Type RA-R Red Grill Trim, DIY for $5 part 12
How did you guys get the striping to stick around the center piece of the hawkeye grills. I did it twice now and each time after a few days of driving, the bottom corners start to peel off.
do you clean the whole surface your sticking too?

Also, what i do is get a little extra (about 1inch) because fingerprint oils can reduce the stickyness. once i apply it, i cut off that inch or to the point where it sits perfect,

yes i first cleaned it with a goo gone type substance then rubbing alcohol. What do you mean cut off 1 inch? Like cut the pinstriping in half and meet the two ends in the corner? I've been trying to do it with just one piece

^I'm talking about for the 2006-2007 model, its much harder to do on that grill for me for some reason. Its also hard to not get folds when trying to get around the corner.

What i mean is from the length needed to mask out the grill, add another inch to it so you can cut it off once you apply the sticker. Reason is because our fingers create oils that reduce the adhesion.

So lets say it takes about 12 inches to mask out the whole inner rim. Add another inch to it so you can put your fingers and cut off that inch after applied. So you still have the 12inch mask, but now you dont have finger oils on it either.

What striping are you using? I've had my vinyl stripe on for a couple years with absolutely 0 problems. It also did not bunch or fold in corners because it stretches a bit.

This is the stuff I got. I had to order it online from England or something because they didn't have gold at my local auto store.

I brought some of the reflective pin striping but or only just clicked I don't have the hawkeye grill on my liberty. Any suggestions as too what I can use it on? I was thinking my new rims when I get them!

Has anyone tried a blue pinstripe on a white impreza?

I dunno, but it would probably look great. Kinda like a MC12.

I just did this to mine. Got the red pinstripe on my 2013 dgm hatch. Cheapest mod I've seen so far and it actually looks real nice. I want to do the wrx emblems red now. I've been looking in the forums and haven't doubt a real good step by step on that. Anyone have suggestions? A lot of people paint with the brush but I'm not sure I'll be able to make it look smooth enough even with a fine brush. Wish I could post pics up of my car but for some reason the nasioc app on the iPhone can't let you upload the pics on your phone :P

No. lmao. I did a molding trim that was blue from ebay which was 5mm. (a bit small actually) You can bearly see it until youre up to the car. My car is silver anyway.
I decided to try this RA-R Grill Trim that everyone else has been doing, but I used reflective tape and added a little bit to it to make it a little more unique.

Here's before:

and here's after:

A shot from the side of the intercooler intake (before I painted the SUBARU Emblem and added the Supertones):

I added a small Trim line at the bottom of the rear bumper as well:

Finally doing this to mine, you are only taping the front only right? Not removing the grill and tape the front/back edge?

Bump, btw for anyone who wanted to see the white with blue tape ill be doing this to my 2013 wrx in the next few weeks when i get enough time/ modivation.
