I have done the Type RA-R trim on all three pieces and when I can post attachments I will put up pictures. I also changed the color of my badge but I'm not sure I like it. It reminds me of Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer.

Bringin this thread back to life!
on my 09 i just did only the top of the grill (since i have a sports grill), and also did a straight line across the top of the windshield. Used 1/8" red pin striping bought from my local autozone. Will post pictures in a couple hours.

It's all the same process, just finding the different clips that release things. IIRC, there's a thread somewhere about installing the sport grille that shows how to pull the front end off.

It's probably worse in Oregon, but you can easily remove the center grill from the car in 2 minutes, if not less, take it inside and do it. Just saying. :)

^^ I had the same problem. Even tried a little heat to make it stretch but would still have the corners pop. I ended up making some precision cuts with an exacto knife and lined the ends up. You can't even tell unless you're within inches of it.

Similar to what you would use to mix or level bondo. For the sharp edges, I put a little heat on it and pulled the material pretty tight. You can also do as suggested and cut with an x-acto knife. Should not be able to tell since those sharp edges are on the upper corners of those pieces.

Bump a semi-old thread. I got some pin striping to do this, but got home and found I'd picked up the 1/8" instead of the 1/4". I figured I'd give it a test run with the skinny stuff before I took it all apart, and it actually came out pretty well. It's very subtle IRL.

this is 100% spot on. 1/8" tape peels off a whole lot easier than the 1/4" one. I will be redoing mine with 1/4" this time. Of course with a very meticulous prep job ;)

I decided to try this RA-R Grill Trim that everyone else has been doing, but I used reflective tape and added a little bit to it to make it a little more unique.

A shot from the side of the intercooler intake (before I painted the SUBARU Emblem and added the Supertones):

I added a small Trim line at the bottom of the rear bumper as well:

How did you guys get the striping to stick around the center piece of the hawkeye grills. I did it twice now and each time after a few days of driving, the bottom corners start to peel off.
