Paint rims black or bronze?

I'm bored, what do you guys think? Paint the stock rims black or white? I have a stock aspen white WRX, lowered w/painted side skirts
Bronze would look like this....

And I cant find a pic of a WRX with painted black rims.
What would look better? Black or bronze? Or leave it alone.

Just save up bro!! Seems like u already put alot of money into your car (FMIC, kit, etc.) The only thing left that would make things more complete would be some rims. Just my $0.02.

paint them black...then toss another grand or so out, and get morette lhead and tail lights, and get a really dark window tint....yeayea...
I have no money either, but one of these days, thats exactly waht i'll do to my car. also, keep the 16in oem's, and you can hit up gravel roads anytime you'd like

So wait, are you just painting the outer edge of the wheel (the rim) or the whole wheel :confused:

I painted the entire wheel. I "lubed up" the tires w/ vaseline (sp?) Coated the eintire wheel area w/ 4 coats of bronze, followed by 4 coats of clear, then wiped off the tires.

I tried masking tape, but it didn't stick well,... at all for that matter, to my tires... So I did what I did when I was punk rock... vaseline whatever you don't want to have color on it!

That's a pretty good idea, actually. O_O The vasaline won't ruin the tires, and will protect them from the paint better than masking tape would. :p
Gold = rally style wheels. Definatly gold or bronze colored. Black would just look... Slutty.

I did mine in black (tires off rims). I think there is a pic in the mid-atlantic forum. But my car's WRB not white. I actually used a ceramic based engine paint to with stand the heat from the brakes then had a buddy clearcoat the piss out of them and bake-em. It's been about a year now and they are just as purty as the day they were done.

So if I rattle can a clear coat over lets say a ceramic based engine paint will the heat from the disk brakes mess it all up. Do I have to have them baked or whatever?

I just Duplicolor'd my Rotas black.. can't speak from experience yet, haven't put them on the car.

I painted my wheels a semi-flat black (krylon :devil: ) and they look pretty good, alot better than the gold they were before.

On your car, I think that maybe black would be the way to go. If you had the stock hood and stock spoiler, gold would look better, IMO.

Hey, that's my old WRX :D I still regret selling it sometimes :(
I'd go bronze. I never was a big fan of black wheels, look like ghetto steel wheels.

On a white car i would go gold or bronze. Though the black on my car looks pretty good in person.

on a black car i think black rims with a silver polished lip looks nice as hell. What really sux is that a lot of people think that gold rims look gauty. This really pisses me off cause i like gold wheels as well. I saw the new Konig Hurrey black wheels. Im not a fan of Konigs but these wheels werent very bad. I would also say gold. when it comes to painting the rims tho, i like that first picture on the forum, looks very well done.

to me, black rims always look like the wheel thats missing a hub cap. im not a fan.
i am a fan however of that cwest hood, that thing is f'ing awesome.
