Thanks, and no...while the in the padock, Audi had these little plastic ball things hanging off of the sides/bottom of the car...there were 2 on each side, they were removed before the race began. Maybe some kind of reference for loading and unloading the chasis from the trucks...???

Those are used as reminders for the crew to remove radiator blanks. The diesel is very thermally efficient, loses heat quickly, so the blanks are kept in when not running to keep it warm after its been warmed up.

This is seriously one of the most awesome pictures I've ever seen, of anything. But I can't quite figure out why.

Yes and no, before I posted I did a search for "Petit Le Mans" and this thread came up, I didn't notice that it was a year old until after I added my pics to it, I had just assumed that it was a recent post...but in the end it seems like it worked out perfectly. Next year I will just add my pics to this thread again. It can just be the official Nasioc Petit Le Mans photo album...

I didn't find anything...but to be honest...I don't recall seeing a panoz pace car, was it THE pace car or just a pace car that was on display. The only pace car that I remember was a little red mazda 3.

All of these images are high enough resolution to use as desktop pics...and also should print clearly up to 8.5" x 12" inches. They are not as clear as the larger uncompressed photos, which could be blown up to poster size...but I can't give those away free.
My screen resolution is 1440 x 960, and they all look great on my desktop.

Beautiful pics! I was there, but all I had was my wife's crappy digital camera. Most of the pics I had of cars running on the track were blurry, but I did get a couple of decent photos in the pits.
For me, one of the best (yet most dissapointing) moments of the race was when Ron Fellows wrecked the C6-R. I was standing right at the the downhille spot before the dip at the bottom of the esses. Next year, I'm coming armed with a video camera. :mad:
I also really missed seeing the Aston Martins... I wish they would come back. I'd like to see some BMWs back on the field, too.

Yeah, BMW and Astin Martin were definately missed, maybe next year. On a good note though, the dodge Viper will be back next year, and there was an announcement that Ford is making the GT40 chasis available to race teams next year as well, so maybe those will start poping up on the tracks again too!
but hey, I gotta run...apparently there is some really amazing good fantastic spectacular astounding good deal that I am missing out on...:lol:

It was one of the Vitesse cars that escorts the LMP and GT cars for each practice and qualify and race laps, but yes were also set up for display. W elaos took vip's for fast laps. Audi R8, Corvette Z06, Porsche GT3, Panoz Esperante etc.
