guages.
I'm pegging it on a one-time deal, I still plan to purchase two or three in the future.

Posted in the other gauges thread, but here are my Prosports. I went with the mechanical boost gauge and the Premium oil pressure, water temp, and EGT.

Is it only the premium/electric gauges that seem to be having all these issues? Or the mechanical as well? I'm pretty anal about having gauges that match my cars gauges, but I don't wanna spend like a grand on friggin' Defi

I really want to run ALL of my gauges to a single switch so that I can shut them off when not needed.
I have the PS 60mm (performance) water temp, boost, oil pressure; PS 52mm(performance) fuel pressure, oil temp; I also have a PS 52mm oil temp for monitoring tranny temp, autometer EGT, and a AEM UEGO wideband...
So how could I wire these all together and maintain fire safety? or is that impossible? I'm basically wondering what size fuse to run inline. I don't want to :diaf:
Thanks,
- Justin K.

You can do that, that is how we have the gauges wired on our 504HP STI, that way we can turn the gauges on with the car off for shows. we have a 15 amp fuse for 5 gauges.

I just installed my Electrical Boost Gauge (Premium) yesterday and Im also having the problem where the needle sits about 1-2psi below the O basemark when the car is on but the engine is off. The car also idles about 1-2inHG below 20. Should I contact prosport about this issue?

@ Prosport Gauges
This weekend was the first run-in I had with Prosport Gauges and sadly I have to say it wasn't any fun at all. I previously had hooked up some Defi's and they went like a charm and I assumed that I was only hooking up one Prosport gauge so, shouldn't give any trouble right? Wrong.
I love the look and functionality of the Prosport Air/Fuel gauge so I decided to go with one of these as opposed so some other gauge. The first problem I had was the instruction sheet made mention of four wires, red, black, yellow and green. Except, my gauge had red, black yellow and grey. I was left to assume that the grey was the same as the green.
I have an Innovate LC-1 hooked up to my car and it is working properly. I can get data on my laptop and can actually get voltage readings that correspond to the AFR's with a voltmeter. But when I hook up the gauge to the analog output from the LC-1 onto the grey wire to the gauge, firstly it does not read the appropriate AFR and secondly the value it shows does not change even whilst driving.
I have turned off the "Display voltage" dip switch behind the gauge and I have set the voltage range on the gauge to 5V. I spent the entire weekend trying to get this gauge to display the AFR. The analog output from the Innovate LC-1 is set so that 0V = 7.35 AFR and 5V = 22.39AFR.
ANY help from ANYONE will be greatly appreciated. I am sure there must have been someone out there who have used this gauge with an LC-1. I really want this to work, as this is my very first Prosport gauge and I don't want it leaving a bad taste in my mouth as I have more gauges to put on and would like them to be Prosport. Thanks..

I had the same problem with 2 Prosport elecy boost guages, read 1-2 psi below zero and the end boost reading was affected. Ended up returning them both, got a defi and its perfect..

I've been e-mailing Ryan, about my gauge problems reading below 0. He told me to send them in. I'm just awaiting a shipping address, and I'll get this guy out today. :)

Well... looks like I'm SOL. They cant find record of my purchase, and I more than likely dont have it. So, I wont be covered under warranty. Looks like I'll be picking up some defi gauges. Sucks...

Just don't turn your wideband off while you're driving around, you'll be saying good-bye to your sensor really quick.

Actually the gauge supposed to be be able to display a wideband input via the 5V out on the LC-1. I am not interested in viewing the narrowband output of the LC-1.
were do you have the grey wire installed at on the controller?
The grey wire comes from the gauge. It is connected to the brown wire (analog out 2) on the LC-1 that has a range of 0-5V out. And the gauge is set to 0-5V input on the back.

So, is the logic behind that 3 amps per gauge? So, say I had 8 gauges, I would run 25 amp fuse?
They will all be prosport except the Autometer EGT (which I've had forever) and the AEM UEGO Wideband.
Also, my 52mm performance boost gauge registers like -10hg when the car is turned on, but not running. This apparently shouldn't be the case.
Thanks,
- Justin K.
