Looks like I will be at the one in both Kansas City and Baltimore! I love living in Indiana... If feels like I am in the 'middle' of all the good stuff... 8 hours to Kansas City and 9 hours to Baltimore. Woo-Hoo!

Which class will you be in? Also incase you didn't get the email anyone who participates in the Subaru Challenge will get a certificate for a free entry to the regional autox the next day.

Sorry, no XP classes at the Challenges this year, unless we see a huge demand for it (More than 3 cars per event).
STISTL 07-02-2006 07:00 PM

I will be running in Florida with my stage 2 STI with stock tires. What class do I have to run. or if I flash back to stock can I run stock then.

Thanks.

We had ours yesterday. A fun time was had by all. I'm posting the pics up at this link for anyone interested.

I've started a set of albums here:

Very nice shot!
omaha03wrx 07-03-2006 01:04 PM

Great pictures Peaty! :disco:

The course was one of the best and fastest that Ive ever ran within my 3+ years of autoxing. I took 1st in SM and IIRC had the 4th or 5th fastest raw time. I owe a big thanks to Steve at Zzxyx for setting me up with some kick arse coilovers!

Great videos. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one grabbing for 3rd gear in Lot L. I love that place!
omahasubaru 07-07-2006 10:47 PM

I was grabbing 3rd in Doug's STS 2.5 RS for that whole sweeper right after the slalom.

Deep in to 3rd.

Lot L courses see STi 3rd... only the Subaru Challenge courses seem to see 3rd in an STS RS. :p

Thanks for a great event Steve. 3rd in PAX for me WOOT!

wukindada 07-17-2006 10:02 PM

Quick question guys....
what class should I be in for a slightly modded 05 LGT?
Quick question guys....

what mods? if there are any boost modifications it would be SM, otherwise STU.
So... no Subie Challenge door placards this year? :)
Last years placards looked great. Are we going to have them for the G-Ville Challenge? :) Please? :)
crystalhelix 07-18-2006 07:52 AM
what mods? if there are any boost modifications it would be SM, otherwise STU.
no - boost is legal in SP (some rules still apply)

I think the LGT is in ESP with stock un-modded turbo..

please list mods and we'll help you out..
wukindada 07-18-2006 11:45 AM

The big mods are larger turbo....FMIC....Brakes & suspension
crystalhelix 07-18-2006 01:11 PM
The big mods are larger turbo....FMIC....Brakes & suspension
well, you are in SM with the bigger turbo

FMIC technically removes the front bumper beam which would put you into a prepared class such as FP, most clubs typically allow the Subies with FMIC in SM though.

So I say it's safe to register in SM.
Patrick Olsen 07-18-2006 06:26 PM

I just signed up for the MD event, looking forward to mopping up in SM. :D
DrBiggly 07-19-2006 12:36 AM

crystalhelix,
For the purposes of the SubaruChallenge there isn't really any point in most of the Prepared classes so I'd say put him in SM. :)

dowroa 07-25-2006 10:54 PM

I am signing up for one event at a time since that is 70 a pop for me (since the wife I assume is still driving).

Other than that, I will see you guys up there in Sept! :)

GeneralGrievous 08-17-2006 12:25 AM

Signed up tonight but it will be only my third AutoX type event. If I happen to change mods/parts before the 16th will I be able to change classes or should I just postpone install? (I'm not sure how soon my DP will arrive so I'm assuming that will push me out of STX) Thanks in advance for the info
makofoto 08-17-2006 12:29 AM

DP is OK for STX
GeneralGrievous 08-17-2006 10:44 AM

Would I be able run Stg 2 after DP and still be STX or would that change once I use EM?
bl_easy 08-17-2006 10:51 AM

What EM are you using? If it's AP, I believe that you can just load the STX map for the event to be legal
jcroy66 08-17-2006 11:30 AM

Note that a downpipe CAN be ok for STX, as long as you retain at least one cat in the system, no further back than 6" from the last factory cat (it can be as far forward as you want).

And Stage 2 implies boost changes (even Stage 1 involves boost changes). Changing boost is a huge no-no for STX.
whiterice42019 08-17-2006 07:50 PM

Dont mean to sound silly, but what does STX stand for?

If you touch boost, you go to ESP (with a WRX).

Uh... what *would* be the best way to address this for a region? Get an SCCA chapter to see if SOA in that region is interested in running a preliminary event?

Oh, and I thought people in California only styled and profiled... not race. ;)

Best way would be to find a local dealer interested enough to either put on a Subaru Challenge event themselves or work with SOA to help them put on an event. You can also use the link in the post above and let SOA know directly! :D

Important News:
Due to low registrations and deadlines to order the event materials, we have made the decision to cancel this event. This decision was based on our registration experience with past events and vendor lead times.

If you registered for this event and paid via Pay Pal, you will receive a refund check by 10/16/06. The check will come from the Subaru Challenge website administrator.

We regret having to make the cancellation decision and we appreciate the interest of the 71 people who registered for the event.
