Alright guru's, here's the question of the hour. I've talked to the people at prosport and also Fast WRX and opinions vary, so I figure before I rip open my dash again I'll ask.
52mm premium gauge. I want it to light up white during the day/ amber at night. Originally I mapped out the wires I would be using and tapped them all off of the stereo wiring harness (05 STi)
I ended up using:
Red/Blue: 12V constant
green/yellow: ACC (12v when car is on)
violet: Parking lamp (12v when the headlights are on)
Black: ground
All measured with a voltmeter and confirmed.
First time i hooked it up, my intention was white during the day and amber at night. I must have reveresed the parking lamp and the ACC because instead I got amber during the day and white with the headlights on. So you would figure reversing the two would swap it to the other condition.... this was not the case. Swapping those 2 wires for the white and amber/orange wire from the gauge resulted in NO power to the gauges when the car was on, but the gauges came ON when the headlights were tured on. (cannot confirm what color they were when they did come on)
How can this be possible if the ACC and Parking lamps worked for the first condition, but reversing them did not give me the other amber/white condition?
Beyond checking my wires and junctions (which i did,and will recheck), what else could be causing my problem?
and additionally, what color wires from the factory stereo harness has everyone else been using to activate their gauges?
Thanks

I'll know more next week. as far as slim goes for a wideband -it is possible if you run a controller or normal depth if you do not. There is alot going on in that gauge so it will be one or the other.

How much for Mechanical Green/White Boost gauge installed in 05WRX? I had a OEM one in there and now a STRI one that barely functions. Looking to replace it with one that actually works.
| Ultimate Collision Center | 07-18-2007 01:42 PM |
we do installs for 75 an hour, but if you already have the vacum line in the car it shouldn't take more than 30 mins to do at most...
