we have done xx amount and for the most part people feel its too much money. Without pissing off the mods, it cost a little less than a set of JDM pink springs before shipping. So liek anything else most people are not into "feel" , instead they like to spend money on power and whatever matters to them the most , which I respect. One thing I did to make my Porsche "feel" good( which in return can be confidence inspiring) was a good wheel, short shifter, low seat position, and a good sound. None of which really made me go any faster,....BUTTTTTTTTT....the 5-6 people who drove the car who also had the same car with ALOT more money invested, all agreed it was the " FEEL" that really gave the car personality. The stock Sti wheel is too skinny and slippery. If you look into a GT3 or M3 CSL, they all have a suede FACTORY wheel. So I was inspired by that type of factory modification. So Three Forty blank isnt alot for covering a wheel. ESP since when you go to a aftermarket wheel you loose the airbag. It just comes down to priorities. I actually didnt start doing it to sell them. It was a customizing thing and it gave my car personality,............just like the E55 Bi-xenon lights,...same thing,..very effective and a subtle touch.
We did Chad Block's 2005 Sti wheel. So yes we can do 05's...like I said people just dont want to spend the money. Most of the people who have the wheel LOVE it and they had already done ALOT to their car, so they were looking for the "outside the box" modification, and that is what we provided.

Seat brackets to lower stock seat.

We have been so busy working on the NEW sister website, and 2 piece rotors for the STi and Legacy Gt, that we have not had time to finish working on seat brackets. There is still a problem across the board with the stock seat,.............even once its LOWER..........................IT SUCKS POO. Badly,..so lowering the stock seat is like putting a cherry on top of 3 week old milk with whipped cream. Yes you are lower,..but thats all. There still is NO side support.
But its still in the works. HKS Kansai makes a passenger side lower bracket , but that doesnt help us here in the states.

I just rec'd my suede covered wheel with blue stitching a few days back. It's OEM quality IMHO - the blue stitching is even with no blemishes, the suede is tight and soft....it's going to be a pleasure to drive with, and I'm sure my appreciation will only continue to grow.
How do you like your seats? Some would say "eh - a seat's a seat. They hold me in place and have a seatbelt" while others might say "these things suck! A beanbag has more support....I need something else" and go spend 1-2k on replacements. Feel is a very subjective thing.
I know of one guy who threw on an SR65, 3" catless TBE, got it tuned, and was good to go. No suspension or brake upgrades, just 450+ to the wheels. I think the power's great, but he's nuts. I've got the JDM Recaros, Zeal V6's, endless mount/bushing/brake and other suspension upgrades, and only headers, TBE, and a UTEC. That guy w/the SR65 would probably think I'm nuts with the cash that I've dropped, and that I'm not even at 300whp.......but feel's a very subjective thing.
I want/wanted my car to feel a certain way, and the wheel's a finishing touch. Lower myself into the cabin, watch the cluster dance with my Defis, grab the wheel, grin, and I'm off. Could I have continued to drive on the stock wheel? Sure....but having this wheel in front of me as I type, I'm glad I did it, and for me, it's justifiable. :)

I think that the reason the lowered stock seat rails will sell is because not everyone who buys them would do it for strictly racing reasons. There are enough of us oversized Americans who like the seats well enough, but could use more headroom or legroom. And I am definately one of them at 6'5".

I believe somewhere through here he had mentioned it would be lower and longer both. Of course no room left for rear seat passengers, but I surely don't care (and not a big deal since it won't be a fixed seat front to back).

Its been a year and my 2nd prototype wheel is still hangin in there. I am not careful too much anymore. The wear areas are in the typical places, around the 9/3 position ( NOT the 12 o clock position as I dont drive like that leaning with the 20inch sub kickin type)....
The Alcantara held up very well to knicks, scrapes, my son, my wife, etc. .
We HOWEVER never really sold these the way we had planned mainly due to other projects etc and the quality of the work was great but not INCREDIBLE.
WELL, we have changed sources and the new source is TOP NOTCH. exceeded my expectations by FAR. Stitchwork reminds me of the Factory Ferrari CHallenge cars.
Of course they COST more and that makes it difficult to offer even making almost nothing( literally), but its not always about the money, as most of our customers will tell you. We like providing parts and sourcing parts that people that people will remember us by.
So I will have pics very soon.
NOTE: my wheel (original version)is nothing less than great, but it had to be sent back twice to get it that way by the old source........I will take a cleaner to it shortly and sell it with 8.0 pix pictures to the buyer.

Hey Myles,
That's great news. The price for original version was a little spendy, but as you said, it's not always about the money. ;) Especially when there's no doubt as to the quality of the product.
I'm in a little better financial position this year and have been thinking about this mod again. If you could PM with the new pricing, turn around times, etc. I would appreciate it.
Thanks!
Mike

Thanks for the update on the wheels Myles!
I was actually hoping for an update on the seat rails. Unfortunately, I'm 6'8" and I have to auto-X with a gangsta lean to clear my helmet.
If the rails are a back burner item, what non-fixed seats would you recommend for someone with a 40 in waist? I would like support for a 5 point harness in the future.
Thanks!

6ft 8..Damnnn. !!! You need a Rally seat ON THE FLOOR !! Well, with a 40 waist you woyuld need a Recaro Pole position, BUT the bottom isnt long enough for your legs to be supported. I would suggest a custom seat by RACETECH. Anything else wil be weird feeling, like your but is the only thing on the seat.

6'8"? wow, you should consider an S2000 for auto-x.
you could get a Sparco Roadster seat, with low custom mounts, that would lower your sitting position.

Thanks for the input guys! I already have the STI and I have no plans on auto-xing competatively, I was just looking for something to give me a few more inches of headroom.
I'd heard that aftermarket seats without the height adjusters gave some room. I've also heard that aftermarket seat rails grant some room as well. I'm just looking for a good of the two.
Thanks!
