vivid is just sponsoring the car. they dont have anything to do with its prep. i think it is being rented and serviced by techsport.

There's no second place for McRae--if he finishes it'll be first, but he'll stuff it.
I think Lauchlin & Matt will be fast and don't forget Travis did just win on some of the same roads at Rim.
I voted for Pat, but did just see on SS that he's desparate for new tires and that his usual sources have none. Hopefully he finds some soon (and not Pirellis).
It'll be interesting to see who has new tweeks to their cars for more power, etc. Pinker skipped MFR and maybe he found some new power for basically a gpN car.

STPR is listed as Xgames qualifier and is on ESPN2 sat 7/29 at 12:30 central for 1hr. It's even in Hi Def, so if you have ESPN[B]2[/B] HD, all the better.
Xgames show is sat. 8/5 at 4pm central on ABC. The super special is live with some footage of the Wed. stage rally added in.

I think this will be a really interesting event. This is probably the most stacked field ever in a US event, and it seems to have gotten everyone into hyper-competitive moods and ready to go for broke.
My vote is that McRae takes it, because he has way more experience at a much higher level than anyone else in the field. It will be interesting to see how the best of the US stack up, but I think that most will need to drive way above their normal pace to beat McRae.

assuming Lauchlin is running in CPD1, that thing is a rocketship.
travis hasnt had this deep of a field to compete against before.
i am sure pat will solve his tire issues, and the regular pirelli tires are very good, it is the moos ones that are troublesome.

Rhys is renting a 04-05 STi that is being supported by andy brown (Techsport), he isnt using his old evo.

Iorio seems to respond very well to high pressure and has been very fast lately. he is one of the most exciting north american drivers to watch right now. and his car is quite a bit lighter than some of the other cars.
i dont know too much about what is going on with the other guys.

i think the reduction of the gaps between positions before the SSS is going to make things very exciting.

Tanner's car is new. I think he will be driving it in the 2007 Rally America championship.
