RT615 on sale?

Just ordered some RT615 (245-45-17) for $117 each from Edgeracing. I think it's a great price, the lowest I've seen yet. Just want to pass it along.

holy crap that seems pretty damn low for that size

Those and the kooks are at the cheapest prices i've seen yet. Hopefully they have another sale when I have money for tires.

would it be a good idea to order these tires now since they are cheap... even if they would have to sit in my basement till like april-may? I have the $ I just dont know if I should wait, what do you think? Is it healthy for the tire... anything like that?

Its a good deal but I cant get my order to go through.
Edit: NM finally went through.

Ordered mine too. Couldn't pass up those prices on the 245-45-17s for my '05 STi.

A garage - I might be concerned with, but basement should be fine. Particularly if you leave them unshaved/undriven on until then. Andy Hollis wrote recently that tires seemed to start a "countdown" once they'd been shaved or driven on, but if left alone at full-tread would last considerably longer.

We're paying $102 ... locally, cash, no-shipping. Dollar over dealer cost ... because the dealers are getting money back from Falken.
Also paid the same for 235/40/17 Kooks.
Supposedly you shouldn't leave them near electric motors ... the ozone produced by them can have a determential effect on them. I would bag them in black trash bags. I was told this at a Kuhmo seminar.

I would be concerned with shipping them this time of year to places that are below freezing. Takes a fair bit of life out of R compound and near R compound tires if they are allowed to freeze.

^ hmmm you bring up an interesting point.

They don't have Azenis 615 in 235/40-17 either, I'm getting the feeling that they never will. They just push release further back all of the time.
i ordered the 255/40/17's
As street tires I presume, not ST* tires? The STi is limited to 245s in STU.

i run a local-only street tire class. i don't compete anywhere but local, and my competition are a couple evos running 275's :)

Thanks for the heads up on this. I picked up a set of 245/45-17 for my STi. Wondering what the hot tire is going to be in ST this year.
