I had one prosport gauge in my old car, it was the 60mm peak deal....After having defi's for a while the prosport gauge looks like a child put it together or somthing that you would buy at autozone. The needle is huge, coloring isnt good, the markers are not precisely defined, the clear plastic on the front is somthing out of the 60's with its huge bubble face. its just a hodge podge.
If any of you doubt me go take a look for yourself. They could be more accurate than a defi but have fun trying to figure out what you are actually looking at, its a lot harder. Prosport really needs to spend some time cleaning up their looks. Even autometer is a hell of a lot more aesthetically pleasing.

Since your using both oil pressure and oil temp, your best bet would be to get the sandwich adaptor. VERY simple to install.

Not trying to rain on anyones parade, im just hoping that prosport will improve their gauges to the point of "actually trying" to make an aesthetically pleasing gauge. Defi's blow them out of the water in the looks/functions, maybe prosports are more accurate though, who knows.

Ryan, quick question-
On an 02 wrx, are there any problems mounting the oil pressure sender under the intercooler? From what I understand, the sandwich adapters or front galley plug locations are better for later model wrx's. Thanks in advance.

OK, need a little help Ryan.
I have my gauge all wired up and working but... it will only power up if I have my light switch on parking or headlights. There is constant power because it keeps memory. My wiring as of now.
Red to fuse 10 (battery/constant)
orange to fuse 14.
white I left off
and black is grounded behind dash, .
From the threads I read and people using the add-a-circuits, they used these fuse slots. IDK.
And I would like to say I love my gauge.

dreammaster,
You must have the orange wire going to a switch power then (parking light). meaning the gauge will only turn on when you turn the headlights on or parking. Run the orange wire to a regular ignition power. when you turn the key on, the gauge will turn on :)
Let me know how it goes.

My friend HAD them on his evo. The boost gauge was off by a little, the EGT went out after a bit, and the oil pressure had a bad connection somewhere that we couldn't find.
They dont look all that great either.
I got STRI's and they are def a whole lot nicer then prosports and they are priced pretty simliar. About half as much as defi's and they are almost exactly the same looking as them.
Not trying to bash but with my experience I'd never buy them.

I cant stress enough how some ppl dont install them correctly, drop sensors, break probes by not checking clearance, water logging the boost sensors, not using in-line filters...etc
We have a less then 1% return rate.
Hope everyones weekend went well...

The fuel sender comes with no way to get it tapped into the actual fuel system. To top that there is nothing on their website to adaptor the sender into the fuel system. So, you invent something, or by Autometer. I went with a custom one, and am now sitting at home waiting for morning, so I can go buy a replacement fuel hose for the one I had to cut into to attempt to get this gauge working.
I had a similar problem with the oil temp/pressure. The sandwich adaptor comes with Taiwanese bolts that dont seal around unused holes, and to top that the oil sender doesnt seal either. I went through three O rings before I sold this whole assembly to someone else for pennies.
The afr gauge (narrowband) isnt even good for a light show, because when you tap into the 02 sensor wire, the voltmeter goes haywire and flashes 10.0 until you disconnect it, upon which it gives you a bogus 19.5 voltage rating on the battery.
The connectors for all electrical work on these are a wimpy 20 gauge, and this makes for an easy break on the wire connector that plugs into the back of the gauge. I am waiting for both a boost sensor and boost electrical wire right now, simply from what bending the wires 180 degrees.
Defis may be ridiculous in cost, but given the hidden costs involved in these gauges, Im starting to believe I would have been better off.

Sorry you had issues with our gauges. The reason our fuel pressure sensor doesnt come with a adapter is because every car is different. Every make and model has a different setup.
Did you use teflon tap or thread sealant when installing the bolts, sender?
Were did you tap the sensor wire off of on the o2?

Edit: Today I finally got the afr working, and I am trying to find some metal to withstand the psi of the fuel system.
Im not saying these gauges arent accurate. My boost gauge has worked 100% since the day I got it. It's just the ingenuity involved that sets things back in my mind. With all of the mechanical work you do on your car, who needs more frustration :)
Accurate product imo.

Here is a pic of my gauges installed. Easy to read and match very well with the stock gauge cluster. For the money, you cant beat Prosport gauges. This time around I didnt want to spent $1200.00+ on gauges like I did with my Greddy gauges that are in my 240. Im very happy with the performance of the Prosport gauges and spent 1/3 the cost of other high end gauges. ;)

I just got my Boost, EGT, and Oil Pressure installed down at Broken Motorsports in the city (NYC) and love them. They were the 60mm performance gauges and all wires and sending units were made from high quality. The amber and white color are as close to stock as any other gauges I've seen. For the price, unless you want to be proud of some $1200 gauges, prosport gauges are cost-effective and look/function well.

My electronic boost gauge(the green/white one) that I installed about two or three months ago has been working great until tonight. I had it wired to where its always green, day and night. But tonight when I turned my car on, its always red, but my oil pressure gauge is still green.
I'm guessing a wire came loose, any ideas on which one it could be? I haven't had time to try and find the disconnected wire yet.
But I'm still happy I got them, this is the only problem I've had and it should be an easy fix.

Went outside today to take a lokk at it, turned the car on and now its back to the green/green it always has been. I dididnt take everything apart to search for loose wires since the problem is no longer there.
Can you think of a specific connectio that would turn it from green to red?
Can you think of a specific connectio that would turn it from green to red?

if the red wire isnt attached all the way this could cause the problem. it may be a loose connection.

Have you received my sending unit from Surrey BC?

What size are the bolts that are in the prosport sandwich adapter? I purchased one from someone and the heads of the bolts were rounded off, I would like to replace them with new ones. I also purchased a premium oil pressure gauge but the wiring instructions were not included. Is there somewhere I could get a copy of the install instructions? Thanks

I just got my Prosport boost gauge in yesterday. It was simple and it looks pretty good. Only problem is that I can't get it to stick on my dash. I have a single prosport gauge cup and they supplied some tape but it wont hold. Any suggestions on getting it to stay? I really don't want to drill into the top of my dash.

I know I have seen this posted before but this thread is too long to search. Is there a way to get the electric boost gauge needle to respond faster to boost. It just seems laggy compared to other boost gauges. Is there a restrictor or something?

I love all five of my prosport gauges. Im not sure why they look purple in the pictures.

I have an electric boost gauge showing up on Friday, then I am sure I will be digging through this thread to come up with a wiring diagram. :)

just got all mine installed - had a problem with the oil pressure and peak/warn boost, but the problem with the oil pressure gauge was the plug came partially unplugged on the gauge. the boost gauge has a faulty sender, but ryan said he would replace it if i sent it in. on to a few pics of the setup in my gc... 3 performance series green white in a pillar and peak warn green white on column ( oil press, oil temp, egt, boost)

Hey guys. Just got my boost gague in yesterday. I know prosports sometimes have a problem with the needle sitting on zero correctly and in the box mine sits like 3-4 lines above. Is this a problem or do I have to wait to install to find that out if it will sit right?
