In New Zealand they kept VERY tight control over the spectator areas. You could only watch where they told you to.
Luckily, they provided a multitude of excellent spectating spots.

What is funny about the whole "making rally popular" thing is that about 90% of the "good ole country boys" i know "rally" race in one form or another allready. They just dont call it rally racing, they call it getting home fast....
What rally needs is big ticket sponsors, and big ticket drivers, everything you guys mentioned above would have to happen (us wrc driver, more rallys, more publicity, more sponsors, etc etc)
