It's actually not hard. I bought some crochet thread from michael's Crafts (same thickness as stock thread) and a thick needle. I pull out the side stitching one line at a time and then rethread the whole line. The side stitches are almost purley cosmetic so I just reuse the same holes.

I like blue stitching, looks nice. If I ever have the $$ to re-do my whole interior, might do that. Not sure.
But I'm also wanting an STi Ver.6 steering wheel, which of course has red stitch. And everything I've already got is red. Including the STi e-brake handle, that I want. So I'll stick with red, for now. :D

^^ Except I'm not claiming to be an RA-R, or an STI, or a Spec C, or an S20x, nore have I badged it as such. Most people that will see my car will not know what RA-R is, nor do I care. My seatbelts are red, my rally armor's logo is red, my brakes are red. It flows with my setup and I like it. :)

What made me cry more was the fact that my car was only 1.5 months old! I was about 10 car lengths behind a truck carrying (what else) brand new cars to the dealership. It was on a residential type road (45 mph) and that thing was shooting rocks the size of popped popcorn! They were bouncing about 3 feet high and even that far back I got hit by that one. It was my first dent, second was from my gf's brother's ADD friend who though swinging on the SUV door to get out would be fun. Well, it was until he hit my car and I yelled at him because I specifically told him to be careful.

From that picc ^^ it looks like the stripe matches the STI badge perfectly.
WRXcelent, I like the red offsetting the black insert. Get some silver bulbs though because the orange kind of clashes with the red...too many colors on the front.

I went down to my local vinyl shop and had them choose the vynil that closest matches the STI pink (I will try to get the name for you on Tuesday, today is a holiday). Then I had them cut 1/4" strips and I just removed the grille (4 little clips), and stuck the vinyl...

So, i have a broken center grill from when i was hit a couple weeks ago, and a new one is on back order. so i get my car back on monday and i have to wait for the center piece to come in.
i'm thinking about using the broken one to do a little experiment, maybe spraying it red and doing the RA-R stripe.
What does everyone think?

the pinstripe would be done the same way, but i'm thinking of laying mesh(Rattle Can Red) behind the stock black grill.
I saw a pic somewhere of one with white mesh behind, looked sharp, but didn't stick out too crazy. I'll try to find the pic on here again.

I think the white mesh looks like plastic and I don't like it as much as black or silver. Plus it's probably impossible to keep clean. But if you do it, post pics. I'd like to see white mesh on an 07. I've only seen it on 04/05's.

I'm actually thinking about doing Red Mesh under the stock grill,
Being that my car's black, i think it'll look pretty good. I think I'm gonna do all three sections with the red mesh, but just the true RA-R striped Center Grill.
Any extra Opinions???

goodness this was an easy mod...1st time taking off the grill, and with these instructions, took less than 5 minutes to take off! It took me longer putting the damn grill back on than it did to take it off.
Course I had to re-tape it twice, since the 1st time round had a bubble in the middle, but oh well...
about 1 hour for removing, washing, taping twice and reinstalling!

Anybody know where to get the 3m reflective tape from? Its surprisingly hard to find. Tried pep boys/walmart/home depot/lowes and none of them have the 3M
