How about those pics Myles. So what made you settle for the S202 wing instead of the S203?
Why did you have new uprights made? Raise the wing higher into the airflow?

Yes to get the spoiler into the airflow. Prova uses this spoiler on its customer car program in Japan with some very nice uprights.
I "settled" on a design thats far more functional than the S203 wing...

I've been talking with Ryan Li at Carbon-Creations about making this wing. He says they can do it. All they need is at least 10 buyers to go in on a group buy and... To get their hands on an original. Once the prototype is complete it takes about 3 months to get the finished order back to their distribution facility and sent out.
Is anyone interested?

Longfury, check out www.carbon-creations.com . They have a couple of wings for wrx's. If youd like to talk to Ryan Li directly I could probably pm you with his E-mail address. Let me clear it with him first though.

Humm I guess they would only make it in carbon fiber.....I'd rather get the polyurethane one that I can paint....but at this point I won't be picky.

Of course you could...I have been debating this and I think I am gonna so with the STi replica wing. Too hard and expesive for an original s203 and replicas are not really viable yet.
| 04stilin | 06-17-2005 07:36 PM |
Ryan mentioned that they could produce anything in fiberglass, carbon fiber, and polyurethane. Its just a matter of what the majority of people, that are interested in a GB, want. I'm leaning towards carbon fiber because I think it would look good with my CF trunk lid.
| USC_STI | 06-18-2005 04:05 PM |
im in... a carbon fiber s203 wing might be the perfect compliment to the chargespeed v-limitd style lip... if it ever gets here!
| SLDWYZ | 06-18-2005 04:12 PM |
they will never be able to get a holod of it so don't hold your breath, to get s203 parts you have to have a picture of the car and a vin number
| USC_STI | 06-18-2005 08:01 PM |
i think this is going to go the way of the jdm clock-replacement screen... at the end of the day its either going to be impossible or just too expensive.

Never say never, they may make it available to the public after the car is out of the showrooms, Like the 22b spoiler, and hood vents. the S202 Spoiler and Oil Cooler.
It will be in the same boat, Expensive as hell but worth it, if you want it.

I'm waiting on a reply from our possible manufacture. I sent him all the pictures I have of this wing, so that he could get a better idea of what it will cost to make. As it stands we have about 15 people that are interested, including the folks on the STi board. So we have enough to get a GB going, now its just a matter of Carbon Creations getting a hold of an OEM wing to work from.
| WRX8XB | 06-20-2005 03:31 PM |
hopefully the S203 wing wont go out like the S202 did....R1c3r land. :(

I got a response back from Ryan....
"As long as you can get me one wing I can produce a high quality product for you. Also, if the stands can be aluminum. It will have the metal look. The price will definitely be a lot cheaper than the original and it will be a high quality product. What is the cost of the original S203 wing? Whoever imports the wing over I will give a carbon one in return for free. To make metal stands the cost will be very expensive due to the molding cost of metal. However, we can do it with the right amount of people. I would say 50+ for metal stands. We made the RX-8 Mazda Speed wing with aluminum brackets and the consumers don't seem to mind the brackets not being metal."

I'm willing to invest in an original, but are they even available to purchase? Does anyone have connections for JDM parts, that could hook me up?

$3-400 isn't bad at all!
Was originally interested in the Prodrive aero-package, but the S203 wing has takes the prodrive aero package's design and makes it more... sleek?

Wait, so that's a legit number. As in the guy said "mine sell for $300+". Or is it just theoretical as in "humm to make them they would cost around $300+"
I guess I want clarification, are we any closer?
Thanks,

i was under the impression that nobody even made a replica yet. But they start producing i'm going to stop worring about wether to get a s202 or an sti wing and get this sexy beast instead. (you think they'll make them in carbon fiber? i'd like that a whole lot!!!)
I didn't like them at first, but i'm def. starting to love them. Kinda like the new '06; ugly ducks

there was never a s202 replica, either. the replica is of STi's carbon wing. s202 is different. getting one from the dealer is hard, just as with the s203.
good luck finding one. best bet is to hit up the junk yards that get a lot of subaru's... and have them keep an eye out for crashed s203's.

i ordered an s203 wing and i waited about 2 weeks for it to come in from tokyo, it finally got here and i ran to the dealer to pick it up(1400 bucks btw)depending on the yen rate. anyway, i got there and they asked me for my JCI(japanese compliance inspection) paperwork for my s203 and i was like, " oh i have a wrx" yea so they made an X with their hands and were like "no part.....must have paperwork for 203." yep so i made it close enough to see and smell it but still left empty handed..
thats about how badly subaru wants non s20X owners to get s20X parts, whether it be s202 or s203
