Japanparts + WRC Burn Up Aero Parts part 1

Thumper23 04-21-2006 03:38 PM

Japanparts + WRC Burn Up Aero Parts
So japanparts is now carrying the WRC replica Burn Up bumpers. This has been a plan of mine for a long time now.

So $1200 for the bumper then another $700 for shipping.

That's alot of cash, but damn it looks good.

lbone420 04-21-2006 03:41 PM

wouldn't you need the widebody kit to make it "flow" with the rest of the car or will it still look good with stock fenders?
Thumper23 04-21-2006 03:47 PM

http://www.japanparts.com/db/partslist.php?dealer=&car=&middlesmall=&maker=&volkey=191

they offer 3 different bumpers, the middle one is the one I posted

the last one is for the wider fenders
Jpapania 04-21-2006 05:00 PM

I agree with you. Would love to do this look to my wagon to be different, but damn that is a lot of money. Wonder if you could get the hood?
blue blurr 04-21-2006 05:42 PM

I kind of like the first one the best (wrc03). I would love to get that...
STI_Jaguar 04-21-2006 08:40 PM

The Price is OK, but the shipping is what Kills.

I cant seem to find the carbon fiber rectangular mirrors on there. Do they sell replicas of those as well? I am about to fetch the real thing so I need to price compare them to the replicas.

exactly
leeden 04-23-2006 10:52 AM

I'm about to replace my bumper cover since it's all cracked. I would love to get this but it's too expensive. :(
mrwrx2002 04-23-2006 10:55 AM

if someone did the whole wide body kit that would look gorgeous
Thumper23 04-23-2006 02:17 PM
if someone did the whole wide body kit that would look gorgeous
I couldn't even begin to fathom how much that would cost
STI_Jaguar 04-23-2006 04:08 PM

I said many times that I was going to do it. But I recently invested like $3K into new photography equipment that could have gone into this car.!!!

Well...maybe later this summer or next year.

my plan is later this summer once the car is paid off

I'll just have to see if I'll actually do it or not
mindchatter 04-24-2006 01:29 AM

So the one in the middle pic would line up o.k. with stock STi side skirts and all? Wouldn't need any modification to the quarterpanels or anything? I'm in need of a new bumper and am thinking this may be worth the extra coupla bucks assuming I can figure something out on shipping......someone lemme know, as I'll order it up.
Thumper23 04-24-2006 01:48 AM

As I read that page, that seems to be the case. Its the last one that only fits with the wider fenders. But before I purchase, I'm definitely going to know for sure. I'd contact them just to be sure.
mindchatter 04-24-2006 02:12 PM

I sent Graham at JapanParts (he's on the boards here) a PM inquiring about fitment. From what I've read Burn Up stuff is top notch, so I'm guessing it's a drop in replacement, but want to be 100% before ordering. I'll let you guys know what I find out. It looks to me from the pics posted that it would flow very well with the lines on the front of the car......and it seems about as low as stock, no? I'm already lowered so any lip or extra drop is out of the question......I busted my V-Limited within months.
STI_Jaguar 04-24-2006 04:33 PM

If you are going to get the WRC front bumper, get the 2005 season version. Best looking imo.

Fitment of the 2004 BurnUp front bumper doesn't require the Widebody front fenders their other Kits do

Freight: If you are prepared to wait an extra couple of weeks ( about 6 weeks turnaround ) we can deliver your front bumper cleared through a US seaport and delivered surface on from there; just tying the details of the logistics up with a Carrier and forwarder USA side now, that will get the freight ( which our online calculator is advising for "To-Door" delivery by Airfreight) down to maybe $150 or so, depending on the ZIP Code of your delivery address

"Shipping Kills"

We're listening to ya ( !! ):
JapanParts is just tying up a deal with a Carrier and forwarder now where we will be able to ship through multiple USA ports of entry, arrange clearance and delivery to your Door in 48 States; and very rea$$onably

This should be all place mid-May once all the fine print is drafted up and contracts signed

Just tying up a deal with a Carrier and forwarder now where we should be able to deliver the Bumper to you for considerably less than US$700 (which is a "To Door by Airfreight" rate )

Won't all be in place until mid-May, but we hear ya....

Graham, that sounds awesome. Once you guys get that shipping price down and all worked out, you can consider one of those bumpers sold. :D

Thx muchly for the response here and the to the PM's Graham. Much appreciated.

V5-STi 04-27-2006 06:02 AM

Graham,
Does the 05 WRC bumper need the wider fenders??
The website says that it will fit the originals !!
STI_Jaguar 04-27-2006 07:13 AM

I am pretty sure that it fits the stock fenders. If you look at l'aunsport and burnup website, they have the bumper fitted to the stock fenders.

But why not get the fenders as well! I am really excited. But I am pretty sure that the replica wide fenders isn't nearly as wide as the real WRC fenders.

Cause some of us might not be as loaded as you. I PM'd Graham the same question about the fitment.

But yeah, I am also really excited.
STI_Jaguar 04-28-2006 05:29 AM

Looks like I will have to go replica. Got this email from the folks who make the real parts.

'Yes we do make the bumper but not the side sills, however the bumper will not just fit straight on a road car as it wont match the front wings, the bumper is wider, and also the wheels on the wrc are further forward it increase's the wheel base by some 60 mm.'

What's the website for the "BURN-UP" body kits?

Yes, but the '04 should still fit. That wasn't made for the wider fenders. And if at the very least, the '03 will fit. I know of atleast two people on this board that have the '03 Burn Up bumper on their STi's and it fits perfectly.

Could you tell us who they are so we can ask them to post their pics? Or can you contact them for us? This mod is great but accuracy on the fitment is very important. Thanks.

Silly THumper, I am sure that the BurnUps bumpers of any year should fit for the stock fenders. My email was in regard to the real WRC parts, not replica.

west_minist 05-30-2006 09:55 AM

I would say that I may have introduce JapanParts to BurnUp.

I wanted a wing and that was the first time there seems to not know about them.
japanparts 05-30-2006 10:43 PM

BurnUp parts are on our Site

The 2004/5 GC-D/E/F don't require the wider fenders to fit

Graham
west_minist 05-30-2006 11:29 PM

There are now.

Either way, good stuff. Any one know if the quailty is good. I may still need a wing if I do not have to let my car go.
japanparts 05-31-2006 04:15 AM

If you're in the Caribbean
There are now.

Graham,

I seen you've added new shipping options: $335 to the local Greyhound office and $350 to the seaport is much better prices. Now to get the funds together.

YES, the GPX/Greyhound shipping makes us very competitive, now that Option's been added to our Site

**If you choose the GPX Option, we will arrange clearance into the USA, and delivery to the nearest Greyhpund depot to you. All you need to do is follow the online tracking on the GPX site, and pickup at that depot once your Order is there**

You can pay us by US$ into our Union Bank of California account ( details supplied on request ) OR;

PAYPAL/Card ( tho' surcharges apply )

PM or email me [emailprotected] and we'll work it out

Best!

Cool, I can talk to Japanparts direct.

Hey Graham,
I am very interested in the L'aunsport 22B/WRC bodykit. How much would shipping cost to Chicago, IL? I'm guessing it would be a different rate since there are more parts to ship. Any rough estimate would be greatly appreciated.

Click link for L'Aunsport 22B Bodykit
japanparts 06-30-2006 01:16 AM

Shipping to IL
I'll need the ZIP Code of your delivery address in IL and the closest town(Joliet? Moline? Peoria? Other?)

The cheapest deal we can offer is to deliver your Bodykit to the nearest freight depot to where you are; and you pickup from there

That will take 6-8 weeks for that Kit, that is, 6-8 weeks from receiving your payment to delivery IL

You don't have to deal with Customs clearances, we handle all that for you, and freight is fully Insured and trackable

Let me know your ZIP; and I'll PM you with a quote

Best!

Graham
