Think Pastrana has what it takes to run in WRC? part 4
Personally I wouldn't want anything less than '30' in the notes. At hauling ass speeds you can't say 'thirty' (2 syllables) in the time it takes to travel the distance. I prefer 'and' and 'into' or just calling the next instruction. There has to be a given distance that is given as 'nothing' or no note that keeps the timing of calling the instructions correct.
I'd suggest that at 'hauling ass' speeds you're saying thir-ty long beore you get to that distacnce. Also 'R1 10 Cr 10 L1' is a much different set-up than "R1 25 Cr 25 L1' ... although admittedly the distance into the crest is noth that important.
Only Mr. Morrision has mentioned yet that Jemba is pretty uniform from event to event. He's used em enough to recognize some of the objective differences that the authors can make (easiest difference is probably off-cambers; I know who prefers to include them and which author does not) Much better than having distances noted in 'Lukes' like PerceNeige (Eh, Mr. Morrision?) or the notes provided at RallyNY.
The biggest subjective item in Jemba that I've foud were crests, particularly Vsmcr.
At perce neige we were noticibly faster and more committed to the notes (I could feel it in the car) in the last 12Km of the 50K stage that we made fresh pace notes for in a single pass because of teh inability of the organisers to note that section of the stage.
If you commit to being fast at rally, it's just a matter of time before you have a serious off, regardless of the kinds of notes you use
Interestingly, a while ago Norm and I have committed to not going off and we have gotten faster ... and have not gone off.

But it is just a matter of time ;)
For teams showing upto new rally, or their first time at a specific rally or even new stages added to a rally they've done many times, you only get 2 passes to have peferect notes.
Our times on Lac Gagnon made it clear that starting from baseline notes on that stage would have been a huge advantage. W'd probably pick up major time on that stage next time at the event.

Pace notes definately makes for an anti-social co-driver. Room service or take out in the rooom when the rest of the team is bench racing in the bar ... sigh.
