| Handsdown | 02-06-2007 03:13 PM |

| silver-RS | 02-06-2007 03:28 PM |

yeah i roughed everything up a bit and then fiberglassed and smoothened everything out... OH and the ultrasuede is peeling off my headliner... anyone know of a better glue that will hold up better? i used 3M spray adhesive
| fitzonthemark | 02-06-2007 03:31 PM |
that looks good, did you do it?
| skate enjoi | 02-06-2007 03:33 PM |

Make sure to use the 3M 'Super' trim adhesive and not just the regular stuff.

Holy swirl marks, Batman!
I admire your creativity and skill in doing that, though. :)

Cool looking for sure! What happens when someone kicks a door card or dash piece getting into and out of the car though?
| skate enjoi | 02-06-2007 05:03 PM |
then i kicks them in the face
| SpeddeN | 02-06-2007 05:06 PM |
looks pretty good, i wanna see the final result
| CarQz17 | 02-06-2007 05:14 PM |
are those swirls in the clear coat or are they scratches from where you didn't prep the surface correctly before paint?
| skate enjoi | 02-06-2007 10:58 PM |
oh those are in the clear coat believe me i took my time with ALL of these pieces... another coat should take care of them

sti-blue or black ultrasuede on parts with red??? im torn
| turbokonejo | 02-07-2007 05:10 AM |
Go with the black ultrasuede. Have you tried to buff those things yet? I would give that a shot before repainting them over again? How did you paint them, with automotive paint and a gun or with a rattle can with rattle can clear then tried to wet sand and buff? I would try and make the finish more OEMish and mix up or buy a paint that is meant for that interior style look.
I think it looks grate being that its all made of fiberglass but then again it kills me to think I see these super shinny parts inside some serious ricers

Looks great, did you mat or cloth for the glass..?
Do you have any auto ulposlstry places near you? Go ask them what they use for vinyl tops and such... we used to use this stuff we simply called gorrila snot (yeah i know it's a product for guitar pics now, but not back then) It was thick and green, not like crappy spray can adhesive.
I'm sorry i don't remember the name.
You might try this to though... http://www.rochfordsupply.com/product_listing.asp_Q_CatID_E_406_A_SubCatID_E_426_A_ProdID_E_3071
Put it in a old paint gun and go to town...

little shiney for my taste, i'd prefer a flat black
| skate enjoi | 02-09-2007 01:14 AM |
yeah im starting to like the idea of the all black and the only blue being on the sti seats...
| rubinm | 02-09-2007 02:20 AM |
hey where did you get this ultra suede stuff? i wanna re do my door cards to match my V7 seats..
| skate enjoi | 02-09-2007 11:57 AM |
ill have to find the website but i ordered a sample of th blue and it was pretty close to the sti blue.... ill get that in a little bit for you...

thats where i ordered it from... it will be perfect for the door cards... the only thing i didnt like about it is that it wasnt very stretchy so some bends and stuff are harder to do on the headliner and pillars... the sapphire is what i ordered that matches the sti seats pretty good... you can order a sample for pretty cheap if you want to check out different colors for yourself

With suede you need something somewhat thin so that clumps of glue aren't felt or seen.
| veightkiller | 02-09-2007 02:57 PM |
post some pic's after you installed em on your ride i want to see what they look like.

wouldnt you think the thicker the material, the less you would see clumps of glue or anything? anyways, a thinner material would be A LOT easier to work with if anyone knows of any place with thinner material let me know... but yeah ill get some pictures of it when i get everything installed... wont be for awhile because i need to order some black ultrasuede and re-do everything

I was thinking of doing my headiner in black ultra suede. I noticed in the website you posted that the ultra suede is sold by the yard and 58" wide. Is the headliner in our Suby's more or less than 58"???? Just asking to know if there is going to be any overlapping seams. Also, did the fabric company have a decent shipping time on the fabric? Please let me know. Thanks, Nick

yeah 58 inches was enough, there was no overlap or any seams at all, it was one piece that was used for the headliner. i think i got everything in like a week and a half or so. you can ask them how long it would take for you to get everything
