Need Kartboy Shift Knob Pics

Does anyone have a pic of an installed Kartboy Shift Knob on a WRX? It's hard to tell what it would look like, size, etc from pics of just the knob. If anyone has some pics I'd really apreciate it if ya posted them. Also any thoughts you have on the knob I'd like to hear how you like it. Thanks Guys

love the kb knob...had it for over a year. Not really liking it at the moment..100+ weather heats that bad boy up pretty quickly. I'll post a pic when I get off work.

I found baby socks as a wonderful solution for knobs that get too hot or cold :)

Sticks out how? Like above the level of the knob - not really there's a machined depression for the sticker. Like awful color - there are other colors you can get.

It is a grand idea ;) It reduces the heat or coldness just enough to make it tolerable to shift. So in essence, it keeps it cool or warm enough to the touch. Got the idea originally from Dendrobium in this thread:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=502729
There's no particular size. Just go to your local Wal-Mart, Target, or Baby Store and look for socks and you'll see different sizes. Pick a color you like and a size that will cover your knob.

OMG!~!!
KARTBOY KNOB IS THE BEST KNOB ON THE MARKET!!!!
PRICE BE DA^%NED!!!!
I have the Kartboy knob with the black anodizing and the yellow "Kartboy" bar-code logo....
It looks absolutely bada$$ !!!!
I will try and get a pic tonight and post it up!!!
I wouldn't buy any other shift knob besides Kartboy after feeling the weight and feel of it compared to other brands and to stock....
I have a dogbox tranny and it really helps the speed of the shifting and engagement of the gear...
I am now a Kartboy customer for life. PERIOD.

That sticker is sweet. How did you do it? The decal on the Kartboy is the only thing I don't like about it. If I could do one like that I'd get it in a minute.

photo paper, a 300dpi printer and "Making Memories" XL circular page pebbles for scrapbooking... fairly simple process! (adobe illustrator will help, too)
and in that picture everything looks super bright, normally the blacks match perfectly- they're just nice even glossy black.

Regardless of the knob material your knob (if you will) will eventually get hot in the summer. I have a derlin plastic knob and it gets ridiculously hot in the summer heat during the day even though people say that it doesn't get as hot or cold. well it frikken does. When I had my shot carbon momo knob it was as hot as my prova knob. By far, the stock knob retains the least amount of heat/cold.
But the baby sock thingy is awesome. I think ill find a bright 'jdm' red one.

here some pics of my knob...sorry my camera is meh. The second picture is a quarter for size. The first thing I noticed when I got my KB knob was how small it was. When installed it's a perfect fit.

now on to the important stuff...I had my wife swing by target to pick up baby socks. She picked up baby socks and baby mittens:
baby mittens:
pros: fits perfectly
cons: thin material

baby socks:
pros: cool rubber embossed alphabet on the socks (wife picked them up)
and thicker material
cons: a little big

I'm going to try both the mittens and the socks tomorrow to see which one's do a better job of keeping my hands from burning. Thanks for the idea Hank...this will now officially be named the Hank mod. ;)

Homerisking - I can't believe you had the wifey swing by Target to get you the knobsock  That's funny to me for some reason. Hopefully they'll work out for you - even if they just reduce the hotness to a level to where your hands don't get seared. Give props to Dendrobium for this mod, too :)
BTW - your camera may have macro feature so when you take pics up close, it'll be more focused.

I'll give Dendrobium credit but that's a pretty hard name to remember soooo.....Hank ftw. ;)

I change shift knobs a lot...I have the kartboy and love it but i want a different knob again lol. I want an all black knob. any suggestions. i like the prodrive but its just too big.
id get the delrin knob but it doesnt have a lip for the boot. I might just go back to the stocker for a little while and sell the kartboy.

I noticed that we actually don't need anything to cover the shift knob. Are we actually keeping our hands on the shift knob while we drive? IIRC, our owners manual says NOT to leave your hand on the shift lever while driving. I personally shift as fast as I can to avoid the heat transfer from the knob to my hand... Red baby socks FTW though....

and the amazing thing is that it was less than 1/2 the price of other shift knobs that weren't 1/2 the quality...

i don't know about you but when my black kartboy is in the sun and the window are up, i can't touch it for long enough to put it in gear from neutral without hurting my hand.

i have a knob that is almost the same size and shape as your DIY one, and i just have to say there is absolutely no comparison on my kartboy shifter with kartboy bushings. the knuckleball shift knob feels the best out of all the different styles i've tried...
greddy delrin(perfect sphere)
sti piston style
eurostar CF cylinder(similar to above)
stock leather
Civic Type R
kartboy knuckleball knob gives a more direct, anatomically correct, and aesthetically pleasing feel and look than any of the above. if you don't agree, that's fine... but that DIY cylinder hackjob just can't even compare in my opinion.
