Looking for pics of rain visors on 02+ WRX/STi
Any out there other than the ones from CC-B? Any comments on them? Do you like the look of them?

Here's a few more from FastWRX

I got the wagon version. Proper shipping is essential, since they are so long and thin; mine were shipped as an 8" x 2" x 6 foot long box, sandwiched between two 8" x 6' sheets of 1/4" plywood -- no shipping damage with that setup!
engineerx 10-14-2004 07:01 PM

I wish it would rain here in Southern California so I could use those visors :(
Needles 10-14-2004 11:59 PM

IMO $159 is just a little much.

Don't really have a choice, those are the only ones I have seen for our cars.
I love mine and will try to take some pictures today and post them.
Diversion 10-15-2004 05:43 PM

Even though I have a sedan, I think it's an adequate question... how easy were they to install?

I've had a set for my car sitting in their box on the floor for about the past, I dunno... at least 3 months
makanai 10-15-2004 11:36 PM

I wish someone would make a slightly larger better-coverage version for our cars.
paperchasin 10-16-2004 12:13 AM

i ordered mine from CC-B...install was very easy, much easier than i had anticipated.
vennt 10-16-2004 02:09 AM

yeah install is basically like this.

pull out the "run channel" that big rubber mess that seals up your windows when you close the door. take out one screw, put one of the brackets in. align the visor before you take off the double sided tape, line up and snap in the rest of the clips. the inside of the visor has these tiny grooves where your supposed to snap them in and thats what they do just snap into the run channel and into a groove on the visor, so its super super easy. then just push the run channel back in. literally takes about 10 minutes.

And like others have said, it's an easy install.

Looks great to me!
PhoKingWRX 10-16-2004 07:37 PM

i have these installed on my car as well. in the seattle weather, it holds up nicely especially when someone passes gas inside the car and quick ventilation is needed while its raining outside.

i pretty much agree with everyone else where the install is very easy. i bought my set for $144. yah its a bit pricey but i deal with rain on the regular. the only issue i have is that there is some fading on the edges of mine. not sure where it came from, maybe just wear or tear? (ive had them on since jan' 04) just curious if anyone else out there has some slight fading on the edges of the visors as well.

I agree they do look very nice

Alizarin 10-17-2004 11:50 AM

Hrm... any thoughts on having them painted?
flankgent 10-17-2004 12:23 PM

anyone have instructions to install the visors?
flankgent 10-17-2004 12:26 PM

hahaha never mind... should have read the posts above mine.....
Diversion 10-17-2004 04:27 PM

I wouldn't paint them.. they almost appear invisible installed.. have to really look for them as it is.

Sorry, the 'rents got them for me as a birthday present that turned into a Christmas present because of the 6-month backorder, so I don't know exactly where they ordered them from.
paperchasin 10-17-2004 05:41 PM

^^Wagon version can be found on www.cc-b.com as well...
i would not paint them, they look fine the way they are.

anyone have pics of these on a wagon?
SiOrange 12-31-2004 02:37 PM

you guys think these will help cut down on some of the wind noise as well?
paperchasin 12-31-2004 02:42 PM

Nope, it actually creates more wind noise...
Bishop 12-31-2004 02:51 PM

really?? damn! there goes that idea for now.
HoOn 12-31-2004 03:08 PM

That's one of the reason SOA doesn't carry those because of increase wind noise! Coming from someone within Subaru. :)

STi-MAN 12-31-2004 05:15 PM

wait so the cc-b wagon versions fit on the sedan?
Diversion 01-01-2005 02:14 PM

I don't think CC-B even sells the visors anymore.. anybody know who does now?

I've had mine on for over a year and have not noticed any fading anywhere.

So they care less about wind noise in Europe, Japan, etc. than they do in America?

my bad. the pic is of a sedan. have you tried contacting them?
5spdfrk 01-02-2005 01:02 PM

So, would this prevent water from dripping onto my seats when I open my door after a rain or the morning dew. That is one gripe I have about the frameless windows.
paperchasin 01-02-2005 01:15 PM

Sorry to say, but in my experience with them, it still allows water to drip inside on the seats...reason being is that the door opens with the windows barely clearing the visors, so the water drops that hang over the visors get hit by the window when u open the door, causing the water to drop on the seats...its not a whole lot of water, but i thought it should still be mentioned...
Bishop 01-02-2005 02:15 PM

so are they worth it?
paperchasin 01-02-2005 06:29 PM

well, i jus want things that people dont have...i guess it depends on ur "style", so to speak...imma JDM whore, so i decided i wanted this, even if it was completely useless...
vennt 01-02-2005 07:07 PM

best pics i have on my car

i've had a chance to test em out with the recent rains in ca, and they work just dont lower the window more than an inch.

Thanks for the input.
wrxsubaruwrx 01-02-2005 08:13 PM

I was thinking about these too because of the wind noise with the windows down in the not so hot summer days . It must be the shape of the car or something
