Ken and Travis both did pretty damn good on the pavement on the gravel tires. Ken's One Lap experience must have paid off!
Wow! I'm out of breath, still!

McRae still made everyone look slow on the pavement, and he isnt the best on tarmac either :p

That was amazing! I was sure Colin was going to stuff it two or three times. Then when he did, I felt bad for him crashing out right at the end of the last stage - but he lands on his wheels and keeps going. Truly classic.
Congrats to Travis, I'm sure this guy is going to go a long way in the sport. He does appear to have the knack for it.
Too bad for Pat and Nath. Loss of brakes surely must suck. Good job anyway!
I also must say that I am impressed with how ABC/ESPN covered the rally. Technically speaking, good camera work and production. The rail cam on the tarmac side of the super special was a nice view. Here's to hoping this piques interest in rally in North America! :)

Really enjoyed the Rally coverage but I'm a big X games fan anyway, hope rally makes a return as it proved to be very entertaining, hmmmm....wonder if any parts from Mcrae's car will be on ebay.

What's better than winning the X-games.....rolling in the stadium and finishing second. In Britese; that was 'brilliant' What a show.
Great job Travis & Christian!!! You guys have 'arrived'. I think your massive X-games win calls for a tattoo!
I think coverage was great with one exception. The audience was given little to no insight as to who was sitting next to Travis, and other drivers. Becker seemed to only be noted for his age, or was it Champagne...?
Would have also been good to give a driver/team profile/bio of all the teams.
Now the big question: will there be rally in X-games 13?

LOL, I found it funny that the numbers for Colin and Travis started climbing after the stage times started coming in.
Great job Pat and Nat, you did us Canucks proud. Without the flat and the freak brake failure you would have been at the front.

Yah, WTG for everyone I didn't mention in my earlier post - didn't mean to diminish anyone's efforts.
I said earlier I liked the coverage. I meant I liked the technical aspect of it. The one "regular" ESPN Sports announcer who did most of the talking (the older fellow, I don't recall his name) did a passable job, even pronounced "Richard" right, which I can't say for my local channel's sportscaster. The other guys sounded like the skaters and BMXers they probably are, and went on about "sick air" and all that crap. One of them, earlier in the show while promoting an upcoming program, talked about Helio "Castro-knee-veeez".
Two more comments:
1. Is it wrong to have thought in the last couple turns of Pat's run "He's bringing out the trunkmonkey!"?
2. After Pat annihilated the foam bales (and timing - WTG! :D ), was it then a challenge to see how many bales you could wipe out on the finish?

colin just ran a couple tarmac rallies and won them.
he is very good on tarmac. the problem was that loeb, panizzi, and a couple others were just that much better than him.

I am pretty sure i heard Paul Page say that he used to run TSDs during the show today.
i thought the show as very good.
it is fun to see people you have met and raced against on TV. sure i was in a slow P class car but it was in the same race all the same.

That's how I felt after Colin crossed the finish! As has been stated, the camera work was great, but the commentary was kinda lame. Could have lived without the Tokyo Drift comments
At any rate, I hope that sparks up the Rally flame in America. My wife was even into it (she likes the whole car thing, but I never thought she cared to watch it on TV). I was cheering for Colin, but I think it's good for the US to have a "Golden Boy" of rally. I wonder what kind of international coverage the x-games get. Congrats to Travis and Christian! And Colin as well! What a finish!
Oh, and forget about Rally at X-Games 13 for now... I think we need to push for Rally at the upcoming winter X-Games
