Hey, that is a nice pic. Can I use it on our site?

I can't offer you money for it. If you come by the shop, though, I'll give you a Mach V goodie.

That really is a nice shot. Is there anywhere I can get an empty housing for the OEM gauge pod? Do they fit 52mm gauges? I really like the low-profile squared off look of the OEM gauge pod, and these Prosports would be an excellent match for a nice affordable pod...

The OEM boost gauge is much too small for a 52mm.

Prosport makes just such an affordable pod. See it HERE, and pictured above. It's been so popular it's currently on backorder, but that should be solved in a week or so.

Can the wiring for power and illumination come from the stock boost gauge that uses the harness behind the radio? I'm assuming that since this can DIM the stock gauge the power is variable to so if I went with an electric gauge I would need to have them on maximum brightness, which I leave my dash on anyways..can someone confirm?

With as many gauges as we are selling the reject rate is one of the lowest in the industry. Each gauge is tested before they ship but as all know the USPS & UPS are not the most gentle people and thus damage in shipping can occur. If anyone EVER has a problem just contact us and we will ALWAYS make it right!
Just wanted to update, yesterday I got a call back from a representative at prosportgauges.com concerning my bad EGT gauge. They called me early in the day, were very friendly and courteous, and got a replacement EGT probe sent out to me right away. VERY easy company to deal with regarding warranty issues. Hopefully it is just the sender which they are pretty sure is the problem from the description of my problem i explained to them, but if it is the gauge itself, they said it was going to be no problem to get a new one shipped out to me as soon as possible if the sensor itself doesnt fix the problem.

I know these arent the most expensive gauges out there, but i have to give Prosport an A for effort in taking care of their customers when their product fails to work properly. Its nice to know there are companies out there that stand behind their product and are happy to make things right without any arguing back and forth about it. Thanks Prosport!
I had the same problem with my EGT gauge. I had to send in my probe before they would send me a new one. It was kind of a PITA because I had to go buy a plug for my manifold.

I just mailed the old probe to them yesterday. I hope they get the new one back to me quickly.

:( So, I guess this leads me to my next question. You use a white surface mount LED inside your white/amber gauges right? Would I be wrong to assume that it draws .20 amps at 3.6 volts? If so, I can probably crack open the gauge, desolder the white LED and swap in my own blue LED right? Yeah, it'd void my warranty but I've cracked open enough gauge clusters to be confident enough to give it a shot.

Thanks,
Craig

I have read thourgh this entire threads like 3 times now and There is still no definate answer on what to do to get the Oil Pressure working in the 06 WRXs.

Some people say OEM Gallery Plug Adapter fits, others dont.

Could someone PLEASE link me to a Gallery Plug Adapter that works with the prosport green oil pressure gauges? If you could I would greatly appreciate it, since I can not find one on my own.

I dont think anyone is going to be able to verify this will ever work. The sender just doesnt fit on its own, no matter where you try to fit it. Your best option is to use the galley plug, and a stainless braided teflon line with 1/8" mnpt to 1/8" fnpt connections and just run the extension hose up somewhere that the sender will fit properly and mount it that way. You could do the same thing with the sandwich adaptor using an extension line, but why waste the money for all that when a 6 dollar galley plug will do the same thing? Good luck.
STi Juice 03-29-2007 08:58 PM

If that sender will work, I want it! The original one that came with my gauges is way too big, mainly because the DBW wire and BPV line sit right over the plug. There is practically no way it will fit on an '06.
Prosport Gauges 03-30-2007 10:40 AM

with regards to the fitment of the oil pres. senders in the 06'- The oil galley plug will work fine. It is also very simple to add a 45 or 90 degree adaptor that you can get at home depot to allow the performance series sender to fit. Contact Dan @ mach V he carries the oil galley plugs and almost exclusively works on Subaru's all day long. He is the authority and can easily answer your installation questions. :D

This is the way I did the oil pressure in my 03 wrx. The spot right under the intercooler. I 've had it for about 3 months now. There's plenty of room down there. Just move some hoses around and screw it in, plus I have the ebay tmic too.
with regards to the fitment of the oil pres. senders in the 06'- The oil galley plug will work fine.
Er, sorry, it will NOT work fine. The Subaru galley (gallery?) plug is threaded 1/8" BPT (British Pipe Thread), not 1/8" NPT, which is the thread size of most oil pressure senders, including Prosport. They're really close -- I think one is 28 threads-per-inch, the other 29, or something like that, but they're not the same and that can lead to problems.

As mentioned on the 2.5 liter cars (including '06+ WRX), that spot on the top of the block is directly underneath a couple of lines, which makes it very difficult to install anything in there. An extension hose and maybe a 45 or 90-degree elbow might do the trick, I guess.

Clearance underneath the car is tight, too, for the oil filter sandwich mount, but I'd probably do it that way, maybe using an 1/8" NPT elbow or two to get the probe to sit in a position so it's not directly smushed against the header.

At some point in the future we'll have a direct-fit galley plug which will be NPT threaded.

I have a set of White/Green illuminated Prosport gauges fitted to my '02 STI. I'm very happy with them although they're not normally available here in the UK so had to be ordered from Japan (typical!).

There is a company in that does Impreza specific adaptors here in the UK called LMA, pretty sure if you do a search you could find a UK stockists who would be willing to ship them to you.

It doesn't seem to memorize that it is supposed to stay muted. What do I do so that it stays muted every time I turn on and off the car?

This would be called Ace Hardware. Go to their plumbing department, youd be amazed what you can get there to suit your needs regarding pipe thread conversions between types and sizes. Would a a lot cheaper too without shipping charges and all that mess.

Heck, if you wanted to get all fancy, you could get a 1/8 Male BPT compression fitting, a 1/8" Female NPT compression fitting, and a short length of copper pipe and route the sender wherever you want that it wouldnt be cramped in the stock location. Not everything you need to install gauges needs to come from a supplier or vendor of car parts.

cucamelsmd15 04-14-2007 09:03 AM

Just a note for 06+ owners, the Prosport oil pressure sender will NOT work on the rear galley location. You will either need to a. lose the idiot light, or b. get a relocation kit.

Directly above the galley plug, there is the BPV hose, a coolant hose for the manifold, and a hard line runs directly beside it, not to mention the throttle body controller directly above the BPV line. There is also some sort of PCV line that runs directly beside it, and the sender is both too wide and too tall to fit.
