Let him know how unsafe his restraint configuration is. In an accident, the seat would collapse... as would his spine. The restraints need to have a fulcrum point at or be mounted at the same elevation as the shoulder holes in the seat for proper support. This is not a safe setup right now.
Other than that, the car looks terrific. I don't know about that Azenis Sport rubber... looks out of place on an essentially "no holds barred" car.

it's a show car - I SERIOUSLY doubt that he even uses the harness for street use. Notice his factory belts are still there. Also those Takatas are a "Hassle Me Mr. Policeman" green!!
| MB38 | 04-03-2004 11:57 PM |
Nonetheless, the car *will* hit the street for some amount of time at some point in its life. At that time, the occupants will be safer using the factory safety belts.

that is correct.. the deflection for the shoulder harnesses should no be no more than 0 to 35 degrees parallel to the floor of the car or seat. Azenis are decent street tires with a lot of grip.. I use them for autocrossing.. it's sad to see that it's missing a full rollcage to scare off the people.. if anyone is going this far for a show car to be gutted, it should have a full functional rollcage painted in the same color with the ECU remounted on the back of rear seat bench.
My 2 cents..
Car looks clean and good paint work.

I know the Azenis Sports are good tires, I'm stuck between them and ES100s for my car, but I'd expect R-compound rubber on a show car. :)

It'll take you all of 5 minutes to take your own rear seat out.
i dont understand your comment, but getting the actually paint code, and paint matching is totally two different things. I am an autobody painter so yeah i do agree paint is never the same. but getting WRB like paint and getting actual paint code is something different. Similar means nothing. Especially with such high quality paint like TSG or VG. I have tried getting those, even being a painter myself, and they refuse to hand it out. Maybe i just dont have the right connections, but I find it impossible in my own experience. hey you know if the dude who got the paint says it's real then imma a$$, but most likely not, i would appreciate it if he say if it is or not. Like yesterday, i paint a civic seal grey metallic, which is the color off of porsches. Paint code from porsche, they don't offer it exactly, color is 3 tones dark or lighter. It is like copyrights, it's illegal!!!
