Sure shaving cream wipes off. Along with the some of the paint that was beneath it. Kinda like that police academy movie when they put the word dork on his chest with sun tan lotion. Same effect.
I agree, if we don't like whats on someones car. That is our problem and we can talk about it all we want, but to actually go off and do something because we don't like it... sheesh... remind me not to piss some of you guys off[img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif[/img]

There is no reason for this to happen to my car. I would probably freak out and get put in jail if somebody messed with my car. Ya'll have a good Friday, I'm not coming back to this post, its getting too serious for me. Got a HUGE Subaru meeting in Houston, can't be brought down by all this negative energy.[img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/tongue.gif[/img]

personally if someone put a rice ticket on my car, oh well....its paper....if i found out who it was, i would do the same to him,
no harm in that....just like when i ride past places and yell rice at hondas, or talons, etc....they chase after me, we run around town....its all in fun...they may take it personally but hey...its only words...
as for keying my car....if i found out who it was and can prove it, i would take them to court....i wouldnt mind having a new paint job...i would love another orange car....shaving cream, soap, blah blah blah....call the law if you can prove who it is....if not, then do the same thing to them...but before i would commit assult on someone, i would rather try to get cash out of them...
my opinion..........[img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/rolleyes.gif[/img]

I just had to say something here...
You have the right to do whatever you want (legally) to your car. WHATEVER you want! As long as there is no law against it, you have that right. Hell, you even have the right to break the law...but there are consequences...
And you know what? There are consequences to doing whatever you want to a car. People are allowed to form opinions...that is a right we all posess.
Now...when I see someone commuting to work in a giant SUV through the crazy Bay Area traffic...I laugh at them because that is a stupid thing to do...in my opinion.
When I see some kid with a car with some insane body kit...I laugh at them because I feel it looks stupid...in my opinion. (granted some look nice...and some SURE don't!)
We all can do whatever we want to our cars. And if you want to do something outrageous because you think it will look good...go for it!! But be prepared to accept the consequences.
I personally wouldn't deface someone elses property for looking bad...I would simply laugh at them. And if that pisses them off, they have a problem, not I.
However, if someone has done something to their car that is dangerous to themselves or other people...that is when I would step in.
Fuji...you do what you think is cool. Just be prepared for what happens next.
D. Neil Crawford
PS: I work in an art gallery...we sell paints from a couple hundred dollars up to $100K+... I've seen people spend $50K-60K on a pieces that I thought were very ugly...but they have the right to own it. Do I think they are kinda low class? You bet I do! Do I think they are bad people? Not at all! Understand? There is a difference.

People will say "that Impreza must be really fast that's why they have that huge wing on
there."
Before I get into that FujiK, let me say that if you do actually get a car at 15 it will be your car, paint like a gateway cow for all I care. But people will not say what you are hoping they will say. They will more likely say, "look at that kid who put that ugly spoiler on his car"
You see their are two kinds of drivers, enthusiasts and non enthusiasts.
The enthusiast, knows about cars, aerodynamics, and performance, and would know that wing is purely for show, because the odds of you taking a corner at a high enough speed to justify a wing like that are slim. And he/she would pretty much call it a waste of money.
Now their are the nonenthusiats (I really dont think thats a word!). They just see another kid in an import and say, "their goes another one of those ugly foriegn cars that are loud and reckless".
Neither group is going to drool over that wing. If you like it, power to you. If you can afford a car like that (450 HP) on what a mechanical engineer makes... good luck.... I know! The pay aint that great! (40-47K out of school)
So, do what you want to. It will be your car. But if you are going to wait until you graduate from school, by then you will want something else....haahahah

now...i bet that if our Rally Car cousin had the nice "picnic table wing" (as most of you see fit to call it) mounted on it. You all here would be grabbing after those style of wings. but being it looks more like the Ver. 5/6/RB5, etc.. you go after that wing.
Aerodynamics can be accounted for at any speed. want to test it out. Drive your car at normal road speeds (45-55mph) and open your door. feel that push...feels like aerodynamics at work to me. the further you get it open, the harder it is to open it. Same thing with the adjustable wings like the Cusco wing. the more you adjust it, the more downforce will be applied to the rear of the car. And you think these are non-functional?

#1 hell no i wouldnt put that thing on my car if the WRC used it.
#2 Hell yeah it will create downforce. Hell no do you need the extra downforce. I have never said the wing wont create drag, but you dont need it! Are you having a lot of lift in the rear? i highly doubt it.

Well downforce is nice for high speed stablity. REALLY NICE.
Also the interesting thing is the wing can REDUCE drag, depending on design, angle of attack, and hight off the decklid. It does this by helping the airflow remain attached to the back window and decklid.
Also one thing not mentioned is areodynamic balance. If you change the coefficent of lift/downforce in the front you need to be able to adjust the rear to get a proper balance for good stablity, even more so in side wind conditions.
I need to see if they make custom mounts for these things as I think I will need one for the wagon, as in its current configuration it should have insane front lift. Thus adding rear lift would be a good idea....

Just got a word back from CUSCO. This wing can not be obtained. It is their prototype wing for their GT race car.
But, they have a normal GT wing. Check out the pics of it in the gallery.

lighten up guys- it's not like I whipped out my joey and peed in his gas tank- I put a brown paper bag on a very convenient, table like object. And let's face it, anyone who puts that wing on their car has got to have a sense of humor-
Where do I draw the line? Right there- would I key him? no. Would I do anything that required him to spend more than 5 seconds of his life removing? no. Hell, I wouldn't even put a 'rice ticket' on his car, I'd be too lazy to sit there and right the damn thing out. Would I point and laugh at him in public? sure.
as for the whole 'if the WRC car had that wing you'd be all over it' business, no, I wouldn't. Just like I don't have 555 and subaru swooshes, and light bars, fire extinguishers, roof vents, and all that other jazz on my car.
I figured you boys would be a lot more good humored about all of this- I don't think Fuji K went and cried himself to sleep the night he read the messages putting down that wing-

I don't personally like that style of wing on the RS. I think the car is too rounded for it, it looks better on squared off cars like Audis.
I think that one thing people need to remember is that it's not your car. Who are you to tell someone what looks nice on THEIR car? Looks are completely subjective and not everyone has the same opinion. There are lots of people who like wild bodykits, that's why they sell so many. SCRAPPYDO, that's way too much of an oversimplification of the situation. There are lots of enthusiasts who like nonfunctional wings and such. People who aren't obsessed with performance and want their car to look good too. I think everybody needs to just take a step back and take a deep breath. The world is not a racetrack and every mod doesn't need to be done as if it were.
Oh and if someone put a bag of trash of my car, I would cram it down their throat. How dare you try to force your opinion on someone else. In case you were unaware people have the freedom of choice in this country. Oh and you talk about consequences, I hope you are prepared to accept the consequences of YOUR actions. I know that a lot of the "*******s" I know are pretty mean mofos and would send your a$$ to the hospital in a second for disrespecting their car.

Hey, you're entitled to your opinion. And I'm entitled to my opinion too. How exactly am I 'cramming it down your throat?'
Looks ARE subjective, and my subjectivity tells me that that is an ugly ass wing. Do I have to get flamed just because I'm not patting people on the back for putting something on their car that I don't personally find attractive, practical, or functional?
What kind of double standard are you trying to lay on me here, by telling me other people are entitled to their opinion, but because mine isn't all sunshine and bubbles I'm not allowed to make it?
I think you're the only one that needs to take a step back here. And as for being prepared to accept the consequences, I'm not even going to justify that with a response and start turning this thread into a chest beating 'Yo, I'd kick yo ass if you pulled that ****' session.

JC, seems like you are setting a double standard. Everyone here was stating their opinion, and in most cases, they prefaced their statements with saying it was their opinion. I agree that not ever mod has to be the most performance minded mod, but come on. That wing is ridiculous.
Also, your tone is very bitter. It sounds as if you need to step back a bit.

Well with the incrdibly fast 165hp and 166lb/ft stock setup more than likely you will not need a wing period. All these wings are so unnecessary for performance. Its more of a styling thing.
Including a suicidal mid15-low16 second quarter mile, i just saying the car does not "need" a wing. its more of a styling thing above all else.

Same thing with the adjustable wings like the Cusco wing. the more you adjust it, the more downforce will be applied to the rear of the car. And you think these are non-functional?
