That turns off the 'beep' on ignition?
Or just the warning beep,
I've tried that and can't get it to stop beeping every time I start my car...
That means that you do not have the red wire on a constant 12v source to retain the memory.

I just tried to install my elec prem boost.
Gauge does not power up. Tested to make sure it was getting power. test connecter and 12v coming through. Now i wanted amber/amber so I did what the instructions said to do, did not connect white wire. Also, instructions didn't mention the orange wire, but I used a vampire clip to put it into red wire. Not sure if this is causing problem or I just have broken gauge, cause. power is making it to the gauge, but gauge does nothing. Please help. was my xmas present.

Im in the process of installing 5 Prosport Premium gauges in my 07 STi. 60mm EGT, Oil Pressure, Water Temp and the 52mm Boost & Voltage gauge. My question is on the EGT sensor. I found a thread where the guy removed his manifold and tapped it for the EGT sensor. Does the sensor have to be on the manifold? I have a extra bung on my downpipe with a plug. I was thinking about drilling and tapping the plug and installing the EGT sensor there. (About 6" from the turbo.) would this be a ok place to install the EGT sender?
Thanks....
Thanks....

So my wife got me the Prosport 52mm A/F gauge I wanted, but with none of the good stuff to make it work. So how much would the controller and sensor be without the gauge? Thanks.
| JDMbyBlood | 12-27-2008 08:20 PM |
Was the gauge new or used? None of Prosports gauges require a controller. If she got you the Air/Fuel gauge, Im sure you have to tap into your ECU. (Thats where it should get the readings from. Dosent come with any type of sensor.) If your talking about the wideband, it should have come with everything you need, such as o2 sensor, bung to weld onto your exhaust and so on. Sounds like she may have bought you the Air/Fuel gauge and what you really wanted was the Wideband Gauge.

I've been struggling with getting my Premium Oil Pressure gauge to work for the past few months. It's mainly because I travel A LOT for work, but Prosport had been very helpful. After reinstalling my relocation kit, shipping the gauges to Prosport, and trying multiple pressure sending units, Ryan shipped me a new wiring harness as a last ditch effort. It worked, and I finally have fully functioning gauges.
I'll have to take some new pictures, but here's my setup:
Mechanical Boost -> Premium Oil Pressure -> Premium EGT -> Premium Water Temp

I'm thinking of getting a new dash pod, moving my boost gauge off of my steering column, and adding the new wideband gauge Prosport recently released.

I posted in another prosport gauge thread about how I sent an email about my green/white oil pressure gauge reading off by quite a bit. my oil pressure gauge needle seems like it catches at 20psi and the needle is all sticky. when i get up in the revs the oil pressure gauge reads a higher reading but when i let off it wont come down below 20psi. the reason i know its off is because it used to read to below 20 and do a full sweep on startup, where now its acting up as described.
sent the email 3 weeks ago and still havent had a response. im considering trying the premium series gauges instead but reading bout all these problems i may just go to a different brand - i was optomistic considering everyone else seems to have good service from prosport but i would have to say i am a bit disappointed

Just wanted to add my experience with Prosport gauges. I have electric oil pressure and boost gauges. The oil pressure worked on the first try. The sandwich plate does have a slight leak however, and I plan on looking closer at that soon.
The boost gauge has been a bit of a problem. It worked well for the first week and then would randomly spike to max while driving. I re-wired everything to see if it was my fault installing the gauge. No change. I pm'd Ryan several times and he was great about getting back to me and offering help. I finally ordered a new sender and installed it. Now the gauge went through the opening ceremony and then pegged all the way left and stayed there. I removed the underhood filter, rechecked all wiring and didn't drive the car for a few days. Now it works fine and I have not had a problem since. For the price I would by these again since the customer service is so good. Thanks Ryan for all the help!

I just installed 5 of the Prosport Premium Series gauges. Im having slight issues with one of the gauges, but nothing Im worried about because of the GREAT customer service Prosport provides. The customer service is what convinced me to go with Prosport, other things like great looks and the matching of the stock gauges on my 07 STi also helped. ;) Ryan and Glenn are 2 stand up guys when it comes to helping out customers. I've visited the shop and had the pleasure of meeting Glenn. Other businesses should take notes from these guys when it comes to customer service.:)

It was new from prosports site. Still haven't gotten it yet because the post office is being dumb. They said they tried to deliver it, but we were home when they 'supposedly' came by. So who knows. But after looking at prosports website I realized the wideband gauge is different than the other afr gauge. I definitly need the wideband kit to tune the car though. I originally thought the two gauges were the same, just one without the kit. Which wouldn't do me any good, but we're on a budget until we get some medical bills paid off. So she got it thinking we would piece together the rest of the wideband kit later. Good try since she wasn't sure what I needed. Guess we'll have to send another email to see if they can switch out the afr for something else....whenever/if we get it delivered.
As of September 2008, I was contacted by Ryan West at Prosport (HR Manager) through private message. He had seen my posts bashing prosport, and I'm happy to say that after a year or so of having a faulty-reading Prosport Premium Series Electric boost gauge, Prosport finally made good. Ryan sent me his new version 3 electrical boost sender, as well as an inline filter and wire harness, all free of charge! All I can say is thanks! It's about time! I'm very happy and even though I cannot test the new sender just yet, due to a blow transmission in my wrx, I am fully confident that it will fix the +3 psi error I was seeing. I had tried to contact prosport about this issue a few times in the past, and I was told that a new sender was in the testing phase. After a few months, I basically gave up hope and decided to live with an inaccurate boost gauge. Well Ryan contacted me, and made everything better. So from this gesture alone, I would be happy to buy from prosport again, and I would recommend their products to others. Thanks Prosport!
^^^
I would like to second the above.
My premium boost was "off" about 1.5 PSI, and he replaced the old sender with the newest one which has gotten it near-perfect (now maybe 0.25 to 0.5 PSI "off"). Thanks for the prompt returns to PM's, and courteous customer service.

i once had a problem with my prosports boost gauge a few days after installing it. in normal driving i once noticed it was blinking (the beep is turned off as i hate that loud beep every start up ) and it showed me a bit above 2 bars.
stopped the car, turned it off, started it and it worked normally ever since
two weeks ago i got ecutek and they said they set the boost to 1.15 bar but the prosport showed me 1.4
i took a manual boost controller and set the boost down. will keep that until i get another gauge to check that im on the safe side
i dont mind if it shows a bit wrong as long as i know it. ill keep it anyway - fits nice to my red interior

but what i really wanted to ask: can i use the supplied daisy chains to power up other non-prosport gauges? and how many?

Ok i just got these gauge in from a vendor and at first glance they dont match up to the performance series gauges. I mean the premium gauges have almost a inch lip on them( they have "dark silver" lip on them). They are fitted On the ATI gauge pod and they dont fit. I have to dermal the holes out to get a 52ml hole........... Has anyone else had this problem and how does it look like this.

Want to add a positive note for Prosport. I have had their boost and oil pressure gauges for a couple months now. The oil pressure worked correctly on the first install. The boost gauge was another story. It would randomly spike to max while driving. It was re-wired twice by me at the gauge. I talked with Ryan and he thought the sender might be bad. I bought a new one and it worked for a couple weeks. Then it would just sit pegged to the right. After lots of trouble shooting it turns out the ground was not sufficient. I found a nice, bare metal ground and it works perfectly!

I have had Prosport gauges for a few weeks now. Install and wiring were easy, although the oil pressure sender would not fit under the intercooler and I needed to relocate it. Readings are right on (compared against real time data from AP) and needle movement is very smooth. They are nice gauges.
