Rally TV will not be there now (everything from funding to crew issues)

If anyone needs accomodations, I still have 3 cabins reserved at Canyon Country campgrounds that I need to help them fill or I dont get my money back...

pm me if interested-

I've got room in my bed for the Rally TV girls. BTW, who are they?

Pete

JC_595 06-01-2004 12:26 PM

nobody right now. The couple I had going both bailed. (sumptin about wanting to earn money at the night club that weekend instead). :(

Seeing as how RTV is still like a new born baby, I cant afford to actually PAY models, I have to use connections/contacts/whatnot, and just pay their way. Makes it VERY unreliable.

I had som e others (wife's hot cousin & friends), but with a couple of my top camera ops bailing on the weekend put the ki-bosh on the whole thing. Man, I just hope I can get some money back from the cabins...

But... you know what they say in Houston...

OIL WELL!!

See you Friday in Penn.

Mikeyrad 06-01-2004 09:26 PM

I'm looking for a way to get from a "nearby" airport to Wellsboro. Anyone going by Binghamton, Scranton or even Harrisburg on Friday?

I have a place to stay I just need a way to get there!
Hondaslayer 06-01-2004 09:53 PM

What time?

I think we are passing through Harrisburg
Mikeyrad 06-01-2004 09:56 PM

Well that's the thing, I won't know what time my airline is getting wherever I decide to go (traveling from work) until thursday nite. If you are coming thru Friday afternoon/evening that might work.
Hondaslayer 06-01-2004 10:46 PM

We'll be there friday morning.

Myself (+3 friends), SubaruWRC (Jiffy), DJ 9Iron, pierce188, bleuquila, subyrally, VipersEatLotus (+ 1 friend), and bucklidl are staying at Canyon Country Campground and holding it down for Mid-A. Most of us are arriving Thursday afternoon and Friday afternoon.

Where and what time is the NASIOC meeting spot in Wellsboro. A couple of us are running the TSD. :D

Good question. I usually go to the dinner after the TSD then to the party later at the firehouse (or wherever).
Is there somewhere else you guys meet up? The lot next to Dunkin Donuts always seems heavily Subed.
Rally Performance 06-02-2004 06:13 PM

Meet in Wellsboro
Does anyone else know of a meeting time?

Traditionally, we've been seeing a lot of Scooby activity in the Bi-Lo parking lot (in front of Dunkin Donuts) on Friday night... We'll be heading over there on Friday night from about dinner time until ??? (11:00pm)?

If anyone wants to make it a meet, just look to park on the far end away from the BiLo and the Dunkin Donuts (towards the square) to keep the businesses happy.

Also - please be considerate of the locals, if you want to rip around go out of town... but locals may think that any subaru is "one of the rally cars" and we want to be able to come back next year. :)

Ken Cole

Rally Performance

Also - we've been having rain every afternoon, hopefully the roads will be nice and the dust low... the next few days will tell the tale.

For rooms - if anyone is still looking, try Denton Hill Ski area - 814 435 2115 - they may have some cabins left.
Jard 06-02-2004 08:04 PM

We had a lot of rain again today in west/central PA. The dust should definitely be down, and the weather looks beautiful for the rest of the weekend.

We are leaving Thursday afternoon, and we'll see y'all Friday night at BiLo.
BluSuby 06-02-2004 08:31 PM

Lots pf rain in NE PA also the past few days. I will bet the water cross stage is canceled already. Anyway, see you all at Bilo. I drive a PSM Sti, with a black EVO behind it :) BTW the EVO guys plan on meeting there also, so make room!

Bryan

Exactly. We've had as much, if not more rain this year then last, and it was cancelled last year. I think they need to recommend snorkel's like the WRC use for that stage,

Bryan
Samirr76 06-02-2004 09:27 PM

I am leaving Thursday Morning, see you there.

I wonder if this is Pete 97 GS-T 's favorite event?
Kitsune 06-02-2004 09:41 PM

The stage is'nt going to be cancelled unless it is raining hard THAT day.

If the stream is typical of most mountain area streams, it should be fine by the day of the rally.
Rovah 06-02-2004 10:42 PM

The LDR crew is heading out tomorrow AM as well. Definitely come and find us at the event! We have some decals and promo cards to hand out. It'd be great to meet fellow NASIOC folks! :-)

Cheers! John
Mopho 06-02-2004 11:08 PM

Perhaps I will see you on the road John, what route are you taking?
Geek Guy 06-02-2004 11:37 PM

Morgan,

We're going 95 to 495

495 to 290

290 to 90

90 to Albany

Whatever towards Bingamton, NY

Then the South route, since we're staying in Mansfield... go south from B, NY, then West towards wellsboro
Mopho 06-02-2004 11:50 PM

I may catch you on 90, I am leaving about 10 am ish, so if you see a flash of Sedona Red you know its me:D

I am staying in Mansfield as well-comfort inn

I'm staying there too. Look for a bald dude w/silver wagon.

I just put my 16"snow tires back on for the tsd. I've done it before on low profile summer tires and while not too bad it's a lot more comfortable and grippy on snows. I just hope the 8 hour roundtrip doesn't screw up the winter compound. At least the temps will be mild.

This is getting weird. We should inform SOA marketing of this promising new demographic.
Rally Performance 06-03-2004 12:52 AM

water crossing
Agreed on the water crossing - unless we have steady rain on Friday, the creek crossing will probably be ok.

We're about 40 minutes west of Wellsboro, and we've had intermittent thunderstorms all week, so the dust is down... for now. The roads around here tend to get dusty if there is no rain for just two days, though, so Friday will be the indicator.

Hope to see everyone at BiLo! Last year we had an EZ up set up in the lot between BiLo and McDonalds, and we were going to do it again this year, maybe with the truck, generator and a TV to show some rally videos... but the owner of the lot has to keep it "open for the businesses", so they didn't want us to do it again.

That being said, just tread lightly at the Bi-Lo, and please don't park on the side close to the Supermarket / drugstore / Dunkin Donuts. Should be no problem, especially if we buy lots of coffee, muffins, and Pizza.

BluSuby 06-03-2004 09:01 AM

Sorry for starting a rumor about the water crossing. I'm just guessing. I do know I live 90 miles E, SE of Wellsboro and we've been getting pounded with rain.
Regardless it'll be a great weekend!

aint that a pain. i went last year, but the stage was closed due to the rain, so i didnt have achance to find this out last year, that and i had never been in that area bafore that, so i got lost a few times, only got to see 2 stages.
Kha0S 06-03-2004 12:16 PM

I can't imagine that you couldn't pick up a program on the green Saturday morning! Still lots of hours left to do spectating at that point in time.

Does anyone know if PA. Sunoco stations still have 94 octane gas?
If so, I'll wait until I'm over the border to fill up. My car really misses it. I got a tankful in Maryland recently and about half way thru it I noticed more power and higher boost. Just like the old days in NY.

I need my precious 94.

You're going through Scranton? If you want to take the scenic route take Route 6 all the way.

Bryan
Hondaslayer 06-03-2004 08:42 PM

Coming from MI what is the best route to take???
Kitsune 06-03-2004 09:14 PM

I'd suggest taking 90W until you can hook up with 86W. Take that untl you come to 15 S, take that into Mansfield then get on RT 6 West.

Nice, well if you see a Silver Sti and a Black EVO with tinted windows together, that is me. I live in Tunkhannock. Route 6 is a beautiful way to go, it's just that it is very scenic and you can hit Sunday drivers any day of the week. Just be careful from Tunkhannock to Towanda, state troopers like that area because you can really fly,

Bryan
Bort 06-03-2004 10:06 PM

I hope to be getting on rt6 in Scranton by 8am.

Everybody: Scattered showers and a high of 59deg on Saturday.
Be prepared!
